I think you can do pretty much anything with LEGO bricks, but it still amazes me that we are seeing unique creations every day. This LEGO Swiss Army Knife comes from LEGO builder Robiwan_Kenobi. You might recognize that it’s made from LEGO Technic and Bionicle parts, which give it some nice authentic detail. And it is really functional.

Kenobi first built a LEGO Swiss Army Knife back in 2010 and ever since, he has been improving on its design. Now, this knife is the end result. The folding mechanism works exactly like the real knife and all four tools within are functional – just not sharp.

In hopes of LEGO turning this into an actual kit you can buy, he put his creation on the LEGO Cuusoo crowdsourcing website, so if you want to show your support, check it out.

If you are a fan of the Awe Me channel, then you already know that for their series Man at Arms, master swordsmith and renowned propmaster, Tony Swatton, forges cool weapons and then takes them into the field to try them out. This week, Tony has created yet another epic weapon – Worf’s Klingon Bat’leth.

He had gotten his hands on a cheap Chinese copy of a Klingon Bat’Leth, but he wasn’t happy with it, so he decided to make his own. And it isn’t as simple as cutting a piece of metal into shape and then swinging it at your enemies. This weapon was so sharp that Tony says it “almost cut his head off.” So he put on a chainmail cowl, a welding jacket and a leather apron to protect himself while working with it. Check out the build in the video clip below, and be sure to wait around until about 3:44 in to see it in action.

In the end, it is a thing of beauty and deadly sharp. It’s definitely not a toy. This thing will slice and dice you whether a Klingon is wielding it or not.

Sure, alarm clocks are a dime a dozen these days – and many people even use their mobile gadgets instead of a traditional alarm. But if you’re looking for a truly geektastic looking alarm clock, you’ll want to check out the Xronos.

This custom-built alarm clock has a unique style that would look perfect in a home game room or a geeky bedroom. It’s got a large LED dot-matrix display that can display time in green, red or orange, as well as in several fonts. Adding to its gamer style is the fact that it’s programmed and snoozed using real arcade buttons. The clock offers both 12- and 24-hours modes and can also speak the time or date, as well as provide audio feedback when setting the time. You can even set independent alarms for each day of the week.

In addition to offering alarm functionality, the Xronos offers a built in temperature sensor. And since it’s built on the open source Arduino platform, you can customize the programming to your liking. But the customization doesn’t end there. Alarm sounds are stored on a MicroSD card, you can change those if the 10 built-in sounds don’t entice you to get out of bed.

You can be a romantic by wanting to lay yourself down on a bed of roses, but I’d rather be comfortable and lie down on a bed of foam balls instead. Not just regular foam balls because they’ll clearly roll all over the place, leaving you to lie on nothing but the hard floor.

Rather, I mean the Feel Seating System Deluxe. While it can be used in the home, it’s also office chair, but it looks far from being a chair – and for the office, at that.

The entire thing is comprised of 120 fabric-covered balls that are linked together with elastic strands. You’re not limited to just having a chair with the Feel Seating System, since the buckles on the edges let the user reconfigure the shape. Push and move the balls around to come up with a recliner, or flatten it some more to make a cushy bed.

The Feel Seating System Deluxe costs $7,950(USD). It’s steep, I know, but where else can you find an office chair that’s as comfortable, versatile (and productivity eliminating) as this? Fortunately, there are smaller, significantly less expensive versions for kids and smaller adults.

It may not be the best arcade cabinet ever, but Redditor mystery_smelly_feet’s arcade cabinet is no slouch either; especially since he made it with his own two hands. Unless of course he has six hands, in which case this sort of thing is to be expected. But I doubt it. If you’re more concerned about the logic behind a NES arcade machine, don’t worry, there’s actually a PC inside.

Mystery_smelly_feet’s gaming PC has a 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5 CPU, 16 GB RAM, a 2GB GeForce GTX 660 GPU and a 2 TB hard drive. He wired the sticks and buttons to an Ipac 2, which he says mimics keyboard input. The monitor is a 32″ Viewsonic DE3201LED. He didn’t say what brand the speakers were, but a Redditor pointed out that they might be one of Logitech’s surround speakers.

Mystery_smelly_feet used MDF to build the cabinet, with the help of the instructions made by Arcade Controls forum member stevenpbhs as his guide. He also said the he ordered the joysticks and most of the buttons from Suzo-Happ. He got the player 1 and player 2 buttons from Paradise Arcade. Finally he based the sweet NES controller graphic on this design by deviantART member BLUEamnesiac.

As you may have guessed by now, mystery_smelly_feet uses emulators to run games from different consoles on his PC. All in all it took him a total of 2 months and close to $2,000 (USD) to finish his one of a kind gaming setup. Good job man! Now go do something about those smelly feet.
