While firefighting gear isn’t exactly the most stylish and comfortable stuff to wear, I think we can make an exception for this cool bag, made up to look like a fire extinguisher.

It’s made by the artisans at Russia’s KruKru Studio, using 100% wool felt. The 21″+ long red canister has ample capacity for your small personal accessories, wallet, keys, gadgets, etc. – and you can be pretty confident that they’ll never catch on fire if you’re transporting them inside of an extinguisher. The bag has a nice long strap, and can be worn either like a messenger bag, or carried as a large purse.

This unique and whimsical piece can be found over on Etsy for $150(USD), where pyromaniacs can also find a matching bag that looks like a gas can.

I think E-ink display watches are some of the most underrated timepieces out there. They have cool, modern and easy-on-the-eyes displays, with the only downside being their lack of self-illumination. While there aren’t a ton of E-ink watches on the market, I’d love to see this cool design concept get produced.

Conceived by UK designer Devindh, the Paper Blade watch would feature a unique geometric grid for its face, which creates a stencil for the E-ink display underneath. At first glance, the time seems a little tricky to read, but once you read the description of the display, it’s not too challenging: “The grid divides the paper into 4 ‘cells’. Upper and lower cells show the day, month, and year, and the central ‘cell’ shows the time in 24 hr format (the smaller digits showing minutes, and the larger digits showing hours).” So the watch above shows the time “23:53″ (or 11:53 pm). Make sense?

The day and date display mimics the geometric forms of the watch face, completing the look. Devindh envisions the watch coming in a variety of color combinations, but I have to say my favorite is the copper-cased design up top. You don’t frequently find watches in copper – at least not good looking, modern ones.

It’s amazing how things with tentacles can range from cute, to disgusting to creepy. Cthulhu and his tentacle-face definitely falls into that last bucket.

DIYer AlextheMovieGeek created this incredible hand-built Cthulhu costume this past Halloween. The imposing winged creature would definitely have scared up a huge bucket of candy at every house along the trick-or-treat route. This thing looks like the demented love child of The Creature from the Black Lagoon and Davy Jones from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth thinking about those two getting it on.

Alex created this dark masterpiece by building numerous plaster molds of his body, then hand-sculpting clay over them and pouring latex into the molds. The head was made using an entirely clay sculpted mold over a styrofoam head form. In order to increase his height, Alex built some short stilts to jack himself up too. He managed to make the entire thing for under $300, but his time and effort were clearly the main expense.

iPhones can take plenty of abuse, but they get scratched up pretty quickly, which is one of the reasons why cases are necessary. Unlike some, I prefer to keep my phone in as good condition as possible, so when I inevitably upgrade and resell it, I get maximum value. The BookBook case from Twelve South is an interesting idea, since it combines a protective iPhone case with a wallet.

The BookBook case is nicely designed, and fits the iPhone 4 and 4S well. There are 3 slots for credit cards and ID cards, as well as a small slip pocket for some cash. The best thing about this case is that it keeps your iPhone screen scratch-free. Unless you are very diligent in always storing your iPhone in a pocket with nothing else, it will eventually get scratched up. Thanks to its phone pocket and folding cover, this case stops this from happening. The case can also be put inside a bag or purse without any problems.

Personally, I like my cases minimal and simple, but when I was offered this case for review, it made me wonder if that’s really what I wanted. For me, it’s not the best fit due to its bulk. The book-like cover is a cute idea, but the overall design makes the phone a lot thicker than it needs to be. That said, if you’re looking to travel light, it does combine wallet and phone case, and that’s all some people need when they go out clubbing.

With a list price of $59.99 (USD), the BookBook is one of the more expensive iPhone cases I’ve seen. In fact, it’s close in price to some of the waterproof cases that I’ve been looking at. That said, it’s reasonably priced if you take into account the cost of both a case and a wallet.

Nothing helps accentuate a woman’s curves more than corsets. Recently, more and more geek-themed corsets are getting made to the delight of hot female nerds and non-nerds everywhere. Alien and Doctor Who have had their turns with the Facehugger corset and TARDIS corset, respectively.

Now it’s time for the force of the Star Wars corsets to be reckoned with.

Halloween will certainly be over by the time you get these corsets in the mail, but who ever said they were only for Halloween? Bring them out for cosplays, lace up for parties and other special occasions, and wear them whenever you want to feel pretty and geeky at the same time.
