Lenovo Will Continue Acquiring Companies To Accelerate Growth

Beijing-based Lenovo recently announced its plans to acquire two major businesses. The company picked up Motorola Mobility from Google for $2.91 billion. It also purchased IBM’s server business for $2.3 billion, Lenovo previously purchased the company’s PC division back in 2005 for $1.25 billion. The idea behind these acquisitions is to accelerate Lenovo’s growth in these particular market segments. Lenovo has said that it won’t shy away from writing more cheques in the future for additional acquisitions.

    Microsoft Rumored To Be Prepping Virtual Reality Hardware Of Their OwnAccording to a report from last week, it was suggested that Sony could be unveiling their own virtual reality gaming solution this week during GDC. However it seems that they might not be alone in their virtual reality push, thanks to a recent report from The Wall Street Journal which has suggested that Microsoft could be interested in entering the virtual reality space as well.

    According to the report, they cite people who are familiar with the project who claims that Microsoft is interested in pursuing virtual reality with hardware of their own as well. Digital copies of the movie headed in the direction of Kickstarter backers were distributed using codes for Flixster. Just in case you were wondering, Flixster happens to be Warner Bros.’ Ultraviolet-connected movie site/service, but majority of the users ran into issues when it comes to signing up for the Ultraviolet login process, apart from having to set up the Flixster software so that it can begin to stream or download the video, or even to access a copy if you happen to reside outside of the U.S., or to get the seemingly overloaded servers to function as they should.

    Amazon Prime Membership Fee Raised To $99It was expected that Amazon Prime membership fees would get a kick soon, the company has now made the hike official. For the first time since its launch Amazon Prime is getting a price bump, that too of $20. Subscribers will now have to pay $99 per year. This gives them access to Prime’s massive video library as well as free two-day shipping. Amazon Student Prime subscribers will pay $10 extra per year, which brings it up to $49.
