Google Chrome Android Statue Spotted

chrome android Google Chrome Android Statue SpottedThere is a spanking new Android statue on Google’s campus, but this one is a bit of a loner. The reason I said that is because it is not placed alongside the rest of its dessert themed brethren, but rather, looms above those who walk under it, albeit it does look somewhat friendly with an outstretched arm. You can add a new Chrome Android statue to the growing family of other Android statues such as Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean.

What do you think is the significance of the latest Chrome covered Bugdroid statue? While it does not sound too plausible at this point in time, perhaps Google is exploring the possibility of merging both Chrome and Android platforms together, but we will just keep our fingers crossed and play the patience game at this point in time, and await for some official information from the folks over at Google themselves in due time.

China Is The New Thneedville As Canned Air Goes On Sale There

lorax chen China Is The New Thneedville As Canned Air Goes On Sale ThereAssuming you were not under a coconut shell for the past weeks, you would have read that China has been combating the problem of smog for a fair number of years already, and the latest occurrences have prompted more calls for something concrete to be done by the government of the day as the situation is not getting any better as each year passes by. Having said that, truth being stranger than fiction at times, we have a real life “Aloysius O’Hare” (of The Lorax movie fame) in the form of entrepreneur Chen Guangbiao who has begun to sell canned air. Of course, I am quite sure that rich as he is, the whole idea of selling canned air at 5 yuan each is not to make more money to add to his $740 million fortune, but rather, to stress on a point concerning the toll on the environment.

Apparently, the canned air comes with atmospheric flavours that will include pristine Tibet, post-industrial Taiwan and revolutionary Yan’an. Mr Chen said, ‘If we don’t start caring for the environment then after 20 or 30 years our children and grandchildren might be wearing gas masks and carry oxygen tanks.” Do you think that it is too late to reverse the damage to the environment that was kickstarted by the Industrial Revolution all those years ago?

NailDisplay Technology Puts Nail Polish To Shame

Girls, listen up! I am quite sure that you have managed to amass quite a collection of nail polish over the years, and if you are one who always wears a different color each day and love to accessorize your nails, perhaps it is time you checked out what the 22nd century has on offer – the NailDisplay. Sure, the technology that makes the NailDisplay work is not yet in existence, but it has been theorized by a certain Chao-Huai Su and colleagues over at the National Taiwan University in Taipei.

Basically, the rough and clumsy prototype measures a rather chunky 0.5cm thick, sports a 2.5cm diagonal OLED display that is attached it to a large finger ring so that it can be amply demonstrated. The NailDisplay has different uses, where one of them would be to zoom in on the area of the device’s display underneath it, while it also functions as a display for devices without any display such as the iPod shuffle, showing off control buttons and perhaps video playback. Last but not least, the NailDisplay will show content related to the gestures that your fingers make, thanks to a built-in accelerometer. Hey, if it gets thin enough, it could be used to display a different color and pattern each day, now how about that?

One brand, one promise. These are the driving factors of the major change. The announcement is a bold move for the company, and it will probably be remembered as one of the best decisions it has made. What could be better than to reflect the name of your product to your actual brand name? ”We have transformed ourselves inside and out, and we have defined a revision, a dedication to the boundless opportunities in mobile computing,” Heins said. “Our customers use BlackBerry. Our employees work for BlackBerry, and our shareholders are owners of BlackBerry. From today on, we are BlackBerry everywhere in the world.”

Samsung To Skip Major Announcements In MWC Press Conference

05 samsung logo Samsung To Skip Major Announcements In MWC Press Conference Pocket-Lint has just dropped quite the bombshell – that South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung will skip Mobile World Congress 2013 that is happening in Barcelona, Spain, next month. From what we gather, Samsung will still have a showfloor presence, but they will showcase no new products that are special to them. In a nutshell, you will not find the flagship Samsung Galaxy S4 make an appearance then, and according to whispers on the grapevine, the Galaxy S4 is tipped for a March 2013 event instead.

A March release of the Galaxy S4 would most probably allow it to be released or at least, announced in the market earlier compared to the next generation of the iPhone. From what we can tell, this is very much Samsung’s nature, and if we were to look back in time, MWC 2012 saw Samsung show off some rather mediocre or mid-range devices such as the Galaxy Beam, in addition to tablets like the Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy Note 10.1.
