Adobe Introduces 3D Printing Capabilities In Photoshop

Adobe Introduces 3D Printing Capabilities In PhotoshopThere is nothing quite like having the capability of printing items in 3D, in an affordable manner too, of course. Well, Adobe has done just that, introducing 3D printing capabilities to its Photoshop software that will allow designers to print out three-dimensional models and designs – although one would first need to gain access to a 3D printer before that can be done.

Target Offers Credit Monitoring To Customers After Massive Hack

Target Offers Credit Monitoring To Customers After Massive Hack

Major retailer Target didn’t exactly have a great start to the new year. Earlier this month the retailer acknowledged that it had been the victim of a massive hack that saw personal information, including credit and debit card information, of more than 70 million customers being compromised. Target recently revealed that malware was installed on its point-of-sale registers, and that it is working to law enforcement to bust the perpetrators who are believed to belong to Eastern Europe. In a bid to extend an olive branch to customers scorned by this hack, Target is now offering free credit monitoring to those who may have been affected.

Customers have three months to enroll in this program. They will receive a year of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection. The service, which usually costs $191, will be provided by Experian. A unique activation code for the program can be obtained from creditmonitoring.target.com, customers must register before April 23, 2014. All activation codes have to be redeemed before April 30, 2014. Target’s security breach occurred between November 27 and December 15, if you shopped at any of the retailer’s outlets during this time, it would serve your own interests to sign up. If you believe you weren’t affected, then you’ll truly be one in over 70 million.

Mobile World Congress 2014 Keynote Speakers Include Mark Zuckerberg

The Mobile World Congress 2014 takes place next month in Barcelona. This event is attended by major players in the phone industry, not to mention the fact that there’s coverage from global media. Its certainly a big deal, and we often see new devices being announced at MWC. The event isn’t all about devices, there are meetings and discussions as well as keynote speeches from some of the top people in the industry. This year’s opening keynote isn’t going to be delivered by a CEO of a major phone manufacturer, its going to be delivered by the co-founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg’s keynote speech will open Mobile World Congress 2014 on February 24th, it will be streamed online so you really don’t have to go all the way to Barcelona just to hear him speak. Joining him onstage is renowned journalist David Kirkpatrick. They will discuss “extending the benefits of ubiquitous internet access to the unconnected world.” Zuckerberg isn’t the only high-profile personality making a keynote speech, other speakers include IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum and more. We will be on the ground in Barcelona to bring you the latest updates from MWC 2014. Police Shutdown Pedophile Ring Accused Of Streaming Videos Online

Police Shutdown Pedophile Ring Accused Of Streaming Videos OnlineAs if being able to find photos and videos of child porn online wasn’t horrible enough, it seems that pedophiles have taken their perversion to a whole new level when they started to offer live streaming of videos of people abusing children. Well the good news is that thanks to the combined efforts of police in the UK, US, and Australia, they have managed to take down an international ring of pedophiles who have been accused of streaming live videos of children being abused in the Philippines. According to the report, police have managed to arrest 29 people as part of “Operation Endeavor”. The investigation was launched back in 2012 and while it did take a while, we guess it’s better late than never.

So far 15 children aged between 6 and 15 have been taken into custody, with police estimating that payments amounting to $61,268 have been made so far, with some of them going to the families of the children who reportedly were complicit in selling the videos as well. According to the National Crime Agency’s Deputy Director of Child Exploitation and Online Protection, Andy Baker, “This investigation has identified some extremely dangerous child sexual offenders who believed paying for children to be abused to order was something they could get away with. Being thousands of miles away makes no difference to their guilt. In my mind they are just as responsible for the abuse of these children as the contact abusers overseas.”

Huawei Denies New Allegations Of Intentional Software Vulnerability

Huawei Denies New Allegations Of Intentional Software VulnerabilityIn an interesting turn of events, it seems that Huawei has recently been accused of purposely allowing their products to have weak holes to allow spy agencies, like the NSA, to easily hack into them for spying purposes. Like we said this is rather ironic because it wasn’t too long ago that Huawei was fending off allegations that it was acting as a spy for the Chinese government which almost had the Chinese company exit the US market. Pin Screen On A Building Looks Out Of This World

Pin Screen On A Building Looks Out Of This WorldI am quite sure that when many of us were growing up, we did come across a frame that is full of sliding steel pins that could create a 3D image of whatever solid you placed behind it – such as your hand, or the perennial favorite, a face. Well, how about bringing that idea to the modern day building? This is exactly what British architect Asif Khan set out to do, where he came up with a super sized version of that idea that will be able to show off your face in a 28-foot high dimension on the side of a building.

For Pokémon fans who have always been wondering just how a small Caterpie would look like when it is placed smack right beside the legendary Lugia, fret not. What you see above is an image of all six generations of Pokémon titles, where they have had their silhouettes compiled into a single image.

Japanese Government To Tax Foreign Downloads In 2015

Japanese Government To Tax Foreign Downloads In 2015When it comes to both digital and physical goods, most of the time tax is applied, however due to different countries having differing rates of taxes, sometimes it is actually cheaper if you were to purchase from outside the country and have it imported. For the most part your imports will not be taxed unless it’s above a certain limit which makes it an incredibly attractive solution. However it seems that over in Japan, the government plans on taxing foreign downloads come 2015, meaning that local taxes will be applied to foreign digital downloads, compared to before where they were not taxed locally, but in the country they originated from.

According to the government, prior to this foreign downloads enjoy a “tax-free” (local) existence compared to local downloads which were taxed according to the law. This gave foreign companies an advantage over local vendors which sparked some complaints, which is why this law will be put into place to help placate local vendors who might be have felt wronged by this system. According to Nikkei, the tax will apply to digital content such as e-books, music, apps, and games downloaded from foreign servers. Naturally this will make things more expensive although it is not clear how much more expensive things might get for the residents in Japan. So what do you guys think of this new system?
