Ghostbusters Neutrino Wand Replica: Who Ya Gonna Call?

There are two kinds of people in this world. The ones who call the Ghostbusters and the ones who do the actual ghostbusting. If you want to be a part of the latter, you’d better have the right equipment.

Assuming you already have your Proton Pack and your Ghost Trap, you just need one more tool. Thankfully, Mattel has released a replica of the Ghostbusters Neutrino Wand to help you with your hunting and capturing needs. The company worked with Sony Entertainment to get all the details right and it even has vibrations, kickback, light meter animations, and an extending tip with lights. The sound effects come right from the film itself. There are SO many small details, like much of pieces appearing to be welded together.

So, other than actually emitting a proton beam, it is as authentic as it can be. Check out the video to see the wand in action. And look at that sweet box that it comes in.

Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Push Car is Paranormal

When Cory Newton-Smith made her son Cooper’s DeLorean push car last Halloween, she said that she would love to make epic costumes for her son every year. Fortunately for us, Cory and her husband Jeremy stuck to that promise. This year they dressed up Cooper as a Ghostbuster for Halloween. Naturally his push car had to go as Ecto-1.

Cory modified Cooper’s push car using “cardboard boxes repurposed from their recent move, spare electronics from an old vehicle, salsa cups from Mexican take-out, empty pop bottles, LEDs from the local electronics store, and some paint and tape.” Cory also bought felt replicas of the Proton Pack and Ghost Trap from Etsy shop owner Jezebel Rose. Cooper’s dad Jeremy also stepped up his game from last year. He installed LED lights and Bluetooth speakers that they can use to play the Ghostbusters theme and sound effects from a Windows Phone app.

Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man Meringue Cookies: Who Ya Gonna Eat?

These edible Stay-Puft Marshmallow Men may be smaller than the 112.5 foot-tall Marshmallow Man that rampaged through New York in Ghostbusters, but they will still tread all over your taste buds if you serve them up on Halloween.

You just need some sugar, egg whites, cream of tartar and some colored icing. There is also a meringue recipe as well. These guys look so delicious.

Just remember to actually bake them. Don’t try to think them into existence. We’ve all seen what can happen when you do that.

Who You Gonna Call? The Littlest Ghostbuster and His Adorable Ecto-1

Do you recognize Cooper? Probably not, because he’s a year older than the last time you saw him driving a tiny time-traveling DeLorean and wearing an adorable Marty McFly costume. This year, however, Cooper’s hitting the trick-or-treating circuit in a wonderful Ghostbusters getup complete with his trusty push car turned into an absolutely amazing miniature Ecto-1.

Ghostbusters fans who have deep pockets will appreciate this piece of cinematic history It is one of the original Ghostbusters jumpsuits. It’s the same suit worn by the Dr. Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters 2. No slime or demonic residue or anything. It’s clean.

It has pockets on the sleeve and pants, with an adjustable waist via two sections of Velcro. There is the round Ghostbusters 2 patch on the right sleeve, and on the left chest area is a black and red name patch that says “Spengler” along with the name written in black ink inside the tag of the costume. See, authentic.

Dodge Magnum Ecto-1 Ghostbusters Car: What Ya Gonna Drive?

This is a far cry from the original Cadillac version of the ECTO-1, but this modern reinterpretation of the famous Ghostbusters car is not half bad. Though I think you could do better in an actual new Ghostbusters movie.
ecto 1
This modern version was built by the president of Colorado Movie Cars, Kevin Henry. It is a modern Dodge Magnum Wagon with all the rooftop gadgets that the original car had. Surprisingly, some of the parts are original since Henry was able to scavenge a few pieces from an original filmed version of the car.

As an added bonus, he even got Dan Aykroyd’s signature on the visor. This car ain’t ‘fraid of no ghosts!

My Little Proton Pack: Ghostbusting is Magic

What happens when you combine the chattiness of Pinky Pie with Ghostbusters? You get this awesomely cute My Little Pony proton pack. It won’t capture ghosts, but it will turn that frown upside down.

my little proton pack

This comes from a friend of Judson Hudson who loves to cosplay as a Ghostbuster and Pinkie Pie. An odd combination, but a winning one for little girls and Bronies. This custom proton pack lights up and plays all kinds of sounds.

In fact, just like Pinkie Pie, it seems like it is hard to shut this thing up. Check out the video for all of the sounds this thing does.

80s Pop Culture LEGO Vehicles: Ridin’ Retro

There were a lot of cool cars in 1980s TV shows and movies. We must have been obsessed with cars in that era, because you don’t get these sort of iconic rides anymore. Ralph from Brothers Brick has created some awesome homages to TV and movie vehicles of that era and they look amazing.

lego a team

They look so good, I wish we could buy each as a set and put them together ourselves. These cars even have LEGO characters to go with them. All of our favorites are here: the GMC Vandura from The A-Team, Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters, KITT from Knight Rider, and The General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard.

Fan Builds Replica of Ghostbusters Basement

I love Ghostbusters. Those movies were classics. Ghostbuster Italia community member Guusc72 love hims some ghostbusting action too, and has something strange in his neighborhood in Italy. He went all out, and built himself an incredibly detailed replica of the basement set from Ghostbusters.

ghostbusters replica 2

It even has a containment unit with movie accurate lights, sounds, and… a destruct mode. It may not be 100% accurate, but it’s still pretty damn impressive. The containment unit is even functional like the one in the movie. So what if these guys don’t look like the actual Ghostbusters. This basement rocks. Check out a comparison shot and see for yourself.

Check out this video of the room’s destruct mode.

This is all too awesome for words. He did an awesome job. This guy should charge people for a tour of the place.
