Huawei Glory 4 Or Honor 4 Could Be Introduced Next Week

Huawei Glory 4 Or Honor 4 Could Be Introduced Next WeekHuawei, the OEM from China has recently sent out an invitation for an event that will take place this coming December 16th, and when you take into consideration that the word “Honor” has already been printed on the invite itself, one would be hard pressed to think of anything else other than the fact that this would be the event where the Huawei Honor 4 is launched. Just in case you were wondering, the Huawei Honor 4 is also known as the Huawei Glory 4 in other markets. Regardless, a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet, and the Honor 4/Glory 4 will feature MediaTek’s octa-core MT65492 processor.

This celebrated processor claims to run all 8 cores simultaneously, which will be different from Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 5 chip, where the latter relies on big.LITTLE architecture which would allow a group of four cores to run at any one time. Rumored hardware specifications of the Huawei Honor 4 include a 5.5″ display at 720 x 1280 resolution, 2GB RAM, 32GB of internal memory, a 13MP shooter at the back and a 5MP front facing camera, with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box. Now, to wait for the really serious stuff that all of us have been looking out for – pricing and availability details which will hopefully be revealed on December 16th as well.

Huawei Glory 4 leaks with octa-core chip, 720p display and Android 4.2

It was only a few days ago that we got an early peek at what appears to be Huawei’s Ascend Mate 2. Now, according to our friends over at MyDrivers, it would appear the Chinese company also has a new Glory handset in the works — one which is said to be a planned competitor against the likes of Xiaomi’s Red Rice. Per the report, Huawei intends the Glory 4 to be a budget smartphone that packs a good amount of punch, with features such as MediaTek’s MT6592 chip (aka “the world’s first true octa-core”), 2GB RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The Huawei Glory 4, which could also be known as the Honor in some places, is expected to run Emotion UI 2.0 alongside Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) when it becomes official. Unfortunately, there’s no word on the Glory 4’s screen size, though the recent leak does suggest it’ll be a 720p display onboard.
