The Total Recall Game just launched on Android and iOS to mark the upcoming feature film based on a remake of the 1990 movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger. The new movie is expected to have a different plot compared to the original, and the first-person shooter game will follow the same storyline as the remake.

Gamers who decide to download the app will play as the film’s main character (Douglas Quaid) and will play by fighting their way through New Asia while traveling to the Earth’s core in a mission to search for the “ultimate truth.” The game is said to feature cutting-edge 3D environments taken right out of the film and features comic book-style scenes for each mission. As you continue to make your way through the game, you gain the opportunity to use several different weapons to shoot your enemies.

The game has intuitive touch controls and currently features eight missions with seven more to come. The new film isn’t scheduled to come out for about another week, but the game is now available to purchase from both the iTunes App Store and Google Play for $1.99.

The Nexus Q media streamer might not have generated the same kind of mania as the Nexus 7 tablet, but it’s still good news that Google is now shipping its mysteriously social orb. Google Play has the Q in stock and expects new US orders to arrive on doorsteps within the next three to five days. We’re not expecting the kind of runaway sales of the $299 hub that have made the more utilitarian Nexus 7 hard to find, but anyone who spends a lot of their leisure time in the Google media ecosystem might appreciate the integration. Alas, that made-in-the-USA design still isn’t available outside of the USA, so those in other countries will have to make do with alternatives.

It’s an amazing feat to behold when a company makes a device so popular that it sells out in one store, much less the entirety of the USA – but that’s what Google is doing with the Nexus 7. This ASUS-manufactured tablet appears very much to be capturing the imaginations – and pocketbooks – of users across the United States as well as the UK as retailers both offline and online are showing sold out signs galore. From what we understand it appears that 3rd party retailers are “frantically” attempting to get more units in stock as ASUS and Google make moves to make it all happen smoothly.

Those of you looking to grab one of these swiftly moving devices will want to head to the Google Play store, the only location that appears to have the 8GB model of the tablet in stock. [The Google Play online shop currently has 3-5 day shipping] listed aside this smaller of the two tablets right this minute. The 16GB model of the tablet is completely out of stock at the moment at the Google Play store online.

You can also of course head to eBay, but you’re going to be seeing something like a 30-40% cost over retail if you do. Otherwise you might be out of luck for the larger tablet – while the smaller one is good to go, again, on Google Play. Ever since introducing the Google Music app in beta last year its developers have been hard at work trimming away the rougher edges and that’s never been more evident than in the new 4.3.606 version now available for download. While Google Play Music’s overall look hasn’t shifted significantly, the changelog and a quick spin using it reveal nearly every screen has had some slight change. As seen above, the recently played screen now features larger album art, while the action bar has been adjusted with different transport controls. In this version, users have the ability to adjust and reorder music in the Now Playing queue, while a refreshed widget shows off album art and allows for thumbs up without opening the app. The settings menu has a direct link to the Nexus Q control app (assuming you can run it, and have one), hit the Play store for the updated version to try it out yourself.

Itching to get your hands on the Google Nexus 7? The highly sought-after tablet is now listed as “in stock” at the Google Play Store, with orders shipping out immediately. Previously, the Google Play listing for the Nexus 7 said that shipping would take 1-2 weeks. However, be warned that this “in stock” status only applies to the $199 8GB model, as Google seems to be running low on 16GB models – the listing for those has been updated as well, but now the 16GB model has an estimated delivery of 3-4 weeks. Ouch.

It could be that Google was expecting the 8GB model to be the more popular of the pair. With a pretty attractive price point of $199, that logic doesn’t seem like it would be too far off the mark, but it looks as if Google was mistaken. Then again, it’s also possible that Google made a significant number of 16GB Nexus 7s, but it turned out that the 16GB model was incredibly popular consumers and now Google is struggling to keep up with demand.

Whatever the reason, Google now has Nexus 7s ready to ship to your door, so long as you don’t mind ordering the 8GB model. If you do mind, Android Community suggests looking at brick and mortar retail stores like GameStop and Staples. It’s possible that they’ll have a few 16GB tablets on hand, but don’t get your hopes up – it’s very likely that the 16GB Nexus 7 is in short supply throughout the country, not just at the Google Play Store.
