Rockstar Rewarding Unique Selfies With GTA 5 #EpicPhotobomb Contest

Rockstar announced earlier today Grand Theft Auto V has shipped 29 million copies ever since it was first released last month, which is an extremely impressive amount considering the game has only been out for a little over a month. One feature of the game that surprised many players when they first started playing Grand Theft Auto V was the fact you could take selfies with the cellphones of in-game characters, resulting in many humorous images to be posted online. Rockstar realizes you all really enjoy this feature, and as a result has put together its first Snapmatic Photo Contest. (more…)

GTA 5 Earns $1 Billion In Three Days

GTA 5 Earns $1 Billion In Three Days

The most hotly anticipated console game of this season is without a doubt Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5. Only yesterday we reported that GTA 5 had earned a staggering $800 million on the first day alone. This incredible feat made it the fastest selling video game around the world. The game has smashed yet another record, it is now the fastest title to earn $1 billion. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 holds the previous record, it crossed the billion market 15 days after its release. GTA 5 has done it in  just three days.

Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto 5, made this announcement today through an official statement, though it hasn’t revealed exactly how many copies have been sold. GTA 5 is currently only available on PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, though a petition to have it brought over to the PC is quickly gaining steam. Take-Two believes that this is “the fastest that any entertainment property, including video games and feature films, has reached this significant milestone.” It goes without saying that GTA 5 will bring in a lot of money, the initial launch frenzy may have died down but the game is going to continue selling like hot cakes. Lets see how long it takes Grand Theft Auto 5 to rake another billion dollars.

New GTA 5 Screenshots Feature Heists, Scuba And Ridiculous Costumes

It was just last week when Rockstar Games released three trailers for the main characters we’ll be getting to know better in Grand Theft Auto 5: Michael, Franklin and Trevor. It looks like Rockstar is yet again gracing us with some new Grand Theft Auto content as they have released twelve new screenshots for you to ogle at.

The new screenshots for Grand Theft Auto 5 seem to highlight a number of missions you’ll be performing within the game as we can see Trevor tapping into his inner scuba diver, Franklin looking like a badass on a motorcycle wearing a helmet with a skull painted on it, and Michael driving a luxury vehicle along a dirt road. Our absolute favorite of the twelve screenshots has got to be the one featured above, which features all three characters wearing some ridiculous outfits. (more…)

GTA 5 Trailers Starring Michael, Franklin & Trevor Coming April 30

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 has already been featured in two official trailers over the past couple of months, and it looks like the company is preparing to release a set of brand new trailers next week.

The Grand Theft Auto 5 website was updated earlier this morning teasing the upcoming trailer by simply saying, “Michael. Franklin. Trevor,” which are the names of the main characters we’ll be playing as in the upcoming title. Underneath their names, the words “Trailers 4.30″ is mentioned, which leads us to believe there won’t just be one trailer debuting on April 30, but instead three separate trailers, which we would assume highlights each character in their own dedicated video. Pre Ordering GTA 5 Will Get You 1,600 Microsoft PointsMicrosoft’s Points system for the Xbox is basically what gamers use to purchase things on Xbox Live (points are bought with real money), such as DLCs, digital games and the likes. However in an interesting twist, it seems that Microsoft is currently offering 1,600 Microsoft Points to gamers who go ahead and pre-order Grand Theft Auto 5 for the Xbox 360! According to the fine print, this deal will last until the end of 2013, which means that you guys still have a while before the offer expires. At the moment Grand Theft Auto 5 is expected to be released on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, no word on whether it will see a release on next-gen consoles, or if these points will be applicable to Microsoft’s rumored Xbox 720, but in any case for gamers who plan to play this on their Xbox 360, head on over to Microsoft’s website for the details.
