GTA 5 Box Art Unveiled Highlighting All Three Lead Characters

GTA 5 Box Art Unveiled Highlighting All Three Lead Characters

We recently found out a mural was going up in New York City which we believe to be the official box art of Grand Theft Auto V. The mural was in the process of going up, but we can clearly see the words “Grand Theft” as well as the top of the “V” symbol in the unfinished art. It looks as though the unveiling of Grand Theft Auto V’s box art was going to be sooner than we thought as Rockstar Games has just released it to the public.

The GTA V box art Rockstar Games released today keeps the layout we all have come to expect from the box art of Grand Theft Auto games. “Grand Theft Auto V” is prominently displayed at the front of the image, while a number of visuals are seen behind and surrounding the title’s name. A helicopter shoot missiles, a Rottweiler barking ferociously and all three main characters showing up in different portions of the box art. This is the first game where multiple characters will play the lead role, so it’s good to see Rockstar fit them all in the game’s official box art.

GTA 5 Screenshots Highlight Multiple Views Of Los Santos

There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind one of the biggest games to be released this year is Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V. The game was originally supposed to be released this month, but was then delayed until September 2013, which Take Two’s CEO explained why exactly the game had to be delayed. It’s been over a month since we heard anything regarding Grand Theft Auto V, but Rockstar broke its silence today by releasing some brand-new screenshots of the game.

A total of ten images were released showcasing a wide variety of things that include jumping out of planes, deep-sea diving and what looks to be a young thug firing off a mini gun. Rockstar Games also released a few scenic shots of Los Santos showing off a gorgeous view of some mountains, a beautiful sunset and a storm brewing over a boardwalk. (more…)

Frequent Release Of GTA Sequels Will Degrade The Franchise According To ExecutivesThere are developers out there who pump out sequels to their games frequently. In fact take a look at Ubisoft who released Assassin’s Creed 3 last year, only to follow up with Assassin’s Creed 4 this year. While there are pros and cons to such frequent releases, when it comes to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, you might be interested to learn that such frequent releases will not take place. According to Take Two’s COO, Karl Slatoff in an interview with Gamespot, he believes that by releasing games too frequently it will “degrade” the franchise. (more…)

Grand Theft Auto 5 Delayed Until September 2013

Grand Theft Auto 5 Delayed Until September 2013

One of the biggest games to be released in the first quarter of 2013 has just become one of the biggest games to be released in the third quarter as Rockstar Games is announcing today its Grand Theft Auto 5 is being delayed until September 2013.

Rockstar has been teasing gamers for the past couple of months with a combination of screenshots and trailers while its release date has been pushed back on a regular basis. We first heard rumors of a possible December 2012 release, then Rockstar revealed they’d be releasing the game this March, but today has crushed their fans hopes in having the game available in two months.

Before you head to Rockstar Games’ social media profiles to complain, there is good news in all this as the company did confirm an official release date. Grand Theft Auto 5 will be releasing on September 17, 2013 on Xbox 360 and PS3. That is – unless they decide to announce another delay, but something tells us that won’t happen again.

OK – now that all of the information is out there, feel free to do what you do best: head to Twitter and Facebook and complain to Rockstar about today’s news. We’re sure they’ll love to hear what you have to say.

Grand Theft Auto 5 leaked promotional materials give away some of the locations within the game

Rockstar has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be headed our way in Spring 2013, and that pre-orders of the game will begin on the 5th of November. Retailers are supposed to start putting up promotional material then but it looks like those promo materials have since been leaked, which not only gives us a glimpse at some of the freebies that pre-orders of the game will net you, but it also revealed some locations within the game.

As you can see in the image above, it looks like those who pre-order will be able to get their hands on what appears to be a keychain image viewer. Additional promotional materials include some posters which revealed the Zancudo River, the Vinewood Hills, the Del Perro Pier, the Vespucci Canals and Grapeseed. We’re not sure what exactly those areas will feature, but it does give us a clue as to what we might be able to expect. Hopefully more details will be given once pre-orders go live, so do check back with us then for the updates! So, who’s planning on pre-ordering themselves a copy of the game?

Grand Theft Auto 5 confirmed for Spring 2013 release, pre-orders begin 5th November

Remember yesterday we reported that according to leaked promo materials, it was suggested that Grand Theft Auto 5 could be released in the Spring of 2013? Well the good news is that Rockstar has come forward and officially announced the Spring release themselves. No word on when we can expect a launch for the PC, but according to the blog post, the Spring release is for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

“Hey guys, glad to see so much enthusiasm about the release announcement. For those asking about the PC platform, we’re currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don’t have any details to share about a PC version at this time.”

Now for the even better news, it seems that gamers can look forward to begin the pre-orders on the 5th of November. We’re not sure if there will be any collector’s editions available or special pre-order bonuses, but Rockstar has stated that more information will be available come November. So, who’s excited? I know I am!

Leaked Grand Theft Auto 5 promo materials point at Spring 2013 release

A couple of weeks ago, an analyst predicted that Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 will be dropping come March 2013. Well thanks to what appears to be leaked promotional items for the game, it looks like that March 2013 timeframe could be right on the money, or at least close. The promotional material (pictured) above is thanks to Polish website, gta-five.pl, who managed to get their hands on the photos. As you  can see, the poster reads “pre-order now” followed by “Spring 2013”, which we are taking to mean a possible release date. We have seen many retailers hedge their bets on when the game will be released, along with a slew of analysts who offered up various dates, but so far these leaked promotional materials seem to be the most legit piece of evidence we’ve seen to date. However since there is no official word from Rockstar yet, we suggest you not read too much into this for now and take it with a grain of salt.

Rockstar unveils first official Grand Theft Auto 5 artwork

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 is most likely looking at a 2013 release, but so far not much about the game has been revealed, i.e. gameplay, features, system requirements, story and etc. So far Rockstar has released several screenshots from the game in the past, highlighting the pretty awesome graphics that gamers can expect to see. Well Rockstar has now released the first official artwork from the upcoming game, giving us a look at some characters from the game disguised as pest control workers while wielding some pretty serious firepower. In any case the artwork looks pretty good and according to the Rockstar blog, lots of info will be coming next month. We’re not sure what they mean by that – could they be talking about a release date or game features? Either way we guess we will have to wait and find out, but do check back with us then for the latest updates!

Rockstar launches official Grand Theft Auto 5 Facebook page

Whether Rockstar’s highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 5 will see a release before March 2013 remains to be seen, but for those who can’t wait to get their hands on the game, Rockstar has since launched the official Grand Theft Auto 5 Facebook page. At the moment the page is kind of barren, although we expect that updates regarding the game’s status, screenshots, announcements and the like will populate the page in due time. However according to Just Push Start, it seems that the Game Informer magazine will be revealing more about Grand Theft Auto 5 in their next issue, which had them speculating that perhaps Rockstar could be close to finishing the game and will have some new material in which they can share with their fans. In any case we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled, so do check back with us from time to time for updates on the game, or you can head on over to the official Grand Theft Auto 5 Facebook where Rockstar will hopefully have some material to share soon.

GameStop UK pegs Grand Theft Auto 5 release for 1st March 2013

We know that a release date for Grand Theft Auto 5 has yet to be determined, but at the same time we guess this doesn’t stop retailers to post dates on their websites which may or may not be accurate. While it might still be a bit too early to tell, GameStop UK has posted on their website a possible release date for Grand Theft Auto 5, which they have revealed to be for the 1st of March 2013. Now it is more than likely that Grand Theft Auto 5 will see a release in 2013, although a specific date has yet to be officially announced. GameStop could simply be guessing or they might know something we don’t – either way we suggest you not get your hopes up just yet, but if you had to venture a guess, when do you think Rockstar will officially release Grand Theft Auto 5 to the eager hands of the masses?
