GTA Online Believed To Receive Microtranscations Treatment [Rumor]

GTA Online Believed To Receive Microtranscations Treatment [Rumor]

Just the other day, we reported on a rumor Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 could possibly be jumping onto the microtransaction bandwagon in the near future. The rumor originated from someone on Reddit who happened to stumble onto the game requesting an XML file hosted on Rockstar’s site when attempting to access the store section in the game’s pause menu. It looks like if Rockstar Games is planning on offering microtransaction within Grand Theft Auto 5, it’ll be doing so once Grand Theft Auto Online launches.

The images Reddit user 1880 found look to offer in-game credit that range from $100,000 all the way up to $1.25 million in-game cash. In addition to those images, the following description was also found in the XML file:

“Cash is king in this town. Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character’s bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting.”

At this point, Rockstar isn’t commenting on this recent discovery, although if Rockstar plans on making microtransactions possible in Grand Theft Auto Online, we’re sure they’ll make their announcement closer to its launch, which will take place on October 1.

Real Life Grand Theft Auto Would Be Way More Fun Than GTA V

As an ode to Niko Bellic from GTA IV, Andrew McMurry imagined what a real life version of GTA would look like. In this short, Niko loses his all powerful cell phone and a random passerby manages to get a hold of it. He can cue up outfit changes, special powers, rocket launchers and the ability to ditch the cops. Can you imagine all the chaos you would create in such a lawless world? Grand Theft Auto V pre-orders ship early, Amazon UK learns crime doesn’t pay

Amazon hijacks GTA V shipment embargo

Amazon could find itself struck off Rockstar Games’ Christmas card list after it delivered Grand Theft Auto V preorders to customers in the UK in advance of its September 17th release. Some customers reported receiving shipping notifications over the weekend, with additional reports suggesting the game had made it to some doorsteps as early as Saturday. Games Industry says that the company is already investigating these early sales, although we wouldn’t put it past some silent, rogue type like Claude from GTA 3. Microsoft is reportedly banning Xbox Live accounts belonging to those that shared early footage of the game, so if you did receive an early copy, make sure to refrain from sharing your impressive bank heists on social media and video sites until release day.

    GTA 5 Achievements Leaked

GTA 5 Achievements LeakedWell, well, what do we have here? At the end of last week, there was much shared about GTA 5 Online, and here we are with a whole list of leaks concerning Grand Theft Auto 5′s Achievements, which is a full month ahead of the title’s official release (which will most probably do extremely well when it arrives at store shelves as most analysts do anticipate that). X360A were the ones behind the posting of the complete list of Achievements, which showed that Xbox 360 players will be rewarded Gamerscore for exploring San Andreas in its entirety, completing the game in its fullness (100%), as well as finishing all Rampages among others.

As for those of you who are looking forward to the PS3 Trophy list, you will just have to be patient, as it has yet to be revealed, although we do expect it to look pretty much the same. The full list can be seen after the jump.
