Grand Theft Auto 5 Petition Passes 110,000 Signature Mark

On the last day of last month, we did bring you word that the Grand Theft Auto 5 has touched the 100,000 petition mark, and here we are just a wee bit after that (where most folks would be spending most of their weekend away from the computer) receiving news that the number of signatures on the petition for Grand Theft Auto 5 to appear onto the PC have surpassed the 110,000 mark – a few short of 111,000, in fact. It had always been Rockstar’s “policy”, if you can call it that, to deliver their signature Grand Theft Auto titles to the PC platform sooner or later, regardless of whether folks petitioned for it, but to see this petition snowball into such a figure within a short period of time is definitely something worth mulling over.

Of course, if you were a PC gamer, you too, would want Rockstar to get off on the right footing by ensuring that the Grand Theft Auto 5 version on the PC would be a well done port instead of a gimped version just to satiate the wants of the masses. You know what they say, ask, and it shall be given unto you…

Gamers launch GTA 5 petition to bring the game onto the PC

As some of you might have heard by now, the fate of Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PC platform remains unknown. According to a recent statement by Rockstar’s Dan Houser, the PC version of the game remains under consideration which certainly does not bode well for PC gamers. Well the good news is that if you’re a PC gamer and were looking forward to playing the game on your PC, a petition has been launched in which they are asking Rockstar to release GTA 5 for the PC. According to the petition: (more…)

GTA 5 PC Fate Remains Unknown

There has been plenty of buzz surrounding Grand Theft Auto 5 in recent weeks, where we do know that the game itself has been confirmed to arrive on the PS3 as well as Xbox 360 sometime in spring next year, but other than those two consoles, there has been no mention of other platforms to date. If one were to turn back the clock and look at history objectively, majority of Rockstar games do make their way to the PC platform, and we have more or less an idea on when that would happen, but when it comes to GTA 5, the issue of a PC version of the game remains in the balance, as Rockstar’s Dan Houser mentioned that other platforms are under “consideration.”

This is what Houser said in a recent interview, “Everything else is up for consideration. That’s all I can give you. The main thing is we are not… we are a third-party publisher. We’re not Nintendo, we’re not Sony, we’re not Microsoft. We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there’s the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market. If that’s on Apple we put something on Apple. Wherever it might be. I think that’s the fun in what we do. We see ourselves as a content company that uses technology. We don’t make it; we use it to make the most fun stuff.”

Do you hope for it to hit the PC platform if you don’t own either one of the two consoles that GTA 5 is headed for?

Nintendo and Rockstar remain open to the idea of Grand Theft Auto making its way onto the Wii U

We know that Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto 5 will be released for both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, but what about Nintendo’s recently launched Wii U? Will they be getting any GTA love in the future? While that remains to be seen, it is good to know that both Rockstar and Nintendo are open to the idea at the very least. In a recent interview with MTV Multiplayer, Nintendo USA’s Reggie Fils-Aime was quoted as saying that Rockstar has made some nice public comments about their console, and that Nintendo’s goal is to provide developers with the help they need in order to bring their “best content” onto their platform.

On Rockstar’s end, head writer Dan Houser was quoted in an interview with IGN as saying that the Wii U was not barred from consideration, and that Rockstar will be following good business opportunities when they present themselves. Of course neither of these comments confirms that GTA 5 will be available for the Wii U, but it’s good to know that they haven’t closed any doors.

If you’d like to learn more about what you can expect in Grand Theft Auto 5, then December’s issue of Game Informer might be a copy you’ll want to pick up because according to its editor-in-chief, Andy McNamara, this issue “will have more screens & information than any previous Rockstar reveal we have done (maybe any cover)”. That being said, it looks like someone managed to get their hands on a copy of the magazine before anyone else and has since uploaded a photo of what looks like a man with an Uzi riding on top of a waverider. Apart from that we guess that’s not much to go on, but the copy of Game Informer is expected to be released later today, so we guess more details will be revealed, until then we guess you will have to make do this with leaked photo. GTA 5 is expected to be released in Spring 2013 and the second trailer of the game will be released next Wednesday, so check back with us then for the details! In the meantime what do you guys think? Grand Theft Auto 5 leaked promotional materials give away some of the locations within the game

Rockstar has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 will be headed our way in Spring 2013, and that pre-orders of the game will begin on the 5th of November. Retailers are supposed to start putting up promotional material then but it looks like those promo materials have since been leaked, which not only gives us a glimpse at some of the freebies that pre-orders of the game will net you, but it also revealed some locations within the game.

As you can see in the image above, it looks like those who pre-order will be able to get their hands on what appears to be a keychain image viewer. Additional promotional materials include some posters which revealed the Zancudo River, the Vinewood Hills, the Del Perro Pier, the Vespucci Canals and Grapeseed. We’re not sure what exactly those areas will feature, but it does give us a clue as to what we might be able to expect. GTA 5 arrives in April 2013, DLC has “a lot of interesting stuff”

Since we do know that the hotly anticipated GTA 5 title will be heading our way sometime in Q1 of 2013, here we are with more information on the title, thanks to Take-Two CEO’s Strauss Zelnick loose lips, pointing out that Rockstar has “a lot of interesting stuff” in store for the GTA 5 DLC. The thing is, he also mentioned in the same conversation that it is “way too early” to discuss just what kind of interesting stuff that the GTA 5 DLC will carry.

Zelnick shared, “I think you can safely assume that Rockstar, as the label that led the charge in downloadable content with Grand Theft Auto 4, I think you’d have every reason to believe, purely because of the ground-breaking nature of the title itself and the multiplayer in the title, that there’s going to be a lot of interesting stuff. But I’ll leave that to Rockstar to announce.”

Well, we do hope to hear more about GTA 5 from next week onwards, but chances are there will not be anything mentioned or shared about Rockstar’s plans for the DLC. So far, Take-Two confirmed that GTA 5 will arrive in April next year, which means it is slightly late for the Q1 time window which closes in March.
