Sony Promises To Improve PSN For PS4 Following GTA 5 Woes

Sony Promises To Improve PSN For PS4 Following GTA 5 Woes

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 was released last week to insane demand and the PlayStation Network, through which the game was being digitally distributed, had a tough time coping up with it. Multiple reports of download and installation issues come in, the error code 80029563 become the source of great aggravation for many gamers. One can’t fathom how it feels when an 18GB download goes corrupt. When gamers face similar issues with the PlayStation 4 when it is finally released later this year? Sony executive Fergal Gara assures everyone that there are “big innovations in the PS4 to make it more attractive and more easy gamer wise to want to download.”

Gara acknowledges the fact that gamers have faced these issues on the PS3 with PlayStation Network and that Sony could do better in this particular area. One PS4 innovation he talked about is the Play as you Download functionality, through which certain games will be playable even if they’ve not been fully downloaded. Gara admits that downloading games is still a tedious process, and says that Sony has done “a lot of work on pre-delivering files.” “It’s not perfect, It’s not seamless,” he says. The PlayStation 4 will be released in the U.S. and several select markets on November 15th.

GTA 5 PC Petition Reaches Over 550,000 Signatures

Each day that passes in the life of a PC gamer is probably tougher to get through than the last considering Rockstar Games had the gall to release Grand Theft Auto 5 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 without even thinking of the PC gamers. Because of that, PC gamers have taken to Change.org’s petition to hopefully bring Grand Theft Auto 5 to the PC, with the petition hitting over 450,000 signatures last week shortly after the game’s official release. It hasn’t even been a full week since we reported the petition hitting 450,000 signatures, and today, the petition has received over 100,000 signatures, making the new tally over 550,000 signatures. GTA 5 iFruit Kit Now Available For Your iPhone

GTA 5 iFruit Kit Now Available For Your iPhoneIf you have seen some of the Grand Theft Auto 5 posters, you might have noticed that one of the “models” can be seen posing in a bikini and taking a photo with her iPhone. Well, actually make that an iFruit, especially since we expect Rockstar probably doesn’t want to pay Apple any licensing fees just for using its likeness in a game. In any case if you thought that the iFruit phone looked pretty cool, you can now get one for yourself for just $13, although you would be required to own an iPhone first.

Made by MobileFun, this kit is basically a vinyl sticker that will stick to the back of your iPhone 5 or iPhone 5s and transform the Apple logo into the “iFruit” logo, as well as replace the iPhone name with the “iFruit” moniker. According to MobileFun, this will be the most accurate fit on the market and will measure less than 1mm thick, so if you have a case for your iPhone, this should not pose any problems, and for those who enjoy how thin their phone is, the sticker shouldn’t add any unnecessary bulk either. You will be able to pick up the iFruit sticker for yourself via MobileFun’s website.

    GTA 5 Could Get Microtransactions

GTA 5 Could Get MicrotransactionsIt was just last week that Rockstar finally released Grand Theft Auto 5 to the masses on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which went on to earn $800 million in the first day, $1 billion in three days, and secured itself the number one spot on the UK charts. Now if you were looking for more features that could be introduced to the game, you might be in luck because thanks to a Redditor, he has found data which points towards the possibility that Rockstar might introduce microtransactions within the game at a future date.

For those unfamiliar, microtransactions are basically items/perks that gamers can purchase within a game using real money. For apps this would be known as in-app purchases. Some games, such as Team Fortress 2, have microtransactions where players can buy different hats for cosmetic purposes. Other games use microtransactions to allow players to advance quicker within the game, and also create a new form of revenue. There’s no telling if and when Rockstar will introduce it to the game, and for all we know it could have merely been an idea at one point in time that did not make the final cut, but what do you guys think? Would you like to see microtransactions make its way into GTA 5?
