GTA 5 Achieves Number 1 Spot On UK Charts

GTA 5 Achieves Number 1 Spot On UK ChartsWith Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 earning $1 billion in sales so far, it is without doubt a commercial success, and now according to the folks at Chart-Track, it looks like over in the UK, GTA 5 has managed to rocket to the number 1 spot. According to the data gathered by Chart-Track, GTA 5 has managed to sell more in its first compared compared to all the other GTA titles sold combined. In fact GTA 5 has also managed to beat the record set by Call of Duty: Black Ops, by selling almost 250,000 more units, and has even become the 24th biggest selling title of all time in the UK after less than a week of going up for sale.

As it stands GTA 5 is available on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. There is no word on whether Rockstar plans to add next-gen console support such as the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, or for the PC platform whose gamers have managed to gather almost half a million signatures for the petition. We can only imagine that Rockstar’s sales figures would have been much higher if the game had been released for the PC as well. In any case we expect GTA 5 to go on and record more impressive numbers in the weeks and months ahead, but in the meantime have you guys managed to get your hands on a copy of the game yet?

Man Robbed Of His GTA 5 Copy

Man Robbed Of His GTA 5 CopyRohan Dawkins, a Delray Beach, Florida native whom you see in the image above,on the left, who also is a student at a local ACCESS program for adults with intellectual disabilities, happened to be on his way home after he managed to save up enough money through good old fashioned, honest hard work to purchase a copy of GTA 5 when he was set upon by a married couple who punched and kicked him in order to relieve him of his GTA 5 copy.

Thankfully, all is all right now, as the adequate amount of media coverage has had locals doing their bit to make Dawkins’ life a whole lot more pleasant after that incident. In fact, Dawkins has already managed to pick up a replacement copy thanks to one of his fellow ACCESS students, while he also received additional offers for assistance, including a GameStop that claimed they will pass to him a collectors edition of GTA V. Not only that, there was another anonymous local who intends to purchase for him an annual bus pass considering how Dawkins takes the public transport in order to commute to and from his job. Even better news, both suspects in the robbery, Tommy Davis and Adele Jones, have already been arrested after they were successfully identified on CCTV footage. All’s well that ends well, right?

GTA 5 Crashing For Older Xbox 360 Consoles

GTA 5 Crashing For Older Xbox 360 ConsolesRockstar’s recently released Grand Theft Auto 5 has been designed for both the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 in mind (PC and next-gen console support have yet to be announced), however it seems that owners of older Xbox 360 models are reporting that they are unable to enjoy the game properly as the game has been crashing continuously. According to reports, this stems from gamers who might have bought their Xbox 360 consoles in between 2006 and 2008 (whether brand new or refurbished), and if you hit up the GTA 5 forums, you will be able to check out the entire list of complaints from annoyed Xbox 360 gamers.

Some gamers speculate that it could be a memory issue that could be the reason behind the constant crashes. Older Xbox 360 consoles came with a 20GB HDD, and after the game’s 8GB install (presumably along with other games), gamers are left with only a few hundred MB which could account for the crashing. When they contacted Rockstar, the solution provided was a hit and miss with gamers. It basically involves the deletion of the game and clearing the system cache multiple times before attempting to reinstall the game. We’re not sure what else Rockstar is able to do to help these GTA 5 gamers, but any of our readers experiencing similar problems with their console?

GTA 5 Earns $1 Billion In Three Days

GTA 5 Earns $1 Billion In Three Days

The most hotly anticipated console game of this season is without a doubt Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5. Only yesterday we reported that GTA 5 had earned a staggering $800 million on the first day alone. This incredible feat made it the fastest selling video game around the world. The game has smashed yet another record, it is now the fastest title to earn $1 billion. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 holds the previous record, it crossed the billion market 15 days after its release. GTA 5 has done it in  just three days.

Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto 5, made this announcement today through an official statement, though it hasn’t revealed exactly how many copies have been sold. GTA 5 is currently only available on PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, though a petition to have it brought over to the PC is quickly gaining steam. Take-Two believes that this is “the fastest that any entertainment property, including video games and feature films, has reached this significant milestone.” It goes without saying that GTA 5 will bring in a lot of money, the initial launch frenzy may have died down but the game is going to continue selling like hot cakes. Lets see how long it takes Grand Theft Auto 5 to rake another billion dollars.

GTA 5 Cheats Let You Unleash Vehicle Hell

Rockstar Games could not have asked for a better opening day sales for GTA 5, where the title already raked in a whopping $800 million in sales, which is a whole lot more than you could actually amass in the game itself. Heck, it has also made back far more money on the first day compared to a movie, and I am quite sure that blockbusters on the silver screen as well as in the world of video games are starting to be on par with one another when it comes to earning power, with fans on each side of the divide having their own argument as to which is better. Never mind that, here we are with a video of GTA 5 cheats in action which will allow you to create complete vehicle carnage. Be warned, the video itself is rather lengthy, so you might want to make a cup of hot chocolate before you sit down and watch it.

The reviewers in the video took half an hour to spawn as many vehicles as they could, before they set them alight and caused quite a carnage which no traffic officer would want to handle, even on his or her best day at work. Just for those who have recently climbed out from their shell, GTA 5 is available for both Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles at the moment, while GTA Online will launch this coming October 1st.

GTA 5 PC Petition Boosted To Over 450,000 Signatures Shortly After Release

GTA 5 PC Petition Boosted To Over 450,000 Signatures Shortly After Release

One day prior to the release of Grand Theft Auto 5, PC gamers helped a petition located on Change.org to jump from 200,000 signatures back in late July up to 350,000 signatures. Now that the game is available for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, PC gamers really don’t have anything better to do than complain they don’t have a version of Grand Theft Auto 5 to play, and as a result, the Change.org petition has jumped to over 450,000 signatures. GTA 5 Generates $800 Million In First Day Sales

GTA 5 Generates $800 Million In First Day Sales

Rockstar Games released its open-world crime simulator Grand Theft Auto 5 this week, which as a result has created quite a few stories of interest including a retailer handing out “fake cocaine“ to those who pre-ordered the game, a robbery and some guys acting like police officers in order to get the game early. As crazy as people have been going over Grand Theft Auto 5, there isn’t any news as crazy as reports of how much the game sold on its first day.

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 made a total of $800 million in just its first day of sales worldwide, according to Take-Two. This makes Grand Theft Auto 5 the leader in terms of highest first-day retail sales for Take-Two as well as any previously released Grand Theft Auto game and is set to break other records soon as analysts believe the game will cross the $1 billion threshold very soon.

What probably helped in the game receiving this kind of reception was due to the fact around 8,300 retail stores in North America held special midnight openings in order to meet consumer demand for the title. We’re sure it’ll only be a matter of days until we hear Grand Theft Auto 5 has hit $1 billion in sales, with sales certainly expected to pick up over the upcoming holiday season.

GTA 5 Publicity Stunt In Paris Goes Wrong, Police Show Up

GTA 5 Publicity Stunt In Paris Goes Wrong, Police Show UpThere seems to be a bit of controversy surrounding the launch of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5, with gamers pretending to be cops just to cut the line, fake cocaine, and even a real-life criminal case where a man was stabbed before being robbed of his copy of Grand Theft Auto 5! If you’re a believer in the mantra of, “there’s no such thing as bad publicity”, over in France it seems that an attempt to hype up the launch of the game and keep in the theme of GTA, two Micromania employees in Montargis, a town south of Paris, decided to dress up like thugs complete with face masks and toy guns.

For those who don’t play the game, we guess it can be easily misconstrued that the two “thugs” were up to no good, which is what a passerby did and alerted the police. About 15 police officers showed up with submachine guns, but thankfully no one was hurt in the process. According to an officer, the situation could have ended badly and we can’t help but agree. Either way all of this is drawing attention to the game which has since managed go on and make an astounding $800 million within 24 hours of going on sale. We can only imagine as time passes just how much more the developers will be able to rake in!

Grand Theft Auto 5 Pulls In An Amazing $800 Million In 24 Hours

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of the most anticipated games of 2013 and undoubtedly will bring in a lot of sales for the developer, but exactly how much? Well according to Take-TwoGrand Theft Auto 5 Pulls In An Amazing $800 Million In 24 Hours, the company managed to pull in a whopping $800 million in 24 hours, making this the most successful Grand Theft Auto game to date (as far as first day sales are concerned, gameplay and feedback could be a different story).

According to Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, “All of us at Take-Two are thrilled with the initial response to Grand Theft Auto V. Once again, the team at Rockstar Games have outdone themselves, setting the entertainment industry’s new standard for creativity, innovation and excellence.”

While the company probably has other expenses and bills they need to pay, the $800 million in sales has probably allowed the company to at least recover the cost of making the game, which according to earlier reports had it pegged at $265 million, making it one of the most expensive video games made to date. So, who else got their hands on Grand Theft Auto 5 when it was released?

Violent GTA 5 Robbery Committed By 3 Young Men

Violent GTA 5 Robbery Committed By 3 Young MenPlenty has been said about GTA 5, the recently released title on current generation consoles that look set to sell like hot cakes and in the process, perhaps break some sales records or two? Well, one thing is for sure – the GTA game series is not a title that you would use to nanny younger children, which is good since I believe they would much rather want to catch ‘em all in Pokemon, too. Well, having said that, a trio of teenagers were arrested on suspicion of robbery, where the robbery saw the following items stolen – a watch, a mobile phone, and a copy of Grand Theft Auto 5.

These three males, aged 15, 16, and 18, happen to be in custody at a north London police station at the moment after a rather violent attack on Tuesday. The Metropolitan Police did mention in a statement that a 23-year-old man who was on his way home happened to be hit with a brick followed by by stabbed, before he was robbed and relieved of his possessions, the GTA 5 copy included. Is this a case of life imitating life? There is just something about GTA 5 that drives people to do some nutty stuff, including masquerading as cops to pick up a copy of GTA 5 early.
