Frequent Release Of GTA Sequels Will “Degrade” The Franchise According To Executives

Frequent Release Of GTA Sequels Will Degrade The Franchise According To ExecutivesThere are developers out there who pump out sequels to their games frequently. In fact take a look at Ubisoft who released Assassin’s Creed 3 last year, only to follow up with Assassin’s Creed 4 this year. While there are pros and cons to such frequent releases, when it comes to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, you might be interested to learn that such frequent releases will not take place. According to Take Two’s COO, Karl Slatoff in an interview with Gamespot, he believes that by releasing games too frequently it will “degrade” the franchise. (more…)

Grand Theft Auto IV Mod Brings Toy Story’s Woody, Buzz To Liberty City

Grand Theft Auto V’s release date getting pushed back to September 2013 when it was originally expected to be released in Q1 2013 was quite the bummer. Sure – there are some amazing games to already look forward to in this month alone, but all of them would probably pale in comparison to GTA V. Until the game finally gets released this September, we guess all we could do is sit around and play GTA IV as Toy Story characters.

A new mod that’s available for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV removes that pesky Niko Bellic with a giant Woody doll that’s capable of performing iconic moves from the Street Fighter series as well as Skyrim. Oh, and did we mention he can also shoot gun and can be assisted by a posse of Buzz Lightyears? Yea – that, too. (more…)

Rockstar apologizes for GTA: Vice City Android hiccup, hopes to get it out by the end of next week

We’re sure that many Android gamers were looking forward to downloading Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City onto their devices, and while iOS users are probably having a blast with the game, it looks like Android users might have to wait until the next weekend. The game was originally scheduled for a release on the 6th of December for both iOS and Android, but it seems that due to validating errors with the APK, the game was removed from the Google Play store after having been downloaded by a few hundred users. The Google Play page for Vice City now leads to a “Not found” page. Rockstar has since issued an apology, “Hey guys, due to unforeseen technical issues, the Android release of Vice City will be slightly delayed. Our goal is to get this out for Android by the end of next week. Our apologies for the delay to all our fans on Android devices and please stay tuned for updates.”

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for iOS and Android trailer debuts

Come 6th of December, gamers who have enjoyed Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be pleased to know that the game will be debuting on both iOS and Android, but until then the folks at Rockstar have released a new trailer video of the upcoming game that will give players some clues as to what they might be able to expect. With the game having been released a good decade ago, there will be some improvements to the graphics, along with some slight changes to the gameplay to make up for the fact that the controls will be touchscreen based. It’s probably not the best looking game we’ve seen on mobile so far, but GTA has mostly been about the gameplay and we guess with Vice City sitting at 10 years old, its graphics can certainly be forgiven (might even be nostalgic for some gamers). In case you missed our previous report, the game will be priced at $4.99 for both iOS and Android.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City hijacking Android and iOS on December 6th for $5

DNP Grand Theft Auto Vice City hijacking Android and iOS on December 6th for $5

Following the footsteps of its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is making its way to Android and iOS. Rockstar announced today that a special 10th Anniversary Edition of the open world Scarface / Miami Vice inspired sim will be hitting the two popular mobile platforms on December 6th for $5. This spiffed-up mobile port includes updated character models, enhanced lighting effects, improved targeting and fully customizable control options. Technical upgrades aside, we caution not to drive directly against the sun while riding a motorcycle within the game; it nearly blinded us in the original console version, so we can only imagine how harsh it will be on your fancy high-res display. Don’t say that we didn’t warn you. Move past the break for a complete list of supported devices.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition coming to iOS and Android December 6

For gamers who have enjoyed the mobile Grand Theft Auto (GTA) experience on their mobile devices with GTA 3, Rockstar has announced that GTA: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition will be launching on both iOS and Android devices come 6th of December and it will be priced at a modest $4.99 for either platform. The 10th Anniversary Edition of Vice City will introduce native high-resolution graphics with several enhancements designed for iOS and Android in mind. This includes updated character models and lighting effects and given that this is a ten year old game after all, we guess these enhancements would be something to look forward to. Grand Theft Auto 3 makes its way onto the PlayStation Store

If you have been following the Grand Theft Auto franchise, then you probably know that that Grand Theft Auto 3 was the first GTA game that allowed players to play from a 3D third person perspective, compared to GTA 1 and 2 which offered a top down perspective in 2D, both of which were and are still extremely fun. In any case if you haven’t played GTA before and are clueless as to all these GTA references made in pop culture, Rockstar has announced that GTA 3 is now available for purchase from the PlayStation Store for $9.99/£7.99/€9.99. This is most certainly not a new game, especially with GTA 5 pegged for a possible 2012/2013 release (depending on which rumor you want to buy), but for those who are looking to relive a classic, or perhaps looking to try it for the first time, just head on over to the PlayStation Store to get your copy!

GTA IV Mod Lets You Play as a Giraffe

The best part of the GTA games is the mayhem that you can cause as you drive and run and gun throughout the city. Some of the mods for the game are pretty cool too. You know what’s really awesome? A mod that lets you wreck havoc across the city as a giraffe.
gta giraffe mod
There is nothing better than seeing a giraffe riding a motorbike, firing an RPG and pushing cars so they go flying like Superman sneezed. This Grand Theft Auto IV giraffe mod by indirivacua is some hardcore giraffe action for zoo fans everywhere.

Just make sure that you watch the video all the way through to the end, you’ll be happy you did. It is some funny stuff. To me at least. Who doesn’t love a giraffe on a rampage? But how about elephant?

Grand Theft Auto 4 mod ushers San Andreas into the world of HD

It seems that the third beta version of Grand Theft Auto IV San Andreas, which in reality is a mod for Grand Theft Auto 4, was introduced sometime this week. Apparently, “Grand Theft Auto IV San Andreas” is a special kind of project that gamers as well as fans of the franchise hope will be successful – after all, it intends to port Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to RAGE, whereby RAGE is noted for being the current-generation engine which ensured Grand Theft Auto 4 is all that the game promised to be. This particular project began development last year, where the first beta version was released in August 2011, while the second beta version made its way to the masses in December last year.

As for the most recent beta version, expect a bunch of notable improvements as well as additions to the mod, ranging from a multiplayer mode to gang wars, races, and of course, new weapons as well as cars. The entire project will see the San Andreas world recreated in HD quality on the GTA IV engine, delivering new life to a game that was released during the peak of the PS2/Xbox era. Well, at least there is also Grand Theft Auto V to look forward to…
