Guild Wars 2 player manages to hit level 80 in a couple of days

There are all sorts of gamers out there, some who play for social reasons, while others who play more competitively, and there are those who play and blaze through the game as fast as they can just to set a record. It was only a few days ago that Guild Wars 2 opened its servers to those who pre-purchased the game and it looks like one particular player has already made it to level 80. Going by the name Surfeuze, the French gamer has officially maxed out a character in the game even before the game has been officially released, and by that we mean officially released to the public and to the gamers who did not pre-purchase or pre-order it. He managed to hit the level cap so fast thanks to the help of his guild mates who provided materials for him to craft with, which granted him experience points necessary to gain those levels. Personally I’m all about exploring the game, rather than trying to hit the cap as fast as I can, but what do you guys have to say about this?

Well if Guild Wars 2 is a game you’re very much looking forward to, the folks at PC Gamer have obtained an exclusive look at the level 50 Twilight Arbor dungeon that was being played through by some ArenaNet QA testers, and gives gamers a glimpse at the dungeon’s first boss which is a spider queen. We have to admit that we like what we see so far and you can check it out in the video above. However if you’d rather not spoil the game for yourself and would rather play it through, then perhaps you’ll want to give the video a pass. For those who watched the video, are you guys excited?!

Guild Wars 2 gears up for another stress test today

Good news Guild Wars 2 players, we know that the launch of the game is close at hand, but what if you can’t wait until this weekend (for pre-purchasers)? Well it seems that ArenaNet has decided to host another stress test for the game which will be taking place on Tuesday, August 21st and is expected to run from 3PM EDT to 7PM EDT, giving Guild Wars fans a good four hours of gaming before the official launch. However it should be noted that because this is a stress test meant to, well, stress the servers and find any issues that might hamper the launch of the game, do not expect the experience to be a very smooth one. However we guess that there are players out there who simply want to enjoy the world that ArenaNet has created and don’t really care about any lag or problems that might occur during the process. The developer has also stated that they will be actively working on the game during the event, so there might be some connection issues and some features which might seem a little off. So, who has pre-purchased or pre-ordered Guild Wars 2?

ArenaNet to hold Guild Wars 2 stress test today

Heads up gamers, ArenaNet has announced that later today at 12PM Noon Pacific Time to 4PM Pacific Time, they will be holding a stress test for Guild Wars 2. Instead of merely monitoring how their servers would handle the playerbase, this stress test will see the developers of the game actively working on the servers which means that players who plan to participate in this stress test will encounter issues such as lag, incomplete features and the like. Given that it is pretty obvious that a stress test will by no means be an indication of what the game will be like at its launch, ArenaNet has decided to release a disclaimer anyway, stating that “no way representative of the state of the game at launch”. So if you think you’re not the type that gets frustrated easily and you wouldn’t mind giving the stress test a go, you know what time it will begin!

Guild Wars 2 dev diary shows off gameplay footage

Gamers, if you were not fortunate enough to be selected for the Guild Wars 2 beta, you’re in luck as ArenaNet has released a developer diary of the game, giving players insight to the game with some artwork, gameplay footage and thoughts from the game’s art directors and designers themselves. We have to admit that as far as a free-to-play MMO is concerned, Guild Wars 2 looks great. In fact based on what some of the devs have described, it certainly looks extremely interactive and could prove to be an even huger success than its predecessor. That being said, we guess the dev diary should speak for itself, so if you were thinking of getting Guild Wars 2 and you’re wondering what will be in store for you, be sure to check out the video above!
