Trekkie and former city councilman David Waddell did exactly that, telling his mayor "chaq DaHjaj QaQ jaj paj", which apparently means ‘perhaps today is a good day to resign.’

If you think the funniest person in the world in 2013 was Louis C.K. or Aziz Ansari or some other genius laugh out loud comedian, you’re probably right. But eventually their shtick will get tiring. Visions of the future from the past always serve as an endless source of comedy. Look how dumb we were! Look how silly those people look! Look! Look! It’s completely true. Our imaginations of the future are rooted in the limits of today which typically makes it an awful thought exercise. So in a few years, we’ll look back at 2013 and poke fun of ourselves. But in the mean time, let’s laugh at the 1930’s and 1940’s for these ridiculous inventions.

You might not want to admit it but your favorite action movie is pretty corny. But it’s okay! Because they’re fun and they’re ridiculous and there are explosions and they’re quite wonderful at wasting two hours. But when you only see little bits of the movie? Especially just the punchline? It gets quite embarrassing. Just watch this supercut of the punchline of 100 action movies. It’s great.

This is so hilariously on point. It’s basically every silly Internet slap fight made infinitely fancier and thus even sillier. Seriously, watch these two old men perform a dramatic re-enactment of a YouTube comment fight over Harry Styles of One Direction between YouTubers Sophie Danze and JilianLovesTheBiebs and just enjoy the hell out of its genius. Their tone, their beats, their pronunciation of Bieber and One Direction and Harry are all just fantastic. I can watch these two guys talk about anything.

This is hilarious. Imagine shopping inside IKEA and hopping inside one of those strategically decorated rooms where every single thing has a price tag and playing with the faucet and looking at all the weird Swedish names and then… realizing you have no idea how to get out. That’s because you’ve just been pranked. There’s no way out anymore. The original entrance has been replaced with a room that just boxes you in. Genius.

Space is beautiful. Space is terrifying. IKEA is mostly just terrifying, especially when you get lost. Director Daniel Hubbard hilariously spoofed Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity by setting it inside the expansive world of IKEA. At over 346,000 square feet and absolutely no sense of direction, it sure feels endless. The parody trailer nails the IKEA shopping experience, the frantic cries of Sandra Bullock, and the overall tension of Gravity. IKEA is Earth’s equivalent of getting lost in space.

Forgive yourself for thinking that Blockbuster went out of business years ago but, in reality, Blockbuster officially shut down its remaining 300 video rental stores this past weekend, on Saturday, November 9th. The last movie ever rented at everyone’s favorite video store? Hilarious stoner comedy with the most poetic-est on-the-nose title ever for this type of end-of-the-road moment: This Is The End. It really doesn’t get more perfect than that.

It’s true. Even if you’re dealing with the brilliant Dark Knight or fantastic Iron Man or the good times of Thor, all superhero movies pretty much boil down to the same thing: an established hero fighting a lunatic bad guy to prevent the destruction of some version of New York City with epic fight scenes and long death scenes galore.
