Male or female, most of us have body hair—some far, far more than others. This video explains how testosterone fuels the growth of hair all over your body.
Removing unwanted body hair has been a part of human hygiene since the dawn of history. Over the centuries, this practice has served to denote everything from high-ranking social status to acts of contrition. And as the tradition of shaving has evolved in step with global culture, so too have the tools of the trade.
So her hair makes it look like she’s turned away from the camera but her clothes are set up to make it look like she’s facing the camera. What way is she really facing? Honestly, I can’t tell. Malin Bergman loves to play little games with her Instagram pictures to make you question and wonder what’s really happening in the photo.
Whether you think shaving is relaxing, an art form for you to master, or a miserable time sink, you probably still have to do it, and anything worth doing is worth doing well. Hopefully some of our favorite products get put to good use making your face a bit smoother, and we can’t wait to hear your recommendations in the comments.
Hairy legs are a huge turnoff. It might be annoying, since you feel compelled to shave or wax every so often, but you could also use that fact to your advantage.
For instance, if you’re headed to a place where you know a lot of dudes (or dudettes, even) might possibly hit on you, then all you have to do is pull on a pair of these hairy leg stockings.
They’re covered in thick, bushy hair that looks like they haven’t been waxed off (or even washed!) for decades. They look pretty gross, but that’s the point, isn’t it?
Unfortunately, while this image has been making the rounds on the interwebs, there’s little information about the actual product or its availability. Here’s an idea though: you can make some yourself, if you really want to. Just use your imagination. I think you can think of something fairly easily.

For the first time in my many years, I’ve started to grow a little bit of a beard. But it’s more of a Miami Vice, Don Johnson five-o-clock shadow thing than a real, manly beard. On the other hand, this guy has this facial hair thing nailed…
Chad Roberts took home both the Best-in-Show and Freaky Funky Free Style award at the 2nd Annual Garden State Beard & ‘Stache Competition (yes, there is such a thing) vanquishing his many hairy foes with the ultimate Spider-Man beard.
I wonder if he had to spin some webs of various sizes to hold that thing in place like that.

There’s an old adage that says if your mom’s father has lost all of his hair, then you’re probably staring down a future of hats and shaved heads too. And as ASAP Science explains: thanks to genetics that’s technically true for males, but there’s more to the story. More »
The geniuses behind Vsauce scientifically answered a few questions, as only they can, about whether it makes sense to eat yourself if you’re ever suffering from starvation, how does hair know when to stop growing, what eye floaters are, how much would Wikipedia weigh and more. More »
Blocky, pixelated locks can really ruin a day of tomb-robbing, right? To put the feather back in those bangs, AMD’s just announced TressFX, software that’ll be seen in the 2013 release of Tomb Raider due on March 5th. The rendering tech offloads computation-heavy hair simulation to the graphics processor using Microsoft’s DirectCompute language, and was developed by AMD in partnership with Raider developer Crystal Dynamics — though it’ll work with any graphics card that supports DirectX 11, including those from arch-foe NVIDIA. The result is a coiffure that can move realistically in response to motion and external forces, detect collisions between strands, accurately reflect light and even allow for matting from moisture or rain. Lara may have preferred that AMD omit the latter, but anything’s better than the helmet-head look, no?

This, over course, goes hand in hand with the related question “Would you/Do you trim your eyebrows?” This stencil, apparently getting popular in Japan, is aimed squarely at men. Worth the weirdness? [Japan Trend Shop via Technabob] More »
