Forget about reducing our demand for lumber, there’s no better reason to recycle than this remarkably detailed and accurate Robocop costume made entirely from cardboard, glue, and about twice as much dedication.
Two years ago a NASA engineer named Mark Rober emailed us a halloween costume that used two iPads to make it look like you had a gaping hole in your stomach
Do you believe in ghosts? If you do, then you might think Ghost Singles is a welcome addition to the growing list of dating sites on the Internet. As its name implies, the site aims to help single ghosts find their ghostly match.
The process to find an undead match is simple enough. In fact, it’s just like most dating sites for live people. You can sign up to create a free profile (after accepting their Terms of Use which include “being taken less seriously by the living because your photo was seen online” and “being accosted and/or captured by Ghostbusters”) before browsing the profiles of others who have already signed up.
You can also opt to go online to chat with other people–er, ghosts who happen to be online. In fact, I think the highlight of the entire ghostly dating experience is the chatroom, which you should definitely check out if you plan to visit the site.
Oh, and make sure you turn your speakers up. Waaaay up, because ghosts can be a little timid. If you know what I mean.

With October here, Halloween is nearly upon us and it’s high time that you get to carving your geeky jack-o’-lantern. This year we ran across some really cool zombie-themed pumpkins and some of them are downright creepy.
One of the things I like about these carvings is that they all appear to be made exclusively from pumpkins. I can only imagine how long it took to carve some of these, particularly the heavily detailed faces of some in the pictures in the gallery.
I think the creepiest is the pumpkin that is turned on its side. It looks like some sort of demented zombie piranha. I also particularly like the one that’s carved to look like a zombie hanging from the end of a noose. The detail work on that carving is incredible. Which one is your favorite?

Earlier this summer, we highlighted Otto Dieffenbach and Ed Hanley’s RC Superman and Iron Man, which showed both iconic superheroes taking to the skies with ease. With Halloween right around the corner, both Dieffenbach and Hanley decided now would be the best time to reveal their RC witch and wizard planes. (more…)

I’ve never been a fan of garden gnomes, honestly they are little disconcerting. I always had the sense that they’re watching me and is waiting for nightfall when they’ll creep into the house and stuff Tic-Tacs up my nose until I suffocate. For some reason I don’t find these zombie garden gnomes nearly as creepy as the regular ones – go figure.
These would be perfect decorating your garden for Halloween. ThinkGeek has four different zombie garden gnome styles including the survivor, zombie, rising, and evil versions. Each individual zombie garden gnome is between nine and 11.4-inches tall and made from resin.
The only exception is the zombie version (the one with the blue outfit), which is actually made from terracotta.
I particularly like the survivor gnome because he has a machine gun and it says “Say hello to my little friend” underneath. The gnomes sell for $19.99(USD) each, or you can get the survivor and zombie version in a bundle for $29.99. We’ve seen some other zombie gnomes in the past, but ThinkGeek has machine guns (plus they’re cheaper.)
10 Best Halloween Pet Costume Winners 2013: Most Valiant, Patriotic, Suggestive… And More
Posted in: Today's ChiliEvery year I try to find a variety of pet costumes for Halloween that
show off different aspects of a pet’s personality. I have to admit that
this year’s pickings are not as rich as they were in the past; maybe
it’s the economy, but most of the costumes out in 2013 are holdovers
from past years. Though darling, they didn’t qualify for the 2013
competition. Nevertheless, we do have some great category winners, such
as Most Embarrassing, Most Suggestive, Best Little Devil, and Most
Valiant pet costumes. Seek and maybe you shall find something for your
sweet pet!
