It used to be that fishnet stockings were the ultimate thing for long, sexy looking legs. We have finally moved on — just a little bit. We’ve left the net behind and become the fish. With these skinny mermaid leggings your gams will take on all of the allure of the mythical maidens and the depths of the sea itself.
I saw the first couple of Nightmare on Elm Street movies, but never actually made it to Nightmare on Elm Street IV. Apparently, in that movie, Freddy Kreuger makes a serious fashion statement, wearing a sweater filled with the souls of the dead. Now, you can wear the same get-up as Freddy, thanks to the fine folks at Morbid Enterprises.
Forget the sweater. I just love the idea of working for a company called Morbid Enterprises. Though the chest is pretty cool too – it makes horrible noises and the heads move around, moaning “why did he do this to us!?!??” Why, indeed.
The Chest of Souls is slated for release in the 3rd quarter of 2013, so you should be able to get one just in time for Halloween. Though I dare you to wear this to the office on any other day of the year.

For the uninitiated, Bento is a type of lunch-time meal which consists
of rice, meat, and vegetables, the whole array arranged together in a
box. It’s a fairly traditional dish, often prepared for school and work
lunches; it’s also available at most restaurants which serve Japanese
food. Those mass-produced meals rather pale in comparison to the stuff
I’d like to share with you folks today – calling the ordinary stuff
downright inadequate wouldn’t be much of a stretch.
After we covered Hotel 626, an online haunted house full of multimedia-rich material that went viral, we found our readers love to have their socks knocked off in horror. Unfortunately, Hotel 626 is no longer online, so we went to work to see where fans of horror games can go next. Check out these other scary online games that will cause your cursor to shake uncontrollably.
Halloween may have already passed us by, but there’s never a bad good time for a zombie apocalypse. Though if we had to be attacked by the undead, I’d at least like them to be delicious gummy bear zombies.
Ask, and ye shall receive. These creepy gummy zombies were made by photographer Tau Zero for a series of silly, yet haunting photos he put together this past Halloween.
Personally, if I were being attacked by an army of zombie gummies, I’d just start picking them off and popping them in my mouth. Of course, that’s how the infection spreads.
And speaking about gummy bears, be sure to check out the amusing and addictive gummy bear photo group over on Flickr.

What party would be complete this time of the year without the a sound system made from pumpkins? Don’t let its looks deceive you, because these speakers pack a powerful punch.
They’re essentially hollowed-out pumpkins that have been outfitted with a car stereo by Steve Meade. It might look like a simple process, but a lot of work actually went into assembling these things. Aside from hollowing out the pumpkins and carving them with the shapes of the car stereo parts, there’s also the matter of installing the actual parts and wiring everything up.
The result, of course, is nothing short of amazing. Too bad this sound system will rot within a couple of days after it was put together.
Here’s a video of these 500-watt speakers in action:
Have a thumpin’ Halloween!

Gh-gh-ghosts? Sure, we didn’t find any concrete evidence during our trek to central New York earlier this month, but we did have a pretty spooky run-in recently, when the Engadgetmobile broke down outside of a nondescript electronics store. Join Tim, Brian, their robotic dog Gadget and very special guests Free Energy and Jesse Thorn for an animated Halloween adventure after the break.

Here’s something to do if you can’t get enough Halloween: go to Google, search for your favorite scary movie, and watch the bats fly. Not content with an interactive Google Doodle on the front page today, it has also thrown in a fun easter egg: if you search for a term that brings up the Google knowledge graph box, three bats will perch and fly away when your search results come up. It’s not perfect–I searched for Evil Dead 2, one of the finest horror movies of all time, and there wasn’t a knowledge graph box and there weren’t bats. It also didn’t work for any Chucky-related search. However, it worked for I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Shining, and a whole host of other undiscovered search terms. See what the most obscure horror movie you can get it to show up for at Google.
When you do the same thing over at Bing, your screen will start bleeding.
