Han Solo in carbonite makes a great decoration on your wall. Just ask Jabba the Hutt. Jabba loved to turn the lights on and see Han’s frozen body staring back at him. And now you can too with this Star Wars Han Solo in Carbonite light switch.

It was made by Etsy seller wickedstudio, who has worked a UL-approved switch into the crotch of Han Solo. When the lights are of Han is at rest, when they are on, it’s as if he saw the Falcon for the first time.

He hand-sculpted the switch plate to the appropriate scale for the switch. It installs directly to the wall over your existing switch outlet, and sells for $40(USD).

We all know Han Solo shot first, but looking at this awesome LEGO DL-44 blaster, I don’t even care. I just wish I had this sitting on my shelf – or in my waistband. It’s Han’s famous Greedo-killing blaster in LEGO form.

It was made for the 2013 edition of the MocAthalon contest, by LEGO enthusiast Captain Infinity. I wish I had thought to build this blaster myself, but I know mine wouldn’t look nearly as good.

Captain Infinity says that he had meant to build it for a while, and the competition’s “An Elegant MOC for a More Civilized Age” category was the perfect chance to do it. He focused on fitting as many details as he could into this blaster and making the shape as accurate as possible. I think he did an amazing job.

We’ve heard Carrie Fisher is returning to play Princess Leia in Star War: Episode 7 with Harrison Ford possibly coming back as Han Solo as well, but it looks as though the man himself, George Lucas, may have confirmed the big three stars of Star Wars Episode IV – VI in a recent interview.

Lucas spoke to Bloomberg Businessweek and was asked if he informed Ford, Fisher and Mark Hamill of LucasFilm’s upcoming deal with Disney. “We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation,” said Lucas. “So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.’ ” (more…)

I mentioned yesterday that rumors were swirling about what Star Wars character the first of the standalone feature films from Disney would focus on. Early rumors said Yoda would be the subject of one of the films. The characters of the films will cover have now been confirmed, and Yoda isn’t the subject – at least not of the first two films.

The two initial standalone films will reportedly focus on Han Solo and Boba Fett separately. Those are two of my favorite characters from the franchise while Yoda is one of my least favorite so this is very good news for me. A lot of details on the films remain unannounced. The Han Solo film is rumored to take place between two existing movies in the franchise.

The Han Solo film would reportedly take place between the Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope movies. The Boba Fett film is rumored to take place either between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back or between Empire and Return of the Jedi. Either time period would allow for the return of fan favorite characters including Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt.

I wonder how the part of Han Solo will be cast since Harrison Ford is clearly too old to play a young Han. I’m guessing they won’t go with Sean Patrick Flannery again.

Wedded bliss. Is there anything more beautiful? Yes there is. Wedded bliss with an awesomely geeky Star Wars wedding cake like the one shown here.

This delicious-looking Star Wars-themed wedding cake is more diorama than cake and it was made by Lisa Seidling of Cake Works. The starfield, ship, Princess Leia bride and Han Solo Groom were made of gumpaste. The cake itself, including the Death Star ball, was red velvet with white chocolate/raspberry cream filling and white chocolate buttercream covered in silver fondant – which happens to be what the actual Death Star was made of.

I love the extra details like the Star Wars style font and the “just married” ribbon trailing behind the Millenium Falcon. Han and Leia are a bit cartoony, but it works. Great cake. I wish could have eaten a piece.
