200hp Golf Cart Reaches 100mph
Posted in: Today's ChiliEven with their speed limiters disabled, stock golf carts are pretty slow, much like the game of golf itself. How fast can one go? Maybe 25mph if it’s all tricked out. On the other hand, this custom made golf cart powered by a 200hp Hayabusa engine can go as fast as 100mph.
This beast was built by Chris of Spring Hill, Florida. It has a four-cylinder engine from a 1999 Hayabusa motorcycle, and has bee upgraded with a speedometer and other gauges, as well as the fan and ignition switches from the Hayabusa. There’s also a six-speed gearbox and a chain-driven rear axle. Check it out in action below:
While it meets most of the criteria for being street legal in Florida, you’re still not allowed to drive over 25mph. Oh well. Still, Chris plans to custom build more Hayabusa carts for those who like golf carts, but want to enjoy life in the fast lane.

Last week we spotted pictures of Sony’s upcoming LT29i Hayabusa and now we’ve got even more pictures of the phone to show you. The folks over at ePrice managed to get some hands-on time with an engineering prototype of the phone and were kind enough to share the photographs of it online. The device is said to be the international version of the Japanese Xperia GX and is expected to be announced at Sony’s IFA event next month.
The phone is rumored to feature a 4.55” HD 720 x 1280 display, 1GB of RAM, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, Adreno 320 GPU, and a 13-megapixel rear camera. Check out more images and videos of the upcoming handset at the source link below, and some samples from the phone’s camera here.

Sony LT29i Hayabusa photos leaked
Posted in: Today's ChiliA few days ago, the Sony Xperia GX was spotted at the FCC, leading us to believe that a US launch of the phone (originally destined for Japan) could be announced in due time. While FCC filings may not necessarily indicate a release in the US, it seems that Xperia GX hopefuls will be pleased to learn that it could be more likely than they think thanks to these leaked photos which shows off an international version of the Xperia GX, also referred to as the LT29i, or codename “Hayabusa”. Compared to the Japan-bound Xperia GX, this particular model closely resembles the build with the exception that it is missing the FeliCa logo under the LED flash and also appears to sport a different chrome rim around the phone.
According to its rumored specs, the Sony LT29i Hayabusa is expected to feature a 4.55” HD 720×1280 display, 1GB of RAM, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor with an Adreno 320 GPU along with a 13MP rear-facing camera. No word on when we will be seeing the Hayabusa launched in the US, but assuming that it does, these leaked photos might be an indication of what we will be able to expect.

FCC Fridays: July 20, 2012
Posted in: Today's Chili We here at Engadget tend to spend a lot of way too much time poring over the latest FCC filings, be it on the net or directly on the ol’ Federal Communications Commission’s site. Since we couldn’t possibly (want to) cover all the stuff that goes down there individually, we’ve gathered up an exhaustive listing of every phone and / or tablet getting the stamp of approval over the last week. Enjoy!

Sony’s forthcoming 4.6-inch Android ICS slab has appeared at the FCC, and has revealed a few more details on what appears to be the company’s next flagship smartphone. The highlight of the federal-sanctioned autopsy of the Xperia GX reveals an interesting point; a pentaband 3G radios capable of HSPA speeds, something that’s still a rarity among global smartphones. The filing otherwise offers up a not-so-thrilling glimpse at the hardware labeling and, well, not much else. See for yourself at the link below.
