Hitman GO Now Available In iTunes App Store

So the other day we reported that Square Enix Montreal was set to release Hitman GO on the 17th of April and sure enough they have. The game has been launched for iOS devices where it is priced at $4.99. An Android version is expected at a later date but for now, iOS users will be able to enjoy it first.

The game is a turn-based game and is very different from the original Hitman franchise. While it does a bit of stealth, the game feels more like a board game than anything. Players are tasked with certain missions in every stage where they have to ensure that they are not seen by security and try to make it to the finish point.

They are able to “take out” security guards as well as their targets by knowing them off the board, as well as hide in plants in order to conceal themselves from security. There are many stages gamers can look forward to, although to unlock new chapters, gamers will have to obtain a certain number of “stars” per chapter.

Each missions has anywhere between 1-3 objectives, so if you were to head directly to the finish point, you’d miss out on two additional stars. The game has a fair amount of replayability, especially if you want to see if there’s a better way to accomplish a mission. The game also offers in-app purchases such as hints as well as walkthroughs, but other than that you don’t really need to make any purchases to enjoy the game fully.

Hitman GO Arriving On iOS 17th April

Hitman GO Arriving On iOS 17th AprilThe Hitman franchise has largely relied on stealth in order for players to complete their missions, although we guess this largely depends on the type of player and whether they’d rather creep their way around, or burst into rooms gun blazing. That being said, Hitman could be getting a less fast-paced version of the game in the Hitman GO title which is scheduled for release on mobile devices.

According to Square Enix Montreal, they have announced that Hitman GO will be seeing a release on the 17th of April where it will launch on iOS devices followed by Android devices at a later date. The game will also be shown off at PAX East this week so there is a good chance we could be hearing about the game in the next few days as well.

The game will be a turn-based version of Hitman and will feature a rather interesting look in the form of a diorama-styled set pieces on a grid. It will sort of play like the Hitman game, except in turn-based style, and will also offer players access to the usual suspects, like disguises, distractions, sniper rifles, and the likes.

The game will also be priced at $4.99 and will offer access to 68 levels, all of which can be unlocked by playing through the entire game. The studio has also announced that there will be additional levels added in the future, so that’s something worth looking forward to. No word on whether the game will have in-app purchases (we’re hoping not) so we guess we’ll just have to wait until the 17th of April to find out. In the meantime who else is looking forward to this new style of Hitman on their phone/tablets?

New Hitman Game Under Development At IO Interactive, Not Cancelled

New Hitman Game Under Development At IO Interactive, Not CancelledThe latest Hitman game, Hitman: Absolution, was released back in 2012 and if you were wondering about the fate of the franchise, you can rest assured it has not been cancelled entirely as Square Enix has confirmed that a new Hitman game, tentatively referred to as Hitman 6, is currently in development at IO Interactive. Earlier it had been reported that the game Square Enix had been working on had been cancelled. This was revealed by a LinkedIn profile of Richard Knight, a senior designer at the company, whose profile showed that the game had been cancelled back in 2013. Thankfully that is not the case as Square Enix has since stepped forward to clear any confusion.

According to a statement released by Square Enix, “IO Interactive is developing a new, AAA Hitman game that will be coming to PC and next-gen consoles and Square Enix Montreal is fully focused on mobile development of games some of which are related to the Hitman franchise. We look forward to sharing more details about these titles later this year.” Knight’s profile did mention something about mobile development but as it turns out, it’s a case of “and” and not “instead of” with regards to new Hitman-related games. Not much is known about the next Hitman game, but we guess fans can now breathe a sign of relief knowing that the game has not been cancelled, although how long we would have to wait for its release is still a mystery.

AMD Never Settle bundle gives Radeon HD 7000 buyers free games they'd actually care to play

Just about anyone who has bought more than one aftermarket graphics card knows that bundled games rarely matter. They’re usually year-old titles or neutered editions built only to showcase the GPU’s performance for a few hours. AMD thinks its Never Settle bundle might finally get us to notice. Buy any modern Radeon HD video card from the 7770 GHz Edition on up and you’ll get a download code for at least one new game you’d genuinely want to try, ranging from Far Cry 3 on basic cards to a full three-game deal that supplies Far Cry 3, Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs to high rollers buying the 7900 series. There’s likewise a discount for Medal of Honor: Warfighter and promises of bundles in 2013 for Bioshock Infinite and the reimagined Tomb Raider. As long as you’re not dead set on springing for a GeForce board in the next few months, one of the qualifying cards might be worth a look to jumpstart your game collection.
