The Clione Mini Speaker USB Lamp would be a bright idea with a little more work

Our music often goes hand-in-hand with our mood. By the same token, it can also help pull us out of a funk. The atmosphere of the place you’re in can also greatly affect your emotions. Being in a dark room with loud music obviously can put you in a very different mood from an open area that is well-lit and has music at just a high enough level to be heard without overpowering your surroundings.
If you want the light and music in your space to be under your control, then the Clione Mini Speaker USB Lamp should do your bidding quite nicely. It looks like a cross between a floating lab flask and an elongated Luxo lamp. It has a 3W speaker, and runs on rechargeable batteries. As it doesn’t plug into the wall, you’ll have to recharge it via USB or replace the 3 AAA batteries it requires every 2 hours if you’re playing music only, or every 4-8 hours if you’re using the light alone. That being said, it doesn’t seem terribly practical.
You can plug in whichever musical device that has a 3.5mm earphone jack. It is touch-sensitive, so you can turn on or off the lamp at a single touch, as well as adjust the brightness. Despite all of its gimmicks, it still doesn’t seem to be worth the $61 you’d have to spend to get one. It’s certainly a neat idea, but needs a little more polish.
