Sony Honami’s Camera Teased In New Photo

Sony Honamis Camera Teased In New PhotoJust last week Sony started teasing customers about its upcoming smartphone, the Sony Honami, or also known as the Xperia Z1 or Xperia i1, depending on which rumor you are buying. In any case a new teaser photo has since been shared on Sony’s Xperia Twitter account, and this time we are looking at the camera lens of the handset. In fact it even shows the initial “G” which many take to mean the G Lens which is one of the rumored features of the upcoming device.

So far Sony has teased photos of the handset with the first being the power button, and the second one showing the phone being dunked underwater, hinting at its water resistance, a feature from the Sony Xperia Z, and now we are looking at the camera. The photo does not explicitly state the camera’s sensor size, but if the rumors are to be believed, a 20MP sensor is in order.

Other rumored features include a 5” Full HD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz. The Sony Honami is rumored to be announced on the 4th of September at Sony’s IFA 2013 press event, so check back with us then for the details.

Sony Xperia Z1 Honami Purported Press Image Leaks

Sony Xperia Z1 Honami Purported Press Image Leaks

Sony is expected to unveil its latest Android flagship device on September 4th. The device is widely known as Honami, though it is believed that it will actually be called Sony Xperia Z1. There have already been a lot of rumors and leaks about this particular device, Sony has teased us about it as well. We’re now treated to the purported press image of Xperia Z1, which shows off the device in three colors. The image also reveals that Xperia Z1 looks a lot similar to Sony Xperia Z, apart from the metal frame that goes around the device.

The Xperia Z1 is shown in purple, white and black in this purported press image. Sony already offers the Xperia Z in these three colors, so this doesn’t really come as a surprise. It is unclear if the metal frame that visibly runs around the device acts as an antenna as well, like on the iPhone, or if its merely the frame for the Xperia Z1. According to rumors, the Z1 Honami touts a 5 inch 1080p full HD display, a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and a 20.7 megapixel rear camera that is supposedly able to shoot video in 4K resolution. New Sony Honami Photo Teased, Hints At Water Resistance

New Sony Honami Photo Teased, Hints At Water ResistanceYesterday we reported that Sony had teased their upcoming Sony Honami handset on their Twitter page, and not too long after Sony posted a new image which you can see in the picture above. This time the tagline reads “About to make a splash”, with what appears to be the phone being dunked underwater. Given that the Sony Xperia Z did come with water resistant capabilities, it looks like that feature could be brought over to the Honami device as well, at least that’s what the photo seems to be telling us.

The Sony Honami, for those unfamiliar, is Sony’s upcoming Android smartphone which could be marketed as the Xperia Z1 or the Xperia i1, with both names being tossed around recently. While its hardware is rumored to be pretty powerful, what with a 5” Full HD display and a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, its main feature would be its 20MP camera which presumably would put it up against Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Nokia Lumia 1020, both devices in which the camera is the main feature. Sony is expected to unveil the device at their IFA 2013 press event on the 4th of September, so check back with us then for the details.

Alleged Sony Honami Press Shots Surface

Alleged Sony Honami Press Shots SurfaceOver the past couple of months we have heard rumors and seen leaks of Sony’s upcoming Honami device, which had also gone by the Xperia i1 moniker, but reports are now suggesting that the final name could be known as the Xperia Z1. In any case the folks at ePrice have reportedly managed to get their hands on what appears to be the press shots of the upcoming handset, along with what appears to be sample images taken by the handset.

Unfortunately the press shots of the device aren’t exactly very clear or big enough to see the details, but they do appear to resemble the leaked images that we have seen in the past. They don’t really tell us anything new, except that the handset could arrive in three different colors – black, purple, and white. As a quick recap for those who might have missed the news, the Honami is rumored to sport a 5” Full HD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset under the hood clocked at 2.2GHz, 16GB of onboard storage, a microSD card, a 3,000mAh battery, and its main feature would be its 20MP camera. There is a good chance that Sony could unveil the device during IFA 2013 on the 4th of September, so be sure to check back with us then for the details!

Alleged Sony Honami Sample Photo Spotted

Alleged Sony Honami Sample Photo SpottedMuch has been said and shared about the Sony Honami, and one of the latest rumors of the upcoming flagship device from Sony Mobile is this – sporting a 20-megapixel camera, it could very well capture 4K video to boot. Well, what you see above is not a rumored 4K video screenshot, but rather, an alleged sample image which was taken with the 20-megapixel camera sensor which is said to accompany the Sony Honami. The image appeared on Picasa, and the details in there pointed out that it was snapped via the Sony C6903, which happens to be the LTE version of the Sony Honami.

The image was not shot at a full 20-megapixel resolution of course, but rather, it does seem to be snapped at a far lower 8-megapixel resolution. Needless to say, the alleged data showed was most probably snapped using with pre-production firmware, so do take that into consideration if you are into assessing its quality and all. All in all, are you ready to pick up the Sony Honami when it finally arrives, or are you more interested in flagship smartphones from other manufacturers? One thing’s for sure, the high end market of Android-powered handsets is certainly a highly competitive and interesting one.

    Sony Honami Mini Specs Rumored

    Sony Honami Mini Specs Rumored

Sony is expected to unveil its upcoming flagship Android smartphone next month. The much rumored i1 Honami smartphone is said to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and possibly a 20 megapixel rear camera. We’ve seen a trend with manufacturers this year of releasing a “mini” version of their flagship devices. Samsung did it with its Galaxy S4, HTC with the One and Motorola is going to do the same with Moto X. Despite the fact that Sony hasn’t officially unveiled the Honami, specs for the Sony Honami Mini are already being circulated by the rumor mill.

It appears that Sony will keep the internal hardware package more or less than same with the mini’s bigger sibling. The Honami Mini is said to have a 4.3 inch Triluminos 720p display, a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. External expansion through microSD will be possible. The device is expected to have a 2,400 mAh battery. What’s interesting to note is that its believed Sony won’t downgrade the camera on Honami Mini. Instead it is rumored to offer the same 20.7 megapixel camera that i1 Honami will tout. So the only differences between the full fledged and mini Honami will be the display, which comes down from the expected 5 inch 1080p to 4.3 inch 720p and the battery that’s scaled down from 3,050 mAh to 2,400 mAh. If you compare other mini smartphones with their bigger siblings, there’s a lot of difference. Since there is no official confirmation from Sony yet even on the existence of a Honami Mini, its best to get your salt shakers out.
