Posted in: Today's ChiliAre you in the market for a spanking new notebook, but do not need to settle for one of those high powered models that cost a couple of thousand dollars? There is always a more cost effective alternative, and that would come in the form of a Chromebook. There has been some Chromebooks released in the past, but this time around, we have the folks over at HP announce their HP Chromebook 11 which was designed and built by the computer manufacturer HP themselves, delivering the kind of speed, simplicity and security benefits that you would normally expect to experience from a Chromebook, in addition to carrying its fair share of unique design elements that will address a fair number of challenges that folks face with computers today.
After all, the whole idea of a laptop is to make sure that it is light as well as mobile, and mobile. This means the HP Chromebook 11 is extremely thin without any kind of extra bits and pieces that will make it thick. Tipping the scales at slightly more than two pounds, it would be one of the lightest laptops of its kind in the market. Apart from that, you will also notice that there are no sharp edges all around, which means your wrists will thank you for such a design in the long run if you spend all day long doing plenty of typing. Of course, even when you travel, there is no need for an additional charger, as the HP Chromebook 11 can be juiced up using a micro-USB charger. This is a similar charger that one can use to power an exhausted Android phone or tablet.
Other hardware specifications to take note of include finely-tuned speakers, plenty of pre-loaded Google apps, 100GB of Google Drive cloud storage that is free for two years, and 60-day free trial of Google Play Music All Access. Expect the new HP Chromebook 11 to retail for a wallet friendly $279.
