HP Announces ProBook 200, 400 Notebooks Focused On Business Users

HP is announcing a new set of laptops which the company is focusing on small to medium business users with its ProBook 200 and ProBook 400 notebook PCs.  Both notebooks will offer various screen sizes and components to choose from and will retail as low as $249.

The ProBook 200 notebooks are HP’s value line with its HP 240 starting the line with its 14-inch display capable of delivering a resolution of 1366 x 768, an Intel Celeron processor all the way up to a second and third-generation Intel Core i3 and i5 processors, up to 6GB of RAM, 320 – 750GB hard drives and will give the consumer an option of including an AMD Radeon HD 7450M GPU, Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro and Ubuntu Linux. The HP 250 features many of the same specifications, except it has a larger 15.6-inch display. The HP 255 also has a 15.6-inch display, but it comes with an AMD A4 and A6 processors.

HP Probook 4545s, powered by AMD

HP has just released this Probook 4545s laptop which is designed for the enterprise market. As such, the computer was envisioned with a few key points: durability, multimedia capability, performance and full array of ports. The durability is quite obvious: people who are on the go often tend to put their laptops through harsh use, transport and possibly environment.

To ensure rigidity of the chassis, HP uses aluminum which has been treated to be smudge and scratch resistant. The keyboard is also spill-resistant, which is apparently a must-have feature for business laptops. And if the laptop is dropped, a sensor will park the HDD heads to avoid a fatal disk crash (err… they still have HDDs?). (more…)

HP refreshes some of its business PCs with AMD Trinity chips

If you’ve been waiting for some spankin’ new designs for HP’s business machines, we hate to disappoint you, but we’ve only got a spec bump to report here. The company just announced that it’s freshening up its ProBook 4445s, 4446s and 4545s with AMD’s newish Trinity-series APUs. While it was at it, the outfit also announced the Compaq Pro 6305 desktop, which is also powered by AMD’s A-Series chips (the A10, A8, A6 and A4, to be exact). The refreshed ProBook 4545s is available now, starting at $499. (The 4445s and 4446s will only be available in Japan and other Asia-Pacific countries.) Meanwhile, the Compaq Pro 6305 desktop lands October 8th, starting at $539 with both Windows 7 and Win 8 configurations available.
