HTC One M8 announced, is new flagship for Taiwanese company

htc-one-m8When it comes to smartphones, every single company would do well to have a flagship that they can call their own. After all, it makes perfect sense, as you would also need to compete on the top end of the market in order to win the perception war among the masses. HTC might have started off with a bang all those years ago, but they have fallen onto difficult times recently, where even the HTC One, despite its strengths, has not managed to alter the perception of the masses to avoid HTC smartphones. Perhaps with the release of the HTC One M8, things might change for the better?

The HTC One M8 is said to come with a high quality metal unibody alongside a Smart Sensor Hub which is capable of anticipating your needs, and it will make use of Motion Launch controls in order to make everyday tasks easier. Apart from that, there is also the brand new Duo Camera technology that delivers creative, professional-looking photos and amazing effects, while HTC BoomSound would yet again set new standards for audio quality on a smartphone.

With its beautiful, durable, high quality metal unibody encasing a 5-inch Full HD (1080p) display, you can be sure that your eyes will be spoilt be what it offers. Underneath the hood, you will find a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.3 GHz quad-core Krait CPU, not to mention fully integrated 4G LTE connectivity and Android 4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice. It will also feature the all-new HTC Sense 6, which is available on the device and as an upgrade from the Google Play store.

The Duo Camera will boast of HTC’s innovative HTC UltraPixel module, in addition to a dual flash and full 1080p HD video recording, allowing it to produce incredible images regardless of most lighting conditions, while there is also a 5-MP wide-angle front facing camera that captures superior selfies without much hassle. Looks like, in HTC’s own words, “the best just got better.” Do you agree with that?

This particular smartphone is all set for a dual announcement at both world cities – London and New York, this coming March 25th, and it has even picked up the nickname of the “All New One”, in addition to an alleged press render surfacing yesterday.. HTC’s Next-Generation Successor To The HTC One Gets Its Debut March 25

    htc-m81

The HTC One was one of the best smartphones of 2013, according to just about anyone you could ask – the flagship Android device from the Taiwanese company bucked the trend of its major competitors using Google’s mobile OS by incorporating a sleek metal case into its device design. On March 25, we’ll see how HTC follows that act with its next flagship handset, according to new invites received by press (via Engadget).

The launch event will happen in New York and London, and it’s very likely that what we’ll see is the device that’s been making the rumor rounds with the codename “M8.” The M8 has enjoyed a large number of leaks so far, including an apparent photo that shows industrial design very much in keeping with the current look of the HTC One. That’s potentially a very good thing: The microperforated speaker grills and flat metal look of the HTC One are iconic, and insiders laud the ergonomics and quality of the device’s construction. However, other attempts to copy but modify that look (i.e. the HTC One Max phablet) have not been nearly as well received.

The M8 is said to stick pretty close to the original, however, and will hopefully avoid any cheapening effects. It’s going to be a little bit bigger with a ‘minimum’ 5-inch display, 1080p output, and a more powerful Snapdragon 800 processor than the one currently used. It’ll supposedly ship with Android KitKat 4.4 on board, and have a twin-sensor camera as its primary differentiating factor: Said camera would allow for refocusing of focal depth after a picture is taken, and improve other editing features including the deletion of certain objects form a photo entirely.

Originally, many thought we’d get a peek at the HTC One successor at MWC this month in Barcelona, but now it seems that won’t be the case. Still, not long to wait before we see what HTC has in store for its big bet for 2014.

HTC M8 Leaked Image Hints At Shiny Metallic Back

HTC M8 Leaked Image Hints At Shiny Metallic Back

There has been no shortage of HTC M8 leaked images, and given at the pace they keep coming in, it is quite possible that there won’t be a shortage until HTC makes the official announcement. The leaked images give us a glimpse of what to expect, and they also hint at a few changes that are expected to be made. HTC M8 is likely to come with dual rear cameras and a dual LED flash housed in an elliptical cutout. This is reiterated by the latest leaked image, which also shows off a very shiny metallic back, something that wasn’t present on its predecessor, the HTC One.

The HTC M8 leaked image comes from a Twitter account going by the @htcfamily_ru handle, this account has been behind several leaked images in the past as well. The smartphone’s edges also appear to be more curved than the HTC One, this should affect how the device feels in the user’s hands, and could compensate for the slightly larger display that might feel a bit foreign at first to existing HTC One owners. As always, it can not be said for sure that what we see here really is the HTC One’s successor, so its best to wait until an official announcement is made. The Taiwanese manufacturer is expected to finally unveil HTC M8 at Mobile World Congress 2014 later this month.
