HTC One V now available at US Cellular for $130 after rebate

Good news for US Cellular customers, the HTC One V is now available for purchase. It will set you back $130 after a $100 mail-in-rebate and assuming that your qualified for a new two year contract. If you do not wist to be committed to a contract, the device can still be yours for $250 on US Cellular’s pre-paid plan. If you aren’t on US Cellular but still like the device, you can get it from Virgin Mobile for $199.99 with a two year contract and the device is heading to Metro PCS as well.

If you are unfamiliar with the HTC One V, it features Android 4.0 ICS with HTC Sense 4.0, a 1GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 3.7-inch display, a 5 megapixel camera in the rear, and Beats Audio built-in. If you are a US Cellular customer, are you planning on getting the HTC One V? If so are you going the contract route or pre-paid? Let us know in the comments section below.

HTC One V hits US Cellular today

Today you’ll be able to head on down to your local US Cellular outlet and pick up no less than the smallest of the three HTC One devices on the market, the HTC One V. This device was announced alongside the HTC One X and One S earlier this year in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress and we’ve had our fair share of a look at each and every one of them. This device works with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, has Beats Audio embedded within, and will be yours for less than $200 this afternoon.

The HTC One V is the most pocket-friendly of the three HTC One devices on the market today, and is also the only one of the three to be released without some sort of 4G connectivity. Instead you’ll be working with the perfectly suitable 3G network of US Cellular, and the whole package will be yours for the lowest price for an HTC One device on the market. You’ll be paying $129.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate, this attached to a two-year contract with the carrier.

Be sure to check out our full review of the HTC One V and get back to us with comments on how you’ll be picking it up or leaving it behind today! Also head to our timeline for the HTC One V below and stick around for more hands-on action soon!

HTC One V quietly pops up at Virgin Mobile USA for $200, iPhone tags along for online orders

HTC had broadcast its intentions to bring the One V to the US this summer, and that’s exactly what it’s doing, even if it’s keeping the formalities to a minimum. Virgin Mobile has started selling the entry Android 4.0 phone without fanfare at a very tempting $200 contract-free — certainly the lowest American price we’ve seen so far for joining the Sense 4.0 party. The hardware still won’t floor anyone, but Virgin Mobile Live is tossed in to perk up the experience. Should Google’s platform just not be your bag, you’ll also be glad to know that Virgin has recently started taking online orders for its prepaid iPhones, which officially hit the shops on Friday. With their $550 and $650 no-contract prices, though, some may question just how Retina their displays really need to be.

[Thanks, Marcus]

HTC Connect certifies AV gear for your One series phone, Pioneer lines up

HTC is going on something of a certification tangent: it’s following its PlayStation Suite approval with its own program, HTC Connect. Home AV equipment with the label promises to lift the standards for streaming media to or from one of HTC’s devices. The rubber stamp will be limited at first to DLNA audio and video, but it should eventually include just about anything that doesn’t involve a wire, such as Bluetooth, in-car media, NFC and wireless speakers. There isn’t an immediate deluge of partners. HTC has scored a rather big ally, however: Pioneer’s DLNA-ready receivers and wireless speakers this year, and beyond, will flaunt the HTC Connect badge. Don’t brag about the media credentials of your One X just yet. Although the Connect seal of approval won’t be needed for media streaming anytime soon, it will only be coming to the One series through an upgrade in the months ahead.
