HTC Rezound Update On Its Way

HTC Rezound Update On Its WayThe HTC Rezound, a smartphone which made its appearance on the market approximately a year and half ago, has pretty much remained a low key device, even more so since the Droid DNA appeared over via Verizon Wireless. Well, just like how you cannot keep a good man down, so too, one is unable to keep a good smartphone down. Sorta, anyways. The HTC Rezound is back under the spotlight courtesy of a recently released update, where the update would bump up the version to 4.05.605.14 710RD, which is not on par with a Jelly Bean upgrade, but still, Verizon has thrown in its fair share of noticeable improvements.

The most impressive of the lot would most probably be the inclusion of global roaming support, which means this would allow the HTC Rezound to be able to access voice and data service in more than 205 countries worldwide. There are also additional goodies for those who are more or less grounded all the time where they live, which would include improved device stability and data connectivity. The entire update weighs a whopping 207.1MB update, so you might want to make sure your HTC Rezound has adequate space left – and juice, too, to get the update installed prim and proper.

iPhone 5 Ranked Fifth In Customer Satisfaction Poll Behind Android Phones

For several years, Apple’s devices have been ranked high in numerous customer satisfaction polls, but it looks as though their customer satisfaction dominance has slipped a bit with the iPhone 5.

According to a study carried out by mobile research firm OnDevice Research, 320,000 mobile and tablet users across six different countries were polled how satisfied they were with their devices. In the U.S., Apple’s iPhone 5 ranked fifth place (8.23) in customer satisfaction behind four Android devices: the Motorola Atrix HD (8.57), Motorola Droid Razr M (8.5), HTC Rezound 4G (8.32) and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (8.26). Android 4.0 ICS OTA update reportedly rolling out to HTC Rezound devices

Just the other day we reported that thanks to a leaked Verizon document, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Rezound seemed imminent. The good news is that after waiting for so long and after alleged leaked builds and whatnot, there have been reports that Android 4.0 ICS has started to roll out to some HTC Rezound owners on Verizon’s network. These reports come from the Android Central forums where users have confirmed that a 299MB OTA update has begun pushing out to devices around the country and will bump the phone’s software version to 3.14.605.12. As with OTA updates, not everyone will be on the receiving end at the same time and if you’re not, you could wait a few days before it begins rolling out to you, or you can try to manually fetch it by checking for software updates on your phone. HTC Rezound owners out there, if you’ve received the Android 4.0 update, let us know in the comments below on how it’s treating you!

HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich update arriving soon?

HTC Rezound ICSFolks who own the HTC Rezound should be pleased to know that the official Ice Cream Sandwich update should be on its way – at least according to a leaked Verizon document. On it, the Rezound is listed as having its Ice Cream Sandwich update approved, and OTA delivery in queue. While we still don’t have a final or official date for its release (it’s still to be determined), it should be some time soon. The update lists the size of the update as 292MB which means it should already be finalized as well.

The Rezound update is said to bring (in addition to Ice Cream Sandwich), V CAST Media Manager updated to Backup Assistant Plus, an updated Caller Name ID app, Time Zone issues fixed, Wireless Alerting System enabled, Cisco AnyConnect support, improved data connectivity, improved device stability, improved Mobile Hotspot connectivity, and improvements to the default mail app. Well keep you posted on when we get an official date but for now, just keep those fingers crossed.
