HTC One caught in the wild ahead of today’s event

HTC One caught in the wild ahead of today's event

No doubt we’ll be hearing more about it in the very near future (oh, in about an hour or so, in fact), but HTC just can’t seem to keep its newest handset under wraps. The HTC One was spotted in the line up to today’s big unveil in New York City. Apologies for the tiny size of the shot — we’ll surely be seeing much sharper pictures of the thing very soon.

Update: We’ve got another, better shot up at top. The original has been banished to the area just after the break.

More HTC One press shots leak showing it does have a back

More HTC One press shots leak showing off the back

We’ve seen many leaks and teasers for HTC’s M7 handset, rumored to arrive as the One, but apart from a grainy TV screenshot, we haven’t seen its palm-friendly side. French site NowhereElse has allegedly come into possession of yet another press shot of the all-but-unannounced handset, with the back of the black model mostly on show. The side-by-side position of the camera and flash matches the mystery white phone Peter Chou was caught with, and apart from that, we can see a couple of shiny bands near the bottom and top, a small Beats Audio brand, the HTC logo and no apparent loudspeaker grille. We’ll inevitably get the full story at the HTC event starting later today, and we’ll be there to liveblog every minute of it.

We're liveblogging HTC's big event tomorrow at 10am ET!

We have some idea what HTC is planning to show us tomorrow, although we’re hoping to get all the juicy details (perhaps even confirm a name) at the company’s big reveal. So far, we’re expecting to see the very latest iteration of Sense, a Butterfly-mimicking 1080p display and probably some more imaging innovations, if HTC’s Twitter-based teasers are anything to go by. There are New York and London event planned and we’ve got teams attending both. It’s set to kick off at 10am ET and you should be able to see the appropriate geo-adjusted time in our magic bubble below. Bookmark our liveblog page and we hope to see you then.

HTC One leaks in press shot (again), this time in black

HTC One leaks in press shot again, this time in black

When HTC CEO Peter Chou showed off his company’s next flagship phone, the M7 / HTC One a few weeks ago, he had both black and silver versions in hand. Shortly after, known press pic source evleaks snagged a promo image in silver and now has posted another to Unwired View, this time of the black one. Still sporting a unique two button design seen previously and what we assume is a Sense 5.0 homescreen widget, this pic also flashes New York localized info, as compared to the earlier leak’s London home. For now, we’re left counting down until its expected unveiling on the 19th in… New York and London — see you there.

HTC teases off-focus glimpses of its new smartphone, goes heavy on the lens flare (video)

HTC teases offfocus glimpses at its new smartphone, goes heavy on the lens flare

In case you hadn’t heard, HTC’s warming up for another phone launch, readying events in both New York and London. The UK arm has now offered up a countdown clock (six days to go!), but with an extra soupçon of tease — some ever-so brief glimpses of its M7 device, rumored to land as the HTC One. Fortunately, someone’s managed to track down all the teaser clips and stitch them together — we’ve added it after the break. Alongside plenty of blinding light, we get a better peek at what seems to be a machined metallic edge around the device, as well as a single shot of the camera lens — HTC does love its imaging tech. You can also glean that the device will arrive dressed white, just like its predecessor, the One X.

HTC One, formerly known as M7, allegedly leaks in press shot

Is this the HTC One

Well, we’re only a few days away from finding out what HTC has in store for us at their pre-MWC event, but expectations are it’s the M7. Or, as the rumor mill is now calling it, the HTC One. While Peter Chou has already flashed the device at an event, evleaks claims to have the first clear press shot of the device. As you can see we’re looking at a strange capacitive button layout that puts home on the right and a big logo smack in the center. Though it’s hard to be certain, it also looks as if the edges of the device are metallic or chrome. The icons tally with some Sense 5 screenshots that leaked recently, while a separate User Agent Profile leak suggests we’re looking at a Butterfly-style 1080p display (see More Coverage). Of course, we can’t confirm that the handset will bear the One branding or that it is indeed legit, but considering evleaks‘ track record we’re willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

HTC’s One X+ and One VX set to arrive on AT&T November 16th

HTC One X+ for AT&T

AT&T offered a one-two punch of HTC pricing and availability info today. November 16th was tipped off as the release date for the handset maker’s One X+ and One VX. The higher-end One X comes with a $200 price tag, when you go in for a two-year contract. The more budget-minded among us will want to take a look at the One VX, which’ll cost you $50 with the aforementioned two-year legal obligation. The higher end handset, meanwhile will be up for pre-order tomorrow. More info on both phones can be found in the source link below.

HTC One S ‘special edition’ comes draped in white, boasts 64GB of storage

HTC One S 'special edition' comes draped in white, boasts 64GB of storage

HTC previously showed off a special edition One X geared toward fashionistas in New York City, and now it’s time for a slightly lesser-specced member of the numero uno family to get a somewhat similar treatment — we’re talking about the One S. And while the most noticeable characteristic of this “special edition” slab is obviously its new white livery, HTC has also made internal improvements by loading the 4.3-inch device with 64GB of internal storage — which should pair nicely alongside that 1.5GHz, dual-core S4 CPU and 1GB RAM. The only bad news is this unicorn type is expected to only be available in Taiwan, and mum’s the word on when, or if, it’ll ever make a trip outside the company’s home turf.

Sony Playstation Mobile store now live, offers cross-platform games and apps from $0.80

Sony Playstation Mobile store now live, offers crossplatform games and apps from $080

After what feels like a mighty long time since it was first announced, Sony’s cross-platform PlayStation Mobile store is now up and running with an initial line-up of games (plus one lonely-looking app) for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Certified Android devices. That hardware category currently includes Sony’s latest tablets and Xperias, plus HTC One-branded handsets — check the source link for a full list and installation instructions. So far, we can access PSM on the Vita via a new tab on the PlayStation Store, and we know that readers are having luck on devices in the US — including the Xperia Play — but the One X (both global and AT&T) has only given us error messages. If you succeed or fail, please post your results below and we’ll update accordingly.

Update: Okay, there are definitely teething problems on HTC devices and we’re reaching out for an explanation. Meanwhile, owners of the Nexus 7 and the Xperia Ion on AT&T bring happier tidings.
