Imgur, everyone’s favorite super simple image hosting site, has had an Android app out for about a month now. As of today, though, the app is also available for iOS users, and now nearly everyone can be just a little bit less productive, together.

Imgur is one of the most widely used photo sharing sites on the internet. It is essentially the go to destination if one wants to keep with the latest viral photos. There is a very strong community that keeps submitting interesting content to Imgur. They’ll be pleased to know that the official Imgur for iOS app has now finally been released. The app comes quite a while after the official Imgur app for Android was released.
The app will allow users to browse images that have been uploaded on Imgur, whether you’re in to memes or rage comics, Imgur for iOS is bound to keep you hooked for house. Users will also be able to comment and vote on images as well as submit images directly to the Imgur gallery. Moreover, the app allows photo uploads straight from the mobile device. Last but not the least, users can manage their account and albums through the app. Imgur CEO had said a few weeks ago that they would soon be releasing their official app for iOS. He also revealed that the app was initially rejected by Apple due to copyright issues. That has now been taken care of, so head on down to the iTunes App Store and download the official Imgur app for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Slackers unite! Imgur for iOS is now here, giving you one more reason to shirk your responsibilities rather than tackle your to-do list. The release looks an awful lot like the Android version, but don’t let that stand as a deterrent, because there’s plenty of functionality to enjoy. This includes the ability to upload, submit and vote on images, and even manage your albums and account. You can also browse images by ranking or what’s gone viral, and then share them via email, SMS and Twitter. If anyone (such as your boss) gives you guff for spending too much time on Imgur, just remind ’em that happiness is good for productivity. Couldn’t hurt, anyway.

The internet’s (aka Reddit’s) favorite online image hosting service now has a built-in meme generator. This is the greatest thing to ever happen to Imgur or the worst. Either way, the workflow is fairly straightforward and even the dopiest of luddites can make their own memes now. Great. Grand. Wonderful!

Imgur, a reservoir of viral photos, adorable kittens and vapid memes, is going mobile: it’s releasing an official Android app today. Technically, the app has been floating around Google Play since April, albeit in beta form. The final build allows users to view and comment on photos, as well as to upload their own — basically everything the service’s full website offers. Imgur is perhaps the most used image hosting website on the internet. It is home to all kinds of images, be it memes, cats or random photography. The official Imgur Android app is now available for download from Google Play Store. The app is currently in beta mode, so it is not exactly available for all regions. Imgur has georestricted its Android app to Australia during the beta period.
The Imgur Android app allows users to browse the most viral images on the internet that the service plays host to. Users have the ability to comment and vote on images straight from the app as well as manage their accounts. There’s also the ability to upload images to Imgur straight from your Android powered phone and to submit images directly to Imgur’s gallery. The app will work on any Android device running firmware 2.1 or higher. Available as a free download, it’ll take some time before the app becomes available for everyone. Right now, only the Australians can go download this app from the Google Play Store and laugh at some kittens.
