Infinity Blade 3 Honors Thanksgiving With Special Turkey Helm

Here in the U.S., we’re a day away from Thanksgiving, which is a day spent on feasting with our family and friends and looking back at our year and counting all of our blessings. It’s also the perfect time for a gamer to catch up with the latest releases as well as their backlog, with some games even holding special events for the holiday. Infinity Blade 3 is one such game, and their Thanksgiving-themed gear is pretty strange. (more…)

Infinity Blade 3: Soul Hunter Update Scheduled For 31st October

Chair Entertainment’s Infinity Blade 3 was released back in September, meaning that the game has been around for a little over a month now. While the game’s graphics might not be a huge leap over its predecessor, it does come with a few improvements that feels more like a polish rather than a dramatic upgrade. In any case if you are done with the game or have gotten a bit bored of the grind, Chair has revealed that an update will be headed your way come 31st of October which will introduce a new campaign. The update has been dubbed the Soul Hunter and will introduce a new end boss dubbed Oslim, a Level 100 Deathless Bloodmage who wields dual Infinity Blades and has been sent by the Worker of Secrets to put a cramp in Siris and Isa’s plans.

Apart from the introduction of a new campaign, the update will also introduce new armor sets to the game for both Siris and Isa, additional exploratory quests, holiday helmets starting with the Pumpkin helmet given that its release is on Halloween, along with a bunch of other fixes, balances, and various improvements that will hopefully help enhance the game’s experience. Infinity Blade 3 is expected to be last installment in the Infinity Blade trilogy but hopefully the updates with additional content will keep coming at a steady pace. In the meantime you can check out the video above for a preview of the upcoming update.

Infinity Blade III Has Finally Been Released

Infinity Blade III Has Finally Been Released

It was back in August when we first heard that Infinity Blade III, the third title in this popular series, was already under development. At Apple’s iPhone launch event on September 10th, the game was unveiled for the first time. Infinity Blade III was shown off during Apple’s keynote by ChAIR Entertainment’s creative director and founder Donald Mustard, who said that the game takes full advantage of the new 64-bit processor in the iPhone 5s. Even though it is compatible older iOS devices as well, Infinity Blade III has been specifically optimized for iPhone 5s.

Infinity Blade III includes two playable characters, the usual hero called Siris and a new female warrior called Isa. Players will also be able to unlock new heroes to aid the primary hero. The stunning graphics were detailed during the unveiling last week, Mustard revealed that the game has depth of field, blur and full-screen vignettes, and lens flares “that would make JJ Abrams proud.” It was announced at the event that the game will be released on September 18th, the same day Apple releases iOS 7. Available now from the iTunes App Store, Infinity Blade III costs $6.99. Its a 1.4 GB download, so make sure you have ample space on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch before purchasing the game.

Chair Entertainment Pleasantly Shocked By iPhone 5s’ Power

Chair Entertainment Pleasantly Shocked By iPhone 5s PowerWhen Apple unveiled their new iPhones, they also had some developers take the stage to show off some new apps that would take advantage of the phones’ new hardware, and unsurprisingly Chair Entertainment made an appearance again, this time with their new Infinity Blade 3 title that is expected to debut on the 18th of September alongside iOS 7. So far from what we’ve heard during Apple’s presentation and based on some initial tests, Apple’s iPhone 5S is no slouch and is actually turning out to be quite a big upgrade over the iPhone 5, at least in terms of processing and graphics power.

To that extent Chair Entertainment’s Donald Mustard revealed his amazement at the power behind the iPhone 5S. Speaking to the folks at Polygon, Mustard was quoted as saying, “I’m not going to mince words here. It was very shocking to me […] I really do think this is a sea change. It’s a sea change from how much of a supercomputer this thing is that we’re holding in our pockets.” The visuals on Infinity Blade 3 have definitely been upgraded and it will be interesting to see how the iPhone 5S handles it, and more importantly how older iPhones, like the iPhone 5, will be able to cope with the newer graphics as well.

Infinity Blade III Launching On iOS September 18 For $6.99

There were a number of news pieces that slipped through the cracks during Apple’s iPhone event, such as Apple updating its iPod line to include the iPhone 5S’ space grey color option. One bit of news that slipped through the cracks even though it took center stage during Apple’s presentation was the next chapter in ChAIR Entertainment’s popular iOS franchise, Infinity Blade.  (more…)

Infinity Blade 3 Reportedly Under Development Already

Infinity Blade 3 Reportedly Under Development Already

The Infinity Blade franchise is certainly popular with iOS users. It was back in 2010 when the first ever Infinity Blade title was released, both the first and the second Infinity Blade 2 title have reportedly netted Chair, the developer, around $30 million. Just last month Chair had announced that development of Infinity Blade Dungeons had been shut down, but apparently they’re already working on the third installment of the Infinity Blade franchise.

The folks at Kotaku discovered the LinkedIn profile for a senior entertainment QA tester at Chair who lists “Infinity Blade 3 for the iPhone” under recent work experience. It was widely believed that the third installment of this franchise would definitely be released right up till the moment when cancellation of Infinity Blade Dungeons was announced. That made quite a few people double minded over the future of this extremely popular franchise. There’s no word as yet from the developer itself that it has indeed started working on Infinity Blade 3. So right now it would be an exercise in futility to try and speculate exactly when Chair will release the latest addition to this franchise.
