iOS 7 Concept Shows Expose-Like Multitasking

We’ve seen a couple of iOS 7 concepts in the past, and for the most part most of the concepts surround the different ways the lock screen could be improved upon, notifications, and multitasking. Now we’ve also heard that with iOS 7 and with Jony Ive at the helm, the software could see not just UI changes, but how the operating system is used too, an example would be the expose-like multitasking feature found on OS X. Now thanks to a concept video by Ran Avni, we get to see what Jony Ive could have in store for us with the announcement of iOS 7 which will most likely take place during WWDC next month.

Based on the video, it certainly looks pretty good and impressive and could very well be the multitasking that iOS users have been begging for the past couple of iOS iterations. Will this be what Jony Ive has planned for us, or did you have something in mind? In any case if this isn’t what Jony Ive had planned, we guess the jailbreak community will probably implement this into a jailbreak tweak of its own, assuming there isn’t something similar like this already available in Cydia.

iOS 7 Might Meet Its Deadline After All [Rumor]

iOS 7 Might Meet Its Deadline After All [Rumor]You might recall a couple of days ago, alleged details of Apple’s upcoming iOS 7 were revealed, and amongst the rumors, it was also suggested that due to the extensive overhaul brought to the operating system that it could potentially see a delay in launch. For those who might be a bit worried over this potential delay, you might want to rest easy because according to anonymous informants who tipped off the folks at AllThingsD, it seems that the latest update to the OS will be on time and that there will be no delay.

The report has suggested that team members from the other software divisions at Apple have been gathered to help speed up the process of getting iOS 7 ready on time, similar to what they did back in 2007 when members from OS X 10.5 Leopard were tasked to help the iPhone team get the device and operating system ready for its launch. As expected iOS 7 is set to make its debut at WWDC which will be taking place next month. A release for the operating system remains unknown, although if Apple were to keep to their tradition, the update would be released around the same time as the next-gen iPhone.

iOS 7 Could See Major Changes Made To Mail And Calendar Apps [Rumor]

iOS 7 Could See Major Changes Made To Mail And Calendar Apps [Rumor]

Longer screen, better contrast, but the color hue is yellow-ish on my unit.

We’ve been hearing a fair bit about iOS 7 these days, with the rumors suggesting an overhaul of the operating system, at least as far as its user interface is concerned. Previously the reports have come from 9to5 Mac, but now it looks like they are being backed up by the folks at Bloomberg who are suggesting that iOS 7 will be getting an overhaul, although they also claim that the release of the operating system could be delayed due to the significant changes that are being made. iOS 7 Could Feature Deeper Integration In Vehicles With Apple Maps [Rumor]

iOS 7 Could Feature Deeper Integration In Vehicles With Apple Maps [Rumor]Yesterday we reported that a couple of details about iOS 7 were leaked ahead of its possible announcement at WWDC 2013. Basically those details involved the user interface of the software, and today the folks at 9to5 Mac have managed to get more information about the upcoming update, and unsurprisingly it seems that according to their sources, iOS 7 is expected to offer more integration with vehicles through the use of Siri. We said that this is unsurprising because Siri has already seen some integration with vehicles through the Eyes Free feature.

However what’s more interesting is that the integration is expected to go beyond Siri and could even see integration with Apple Maps on the dashboard of cars! Considering that Apple Maps was thought of as highly inaccurate during its launch, we’re seriously hoping that Apple has managed to get their stuff together if they hope that Apple Maps integration in vehicles is to be met with enthusiasm instead of groans. In any case take this with a grain of salt for now, but with WWDC coming up in the next month, we expect more details to be revealed then. In the meantime what do you guys think? Anyone interested in seeing Apple Maps integration in their vehicles?

iOS 7 Allegedly Gets Detailed Ahead Of WWDC

iOS 7 Allegedly Gets Detailed Ahead Of WWDCWith WWDC coming soon, we guess there are some things which we can more or less assume will be announced, namely Apple’s next major update to their iOS operating system iOS 7. iOS 7 is probably the most highly anticipated iOS update especially since Apple’s industrial designer, Jony Ive, will be the one at the helm of the team since he took over Scott Forstall’s place back in 2012. We’ve been hearing rumors about iOS 7 and thanks to the folks at 9to5 Mac, they have managed to obtain some intel about some of the changes that will be made to the operating system. (more…)

iOS 7 Concept Improves Contacts App With Attached Photos

Apple announced the dates for this year’s WWDC earlier today which they also announced they will be using the show to give an in-depth look at the next version of both iOS and OS X. We’ve seen some great iOS 7 concepts in the past, one of which reimagines the lock screen, text messaging and more, but a new concept has caught our attention today for what is being imagined for some of iOS’ most notable apps.

The iOS 7 concept comes to us by Rafael Justino and takes a look at a re-imagined Clock, Voice Memo, Weather and Calculator app. Some of the improvements look to be a simple change in the app’s overall color scheme, but his concept for the Contacts app is one I could certainly get behind. Being able to see attached photos of your contacts straight from the start of the Contacts app will certainly help in recognizing a person, especially if you have a long list of names.

Apples WWDC Starts On June 10 With Focus On iOS 7, OS X

We’re about two months away from summer’s official start, which means not only will we be able to wear our no-longer fashionable jean shorts out in public, but it also means Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, or WWDC, will soon be upon us. Apple has made the official announcement as their biggest conference of the year will take place in San Francisco from June 10 – 14.

Apple promises this year’s WWDC will give an in-depth look at the next version of iOS and OS X, which they certainly gave us a glimpse of both operating systems at last year’s WWDC. Last year’s WWDC also marked the launch of the MacBook Pro with Retina, which has many speculating the company will reveal a new Mac Pro soon. Analyst Believes iPhone 5 Sales Have Been Disappointing

Analysts usually fire off their opinions in notes to investors, they often make some interesting observations and comments. Steve Milunovich, an analyst at UBS, believes that iPhone 5 sales have been disappointing because its not a killer product. Now I am sure many of you would disagree with him, but he bases his argument upon the idea that iPhone 5 sales have been hit by the popularity of Samsung’s gigantic phablets, which offer greater screen real estate.

iOS 7 Concept Reimagines Lock Screen, Text Messaging And More

iOS 7 may be running behind schedule, but we’ve seen some amazing concepts over the past couple of weeks that have certainly made us excited about all of the possibilities for the future of iOS. We’ve seen some concepts that suggest a new app switcher as well as being able to resize icons and widgets, but the iOS 7 concept we’ll be featuring today is kind of a generalized concept that helps improve a number of areas of iOS.

The concept featured above was created by Ran Avni, which he imagines an iOS 7 that features an improved lock screen, text messages as well as the addition of OS X’s mission control feature. The best part of Avni’s concept is it doesn’t seem too far fetched to include in iOS 7 as many of what Avni suggests in this concept doesn’t seem too complicated to use, which we know is one of the major bullet points for Apple and their iOS devices. Simplicity is king in Apple’s mind and we certainly think Avni’s concept is both simple and extremely useful.
