24kt Gold iPad Air oozes with luxury

ademov-24kt-ipadair1Gold is something that everyone looks out for and would not mind owning lots of in their lifetime, and for the Pharaohs of old, even in the afterlife. The thing about gold is, it is extremely rare and limited in quantity, which is what makes it all the more valuable. We have seen blinged out iPads in the past before, but none of them will be like the 24kt Gold iPad Air.

After all, this particular one will have been engraved, laser cut, polished, plated, clear coated, and comes with a CNC’ed black acrylic inlay. In a nutshell, it happens to be the most intricate iPad that has been ever created by the folks over at Computer Choppers. The asking price for the 24kt Gold iPad Air stands at $5,000 a pop, and they will be available in extremely limited quantities since only a handful of these puppies will be sold each year. Basically, the folks behind the 24kt Gold iPad Air claim that the amount of time and labor spent on making just one of these puppies are just plain ridiculous, being more of a test of skills and new equipment than anything else. Oh yeah, bragging rights also come in handy, that is for sure.

The iMpulse will make gaming and playing music on your phone much easier

implulse_gaming_media_controller_in_hand

We use our phones for just about everything. They play the part of taking and receiving calls of course, but we also have texting, games, answering emails, surfing the web, and listening to music. It has our whole lives hiding inside, and helps us to be more productive (if we choose to be). The only problem that many of us face, is that our screens and some of the controls on our phone are too small. That’s why many people have moved to phablets.

If all you’re really concerned about is playing games and music, then having a little controller that won’t be too cumbersome to carry around might be nice. The iMpulse is supposedly the world’s smallest gaming and media controller, and will fit snugly on your keyring. It has a D-pad and 4 buttons on the front, and two buttons on the back.

This has a 100 foot range, making it perfect for turning up the volume from afar. There is an SDK available so you can turn this into your controller for whatever you’d like. It has rechargeable batteries, and can be juiced up via microUSB. The buttons feature white backlighting, and it can chirp if you’ve lost it, but are still within range. That would be quite exquisite for making sure you don’t lose your keys every morning. It uses Bluetooth version 2.1, and can be used on either your Android or iOS devices. This will cost you in the area of $40, but seems like it would be worth it in the long run.

The iPad Paintbrush brings some artistic flare to digital painting

iPad Paintbrush
While we’ve all toyed around with MS Paint at least once or twice in our lives, there are artists who make a living off of doing digital paintings. They are skilled artisans just the same as any other branch of art, but they use a mouse and settings to get different brush strokes and colors. For all the artists out there that might consider switching from the tangible medium to the digital one, it can and would be a giant shift. Of course, it would also be nice not having to constantly buy more paint.

If you are one such person, or want to give digital painting a try, then the iPad Paintbrush might be just what you’re looking for. This may look like a common paintbrush, but each fiber of synthetic hair at the tip of the brush has conductive properties. The other end of the brush is a stylus so that you don’t need to have two separate tools for the same device. The brush is capable of making realistic strokes, which will give your work more of a human touch to it.

This will cost you around $50, which is about standard for this sort of utensil. While it might be an interesting tool for an artist, it would also be a way to let little ones play at artistry without causing a mess. While this does have ‘iPad’ in the name, it will work with any touchscreen tablet.

Rolling Bedside iPad Stand works great even if you’re not sick

rolling-beside-ipad-standThe iPad is the tablet to own, although those who happen to be huge fans over in the Android camp would beg to differ. Assuming you have an iPad and would love to bring it with you wherever you go, what happens when you are sick at home and are consigned to a bed all day long? Surely holding up an iPad with your hand might prove to be too much of an ask for you, considering how you should spend all of your energy to recuperate instead. Good thing there is this thing known as the $199.95 Rolling Bedside iPad Stand, where it is a mobile iPad stand that will ensure your favorite tablet remains at the optimal viewing position while lying in bed.

It also works great when you are reclining in a chair, or even when sitting on a sofa. Boasting a height-adjustable, articulating swing arm, you will be able to place your device at the ideal eye level, distance, and angle – heck, why not turn it upside down as well? The swing arm is flexible enough to be raised or lowered from 30″-56″ using sturdy clip locks, where it will also be able to fold out of the way when not in use, or whenever you are ready to rise from your bed or chair. The mount itself will be able to secure the iPad (of course, hence its name), but it is also benevolent enough to handle other tablets or e-readers that are up to 8.5” x 11” in size.

SoundDew Wireless Speakers – for Whatever the Weather

Unknown

Music brings a lot to everyday life. I believe everyones life has a soundtrack. I like to the mine is the kind of music you hear during a wine commercial, but it’s really not. Some days it’s a lot more Rob Zombie than Mozart. That being said, I love listening to some tunes almost everywhere I go, and the shower is no exception. So how about a water resistant, wireless speaker that can go almost anywhere?

Check out SoundDew, great for work, or play, this virtually indestructible little speaker has a play time of up to 10 hours and includes a little hook that will let it “hand-out” in your shower, from your backpack, or even dangle from your handlebars. The SoundDew also incorporates a mic, for all your necessary hands free calls, complete with noise reduction and echo cancellation.

The 3 inch, rubberized, SoundDew speaker also includes an aux-in outlet allowing you to connect devices that are without bluetooth capability. The Soundpad from Atoll improves upon a great idea

Soundpad
Being able to hear our music and television programs is rather important to us. Using your tablet as your main entertainment hub is good and well, but you’re likely going to want better speakers than what came standard on your device. Of course, this is merely one more gizmo to bring around with you. Wouldn’t it be nice if all our essential gadgets had every feature we wanted and came in a compact package?

If you have an iPad, chances are you’ve fallen prey to the smart cover. They’re clever and useful, but they don’t even really protect your whole tablet. Should it happen to have a premium Bluetooth loudspeaker system in it, then it might be a more valid option. The SoundPad for iPad is just that, with 4 built-in speakers that will give you wireless sound that won’t be an extra burden to carry around.

It still works as a magnetic screen protector just as the smart cover did, with the same functions of putting your iPad on standby or waking it up when you cover or uncover it. These are available for Air, the classic iPad, and the Mini. You can choose from white, black, green, blue, or red, and they will cost you $129 (the price doesn’t change depending on what kind of iPad it is for). Seeing that the speakers will be facing you, the sound will obviously be greatly improved already, but they’re making it sound as if the speakers will do the lows and highs justice. However, that remains to be seen.

Kensington hopes to increase iPad Air productivity with new KeyFolio keyboard cases

keyboard-cover-kensingtonAny purchase of a modern day smartphone or tablet would be incomplete if it does not come with the relevant kind of accessories to go along with it. The recently announced iPad Air would be a good example, and this might be the very reason that the folks over at Kensington has decided to do something about the situation. As a result, they have come up with a quartet of new iPad keyboard cases for the iPad Air, where each one of them will offer a superior keyboard experience that is touted to match a desktop keyboard when it comes to for comfort, accuracy, responsiveness, and convenience, while you are on the go, of course. Regardless of which model you choose, they will all arrive with half a dozen rows of island keys, where each of them will feature a dedicated space to increase the level of typing accuracy. iKettle – Control your kettle from your phone

Hot coffee, the elixir of early risers and sleepy people everywhere. Its hard to imagine a world without a nice cup of coffee waiting for us to soothe our souls, perk us up or bring us back to life. In a perfect world, coffee would make itself while I was still in bed and arrive at my bedside via a tall blonde bodybuilder with a subtle European accent of some kind. I can dream, can’t I?

Unknown

In the meantime, there’s iKettle, allowing you to instantly control hot beverage making from anywhere in your house by using your iPhone. Simply set your system to Wake Mode, and the next morning you will be gently called to consciousness and asked if you would like to have the kettle on. ( not sure about the accent) If your answer is yes, you will later be asked if you’d like it to be kept warm.

Maybe coffee isn’t your thing and it’s a nice relaxing cup of tea that get’s you rolling. iKettle has four precise temperature settings, designed to help you achieve the perfect brew whether it be green tea, or java. With its sleek stainless steel design, and one-touch settings, the 1.8 liter iKettle can wake you up, or welcome you home with a steaming hot beverage. And let’s face it, where would you keep a tall blonde bodybuilder anyway?

iKettle is easy to clean with a removable heating element, has an automatic shut off, and boil-dry protection, works with your homes WiFi connection and will be available for delivery in the UK in a few weeks, no word yet on when it will be available here in the States, but I’m hoping it’s very soon. The iKettle can be pre-ordered from firebox.com for right around 160 bucks. We’ll keep you posted when it jumps the pond.
