Apple to host second launch event in China on September 11th

Apple to host second launch event in China on September 11th

We can’t be the only ones wondering whether the bright colors in Apple’s September 10th invite were a visual reference to the snazzy plastic iPhones we’ve been seeing recently. Indeed, these same primary hues have now re-appeared in a second invite sent to journalists in China, summoning them to special event on September 11th in Beijing, and that only adds to our expectation that a cheaper iPhone 5C (if that’s what it’s really called) may be imminent. Tim Cook wouldn’t have undertaken all those long-haul visits to Chinese carriers just for the free slippers and sleeping masks.

Case Mate Claims iPhone 5C Is Slated For September 20th Launch

Case Mate Claims iPhone 5C Is Slated For September 20th LaunchThe budget oriented iPhone 5C has been rumored for a long, long time already, and until now, there has been nothing official from Apple to confirm the availability of the iPhone 5C. Well, one thing that Apple has no direct control over would be the numerous third party accessories manufacturers out there who also anticipate the very same iPhone 5C, and these folks would have come up with their very own accessories already. Case in point, Case Mate claims that they know when the iPhone 5C will be launched, touting a September 20th release date.

After all, that is also the very same date that was listed on Case Mate’s website as the shipping date for its new range of cases which will cater for the iPhone 5C. It would make perfect sense if Apple were to make available the iPhone 5C on the same day as the main star of their smartphone portfolio, the iPhone 5S. Earlier today, Apple did send out an invitation for an event that is happening this September 10th, where that is when the alleged smartphones will be unveiled to the masses. Do you think that Case Mate has something going on here that will eventually pan out to be true?

Apple Sends Invites For September 10th iPhone Event

Apple Sends Invites For September 10th iPhone Event

The rumors about Apple’s iPhone event have finally been put to rest. Apple has sent out invites to the press for an event on September 10th. It has been consistently rumored over the last few weeks that the company will unveil its new iPhones on September 10th. Even if the event doesn’t bring new smartphones, which is next to impossible, we now know for sure when Apple is going to go up on stage to make the announcements everyone has been waiting for.

Apple is rumored to announce two new iPhones at this event. The iPhone 5S is one of those two smartphones. It is expected to have a faster processor, better camera and increased on-board storage option. A couple of new colors have been rumored as well, the much talked about gold/champagne and grey/graphite offering. The second smartphone is said to be the hotly anticipated budget iPhone, which is also known as the iPhone 5C. It is expected to have same internals as the iPhone 5, though it will skip glass and aluminium in favor of plastic. iPhone 5C is expected to be offered in as many as five different colors, the invite certainly seems to hint that September 10th will be a very colorful day. Both new iPhones are rumored to release on September 20th. The event takes place in San Francisco, it will begin at 10AM PT. Ubergizmo will have all of the updates for you come launch day. Apple’s September 10 iPhone Event Now Official As Invites Sent To Press

    apple-invite-iphone-sept-13

Apple has just sent out invites for a September 10 special event focusing on iPhone. The event is set to take place at 10 AM PT on the 10th at the Apple Campus in Cupertino, according to the invite, which will probably come as no surprise to those who watch the company and the rumors surrounding its impending product launches.

Apple is said to be unveiling multiple devices on the day, including a lower-cost iPhone “5C” as it’s been dubbed in the press, as well a more expensive iPhone 5 successor, possibly called the iPhone 5S. The 5S is supposed to have an improved camera, as well as improved internals and a new gold color option, while the iPhone 5C will reportedly feature a plastic backing with internals essentially unchanged from the iPhone 5. The invite features the phrase “This should brighten everyone’s day,” along with a graphic depiction of multi-colored dots, which suggest leaks of iPhone hardware with different color casings are on the money at least.

A lot of attention will be on what Apple reveals at this event, not only because it could mark the first time Apple announces more than one new iPhone model launching at or around the same time. There’s also iOS 7, Apple’s first major visual overhaul of its mobile OS, which is due to arrive likely around the same time as the iPhone ships. That’s probably going to happen on or before Sept. 20 or thereabouts, if early reports prove accurate.

Other highlights of the show will likely include more details about iTunes Radio, which should launch to US users at least along with iOS 7. But hardware will probably be the star of the show, as the world tunes in to see what Apple plans to do to increase the global reach of its smartphone devices, extending it to markets that previously might have felt the pricing pinch with Apple’s decidedly premium approach to mobile thus far.

We’ll be in attendance at the event live, bringing you all the latest on Apple’s brand new smartphone plans for 2013.

iPhone 5C Hands On Video Shows Web Browsing Through Safari

iPhone 5C Hands On Video Shows Web Browsing Through Safari

We’ve seen a lot of iPhone 5C leaks over the last few weeks. Casings, various parts and components have been spotted almost every other day. While such leaks are pretty common, we’re yet to see a fully assembled iPhone 5C. There was one leak which showed off scores of purported budget iPhone units being tested right off the assembly line but some are of the view that those units might actually be clones. A new video has been published by a Chinese blog which shows off a purported iPhone 5C fully assembled and capable of browsing the web through mobile Safari. The video is very low quality due to which its authenticity cannot be guaranteed.

Roughly lasting 50 seconds, the video shows off a purported iPhone 5C in a red or pink plastic shell. Apple’s low cost iPhone is expected to be made from plastic, it is also expected to come in as many as five different colors. The front camera and ear speaker are aligned like they are on an iPhone 5, this smartphone is believed to be similar to Apple’s current flagship from the front, it is even expected to have the same internal hardware. No surprises there. This purported unit appears to be running on Wi-Fi as one can make out the airplane icon which denote Airplane Mode in which cellular radio is turned off. Only recently the smartphone was pictured in what is believed to be its retail packaging. Apple is expected to make an announcement on September 10th, with the release taking place on September 20th.

    iPhone 5C Packaging Leaked

iPhone 5C Packaging LeakedMuch has been said (and of course, subsequently leaked) about the upcoming iPhone 5C, where a purported reference card was reportedly leaked yesterday, not to mention having being caught on video sometime at the end of last month. Well, we are slowly but surely getting closer to the announcement of a new Apple product, although we have no concrete information as to which device will be announced at the upcoming September 10th event. One persistent rumor that has been making its way around, however, is the budget-oriented iPhone 5C, which is said to arrive in a plastic case that will boast of many colors. What you see above is an alleged image of the purported iPhone 5C, coming in its packaging. The images were said to have been pulled from the Chinese website iapps.im, although they were removed in double quick time, but not before other sites managed to publish about it.

The alleged leaked image above depicts the iPhone 5C in white, blue and yellow case versions, while there are other alleged leaked photos of the iPhone 5C depicting it in a shade of red. What do you think Apple will unveil at their press conference this coming September 10th? Will it just be the iPhone 5S, or will the iPhone 5C accompany it? How about letting us see a new iPad, too?

iPhone 5C glimpsed in blue and other colors, doesn’t look awful

iPhone 5C glimpsed in blue and pink, actually looks quite premium

Our previous look at a tangled pile of iPhone 5C’s wasn’t especially flattering, and it only showed the plain white version of the rumored handset. The newer image above is impossible to authenticate, but it’s a tad more sympathetic and it comes from a batch of photos of yellow, pink and blue plastic iPhones (or perhaps knock-offs) that briefly appeared on Chinese site iapps.im before being deleted at the request of a “relevant party.” Although there are definitely some echoes of Nokia’s Lumia 620 here, the close-up shot of the blue model suggests we may be looking at something a bit thinner, with slightly less rounded edges, and with a non-removable unibody that may also have a more serious matte finish — although the translucent packaging makes it hard to be sure. Go ahead and squint at the other photos after the break.

iPhone 5C Purported Reference Card Leaks

iPhone 5C Purported Reference Card Leaks

Apple is expected to unveil two new iPhones next month. It is expected to conduct an event on September 10th, however the company hasn’t rolled out invites as yet, so nothing is confirmed as of now. The company has traditionally released only one new iPhone model every year since the original iPhone came out back in 2007, it is expected to break away from that tradition this year by launching two new models together. The second model is presumably its new budget iPhone, a.k.a the iPhone 5C. Purported reference card of the iPhone 5C has leaked online, the reference card is bundled with all of the literature that accompanies a device in the box.

The image of this iPhone 5C reference card is small and blurry so it is hard to make out what is printed on them. A picture of the front of iPhone 5C is printed in the center, it looks a lot like the iPhone 5. That doesn’t come as a surprise, since its said to have the same 4 inch display. One thing that this reference card does reveal is the moniker, we can clearly see that the device is called iPhone 5C. The fact remains though that there’s no way to confirm if the card actually does belong to Apple’s budget iPhone, or is it merely a fake. What do you think? [Image via PhoneArena]
