iPhone 5S Rumored To Sport A7 Chip, 31% Faster Than The A6

iPhone 5S Rumored To Sport A7 Chip, 31% Faster Than The A6Apple is rumored to announce the iPhone 5S later this year, possibly during a rumored 10th of September event which could see the announcement of the low-cost iPhone 5C as well. While the hardware specs of the iPhone 5S remain a mystery since nothing official has been announced, we have heard it could sport a fingerprint scanner under its sapphire-covered home button, along with the possibility of an A7 processor. Well according to a recent tweet by Clayton Morris, not only has the A7 chip for the iPhone 5S been “confirmed”, but apparently his sources have told him that it will be running about 31% faster than the A6 on the iPhone 5.

To top it off, the sources of 9to5Mac have also informed them that Apple has been testing 64-bit A7 chips on iPhone 5S prototypes as well. It is not clear if these 64-bit A7 chips will be making it to the final product, but if it does, iPhone 5S owners could be in for a treat. Apparently with these 64-bit A7 chips, the graphical effects on the phone, especially with iOS 7, will appear to be much smoother compared to other iOS devices. The 64-bit processor has also been reported on by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in the past, who believes that the move to 64-bit could happen in the near future and could either debut with the A7 or the A8, which presumably would arrive on iOS devices in 2014.

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully Apple’s 10th of September event will pan out and we will be able to get our hands on official details soon!

iPhone 5C Allegedly Pictured During Testing

iPhone 5C Allegedly Pictured During Testing

Over the past couple of months we’ve heard a lot of rumors about the possibility that Apple might release two new iPhones at the same time, something that it has never done before. These two new smartphones are widely known as the iPhone 5S, the upgrade to iPhone 5, and the iPhone 5C, which is the much rumored low cost iPhone that the company has supposedly been working on for quite some time. We’ve already seen casings, parts and components of both devices leak. Now a new image has surfaced which allegedly shows off a score of iPhone 5C units being tested near the assembly line.

The picture was initially posted on Sina Weibo, which is China’s version of Twitter. Weibo is actually the initial source for quite a lot of rumors that originate from China or the Far East in general. These iPhone 5C units are apparently being tested for general operation and capacity, though there’s obviously no way to confirm that. For all we know these could be knock-offs based on all of the rumors about Apple’s low cost iPhone that have been circulating over the last few months. The company is expected to make an announcement on September 10th, though it is yet to confirm that. [Image via NoWhereElse]

iPhone 5S And iPhone 5C Caught On Camera Side-By-Side

iPhone 5S And iPhone 5C Caught On Camera Side By SideOver the past couple of weeks and months, we’ve seen photos of Apple’s alleged upcoming devices, the iPhone 5S (the successor to the iPhone 5) and the iPhone 5C (the low-cost alternative). However thanks to blogger Sonny Dickson, they have managed to get their hands on a handful of new photos of the alleged devices, and this time even comparing them against one another as you can see in the image above. The images obtained by Sonny Dickson more or less corroborate what we have been hearing and seeing the past few months, and in some of the photos it seems that the iPhone 5S pictured even looks like it has a champagne finish (at least from some angles) which according to rumors, would be one of the available finishes.

The iPhone 5C as we can see in the image above is still the same blue finish that we had seen previously, so no surprises there, but it is also expected to be one of the many color choices that customers can choose from. Apple is expected to announce both the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C on the 10th of September with a possible release date pegged for the 20th of September for some regions, but until then do take it with a grain of salt for now.

Apple’s New iPhones Could Arrive In China On The 28th Of November

Apples New iPhones Could Arrive In China On The 28th Of NovemberApple has yet to announce when they will be revealing their new iPhones, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C, although rumors are suggesting that the 10th of September will be the date to mark on our calendars, although the next question is when can we expect them to be released? According to a report from China’s First Financial Daily, we can look forward to Apple releasing the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C on the 28th of November as it is still currently awaiting approval from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

As it stands there are rumors suggesting that the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C could see an initial launch on the 20th of September which isn’t too surprising given that Apple typically has their products ready to go within a couple of weeks from its announcement, but if you’re living in China, it looks like you could be in for a 2 month wait after some other countries have gotten their hands on the device. Then again a previous analyst’s report has suggested that the iPhone 5C could be a success in China possibly due to its lower price, so perhaps the 2 month wait might not be such a big deal. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we will be hearing the official details soon.

Gold iPhone 5S ‘Confirmed’ By Reuters

Gold iPhone 5S Confirmed By Reuters

We’re hearing rumors about the next generation iPhone on a daily basis now. Apple is expected to unveil the smartphone on September 10th, though the company is yet to confirm its plans. Over the past couple of weeks there has been speculation about iPhone 5S being offered in gold color as well. By now we’ve been treated to two purported casings and various analyst reports in favor of this possibility. Reuters now chimes in with its own report, claiming that its sources based in Taiwanese supply chain “confirm” that Apple will offer a gold covered iPhone next month.

It is believed that the gold color wouldn’t be tacky or over the top. One analyst recently claimed that the color would be less gold and more champagne. There’s speculation that the gold iPhone 5S would do well in China, given that a lot of local brands make gold colored smartphones and features phones in the country that are popular with customers. Jerry Zou, Senior VP of Beijing based PR firm FleishmanHillard, says that a new color would add variety and novelty. He calls them key to “winning over fickle Chinese customers.” Still, there’s no official confirmation that Apple would break away from its tradition of offering the iPhone in black and white only. For that we’ll have to wait, hopefully, until September.

Gold iPhone 5S Pictures Surface Yet Again

Rumor has it that Apple will offer a color option for the iPhone 5S that it has never offered before. We’ve already seen a purported gold iPhone 5S casing, though a number of analysts believe that it was fake. Today a few pictures of yet another iPhone 5S casing in gold have surfaced online. These pictures show that the casing has a much lighter shade of gold, which is in line with analysts’ predictions. It is believed that the gold color wouldn’t be too over the top, rather it is apparently going to be a lot like champagne.

Apple’s New iPhones Rumored For 20th September Release

Apples New iPhones Rumored For 20th September ReleaseAccording to earlier rumors, Apple is said to announce the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C during an event on the 10th of September. Apple has yet to send out the official invites, so for now the 10th of September seems to be the “official” date. Assuming the 10th of September date is true, when will Apple release the new phones then? Apple has been known to release their products within a relatively short amount of time between the launch and its release, so a couple of weeks would be a safe bet, and according to recent reports, it seems that the 20th of September could be a possible date.

This is according to a report from Nikkei who claims that the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will see a release on the 20th of September, where both phones are expected to go on sale in both Japan and Greece. We expect that the phones will also make its way to other countries like the US and UK (just to name a few) on the 20th of September as well, but for now both Japan and Greece have been named. In any case since nothing official has been announced, take it with a grain of salt for now but check back with us at a later date for the details.

iPhone 5S Home Button To Look Nearly Identical To Predecessor

iPhone 5S Home Button To Look Nearly Identical To Predecessor

    The speakers are very good

The last we heard, the upcoming iPhone 5S is said to feature a fingerprint scanner which would be placed underneath the home button. The home button is said to have been redesigned and would be convex and could be sapphire-covered, however according to a report from Mark Gurman from 9to5Mac, it does not seem like that might be the case. According to Gurman, who has been pretty spot on in the past, he revealed that the home button on the iPhone 5S will look nearly identical to the iPhone 5. This is in contrast to KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo who suggested a home button that would be noticeably different.

According to Gurman, “The new Home button’s design will not be noticeably convex. Perhaps the shape has changed slightly, but the tweaked button is nothing distinct enough for the iPhone 5S to be identified as anything but an iPhone 5 by the untrained eye. There’s the possibility, however, that the etching and border of the Home button could become more shiny and look slightly different.” Gurman also stated that the reason why Apple is introducing the fingerprint scanner is to add more security as not many iPhone users use a passcode to activate their devices. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully more will be revealed at Apple’s rumored 10th of September event.

Apple Reportedly Tells Foxconn To Begin iPhone 5S And iPhone 5C Mass Production

Apple Reportedly Tells Foxconn To Begin iPhone 5S And iPhone 5C Mass Production

It is widely believed that Apple will be unveiling two new iPhone models next months, presumably on September 10th. Up till now there has been no official word from Cupertino regarding future iPhones. Nevertheless, there have been countless rumors and leaks every other day regarding the upcoming smartphones, which are currently known as the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. A new report from the Wall Street Journal claims that Apple has given Foxconn, its primary manufacturer, the go-ahead to begin mass production of both iPhones.

There’s a lot of anticipation regarding the iPhone 5C, the low cost iPhone Apple is expected to unveil for the very first time this year. Both smartphones are now expected to be released early next month, at first it was believed that perhaps the actual release might take place in October. Earlier today we covered an analyst’s report on the possibility of iPhone 5C outshipping iPhone 5S at launch due to production issues with the latter. Apple is expected to ship around 4 million to 5.2 million units of iPhone 5S during the September quarter as opposed to over 8 million units of the iPhone 5C. Made from polycarbonate, the iPhone 5C is expected to have internals similar to the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5S is likely to come with a fingerprint sensor, for the first time Apple is also expected to launch next generation iPhone in gold color.
