Hi-Koala Huggable Portable Speaker exudes plenty of love

hikoalaKoalas are extremely cute in nature – and they also happen to be one of the endearing mascots whenever you pay a visit Down Under (that is, Australia). Well, if that is the case, you might as well kill two birds with a single proverbial stone thanks to the $39.99 Hi-Koala Huggable Portable Speaker. The name of this particular portable speaker gives the game away – you get what looks like a stuffed animal at first, but in reality, it is a portable speaker since the koala itself will continue to hug your device as music is played back over it.

Apart from that, the Hi-Koala Huggable Portable Speaker will also be compatible with any other audio playback device or smartphone that has a 3.5mm headphone jack. This does seem to be the ideal purchase for kids if you do a whole lot of traveling, since they will have a new stuffed toy to hug, not to mention having their own portable speaker to soothe those wrangled nerves with their favorite tunes. A single set of batteries will be able to last for up to 10 hours of non-stop playback, but do keep a pair of AA batteries as a spare just in case.

The iMpulse will make gaming and playing music on your phone much easier

implulse_gaming_media_controller_in_hand

We use our phones for just about everything. They play the part of taking and receiving calls of course, but we also have texting, games, answering emails, surfing the web, and listening to music. It has our whole lives hiding inside, and helps us to be more productive (if we choose to be). The only problem that many of us face, is that our screens and some of the controls on our phone are too small. That’s why many people have moved to phablets.

If all you’re really concerned about is playing games and music, then having a little controller that won’t be too cumbersome to carry around might be nice. The iMpulse is supposedly the world’s smallest gaming and media controller, and will fit snugly on your keyring. It has a D-pad and 4 buttons on the front, and two buttons on the back.

This has a 100 foot range, making it perfect for turning up the volume from afar. There is an SDK available so you can turn this into your controller for whatever you’d like. It has rechargeable batteries, and can be juiced up via microUSB. The buttons feature white backlighting, and it can chirp if you’ve lost it, but are still within range. That would be quite exquisite for making sure you don’t lose your keys every morning. It uses Bluetooth version 2.1, and can be used on either your Android or iOS devices. This will cost you in the area of $40, but seems like it would be worth it in the long run.

olloclip introduces iPhone 5c 3-in-1 clip-on photo lens

olloclip-iphone5cSo far, the idea of a “budget” iPhone did not really take off in a big way, as the iPhone 5c from Apple has not managed to tear up the sales records at all, regardless of the number of countries that it has been released in. In fact, it is the far more expensive iPhone 5s that has experienced pretty good sales figures, mainly the gold color, too. It just goes to show how far your brand’s perception can bring a particular product, and with the huge popularity of the iPhone 5s, there are plenty of accessories that have been released for it along the way. What about the iPhone 5c? Are there any accessories that could roll out in its direction? olloclip has not forgotten about the iPhone 5c, having introduced the award-winning 3-IN-1 clip-on photo lens solution in five hot colors for the iPhone 5c.

This 3-in-1 clip-on photo lens intends to take full advantage of the iPhone 5c’s 8-megapixel iSight camera. It will merge fisheye, wide-angle and macro lenses in one small, convenient package. The asking price? $59.99 a pop, where you can also opt to mix and match it with the new iPhone 5c.

Small enough to be able to fit into your pocket without any complaints, and you are also able to carry it around in the palm of your hand without missing a beat. This would make it the ideal camera accessory to capture and share life’s experiences while you are constantly on the move. Apart from that, the olloclip would also make life easier for iPhone 5c mobile photographers as it will enhance their shots and videos, all the while playing nice with popular apps such as Instagram, Facebook and iPhone’s Camera, iPhoto and iMovie built-in apps.

The wide-angle lens will nearly double the iPhone’s normal field of view, while the fisheye lens can capture approximately a 180° field-of-view, with the macro lens applying roughly a 10X magnification on macro shots.

Musical iPhone Illumisphere brings a light and sound show to your living room

illumisphere“There’s an app for that”, or so the saying goes. Having said that, is there also a piece of hardware for all sorts of zany apps out there which are in the market? I suppose after taking a look at the $99.95 Musical iPhone Illumisphere, you could more or less say yes to that particular statement. In a nutshell, the Musical iPhone Illumisphere is a device which will be able to synchronize its light show with music that is played back from a compatible iPhone. Coming in a geodesic-like shape, it will feature 40 triangular faces that results in a rather festive light show whenever the built-in 5-watt multicolored LED array starts to kick into action, resulting in more colors than your eyes will be able to take in – we are talking about over a million blends of colors.

You will hook up the Musical iPhone Illumisphere via Bluetooth to an iPhone, iPod, iPad, or Android-powered smartphone right up to 30′ away, and the device itself will be able to offer clear audio via a pair of 3-watt speakers and a bass reflex port. Should you hold any parties in your home this holiday season, and want to spruce up an intimate setting, then the Musical iPhone Illumisphere would seem to be the ideal purchase. You can set the Musical iPhone Illumisphere to pulsate according to the beat of music, glow randomly, or shut off while music plays, and all of it can be controlled via the included remote.

iRecorder, the portable iPhone speaker that looks like a retro cassette player

irecorderThere are some moments in life where the old and the new meet, and retro is always in vogue – it is just a matter of which particular era that should take centrestage at that point in time. Well, the $39.99 iRecorder would be an interesting play of bridging both the old and the new, as it looks like one of those Retro Cassette Players, except that in reality, it carries a very different function – by being a portable speaker for the iPhone.

The iRecorder would play nice with the iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, anything older than the iPhone 4 would not work. Oh yeah, and one more thing – no longer do you need to keep a pencil around the house handy, as the iRecorder will not eat your tape. Those who grew up in the era where cassette tapes were the most popular choice for listening to music would be able to identify with me. The iRecorder would run on a trio of AA batteries, and connects to your iPhone via the standard issue 3.5mm plug. One thing that bugs me though, the gaudy color in which it comes in does not really appeal to my taste, how about you?

The iCella phone case will put a rave in your pocket

iCella case
There is a feature on some phones that will allow you to set your flash to go off whenever you get a message. This has blinded me on far too many occasions, and normally scares the skin off of anyone around when it happens. If you’re fond of over-the-top flashing lights and wish there were more of them in your life, then there’s a smartphone case that you’re going to want to look for.

The iCella is a smartphone case that is clear with etched patterns that will reveal themselves when the bright white LED on your phone flashes. The background color varies, and there are a myriad of patterns to choose from. As the light will be coming from your phone, you don’t need to worry about replacing batteries or charging the case.

In all honesty, it’s a cute addition to pair up with an interesting feature on your phone. It will make your incoming calls, SMS, and MMS text messages easier to see. However, this polycarbonate casing is only going to further the usage of a feature that is only beneficial to those who own the phone. Of the people I have known, very, very few use this because they know how jarring it can be to everyone around them. If you do need to use this feature, and find this case to be useful and stylish, it will cost you $20. This is available for the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S4.

AUUG Motion Synth will turn movements into music

motion synth by AUUG

We express ourselves in many different ways. Some need an outlet such as art or a physical activity to vent their emotions. Perhaps one of the most widely used methods though, is music. Listening to music is how we show others what we think of the world, how we’re feeling on a particular day, or in a specific moment. Most of the time though, it’s the music that other people have created, but has an element that we can relate to. What if you could create your own music, and didn’t even need an instrument to do so?

Much in the same way that we move to the beat of a song, the AUUG Motion Synth will allow you to create music based on your movements. It’s sort of the reverse of ‘feeling a song’. All you need is an iPhone or iPod Touch, and the Motion Synth will do the rest. There are three components of the Motion Synth you’ll need to make this work (excluding your phone), and it consists of the AUUG grip, app, and cloud.

The AUUG grip gives your phone a place to sit so that you don’t need to hold onto it. The app responds to intuitive natural movements, which means it will lessen the time it takes to start making something that sounds like music to your ears. The cloud will allow you to share presets with other AUUG Synth users, discuss techniques, and see tutorials. As it is motion-based, the sky is quite literally the limit when it comes to what you can create. This will cost you anywhere from $68-78 should you feel like dancing to the beat of your own drum.

Available for crowdfunding on Kickstarter

Fenix rolls out HandHold and CrossWay cases for iPhones

fenixThe market for pre-loved electronics these days seem to be a growing one, and that would mean more and more people are taking care of their existing smartphones and tablets so that there is a higher resale value just in case they want to dispose of it in the secondary market. Having said that, smartphone and tablet accessories do seem to be a pretty popular venture too, and the folks over at Fenix have introduced two more cases for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, and they are known as the HandHold and CrossWay. These will boast of a unique design and protective exterior that will work alongside the ability to store your most important items – where among them include a license, cash or credit card, making them a must-have accessory.

Chris Michaud, CEO of Felix, said, “We want you to have fun, and the HandHold and CrossWay cases can help you do that. They’re durable, tough, and a great alternative to lugging around a separate wallet or purse. We also want you to be bold, different, and express yourself with your accessories. Aside from their considerable cool factor- these cases are made from the same material as bullet-proof glass so you know they’re tough.”

These iPhone cases from Fenix were developed from high-strength engineering thermoplastic, where the HandHold safeguards your smartphone against every day bumps and bruises. Both the “fingers” and “thumb” wraps are not there just for aesthetic purposes only, but rather, they would also provide you with enough space to slide a credit card, cash, or license under the case for safe-keeping. It will arrive in half a dozen color combinations, namely Black/Red, Black/Orange, Black/Yellow, White/Red, White/Blue, and White/Pink, retailing for $29.99 a pop.

As for the CrossWay, it is touted to be one of the world’s thinnest wallet cases, bringing together the world of fashion alongside the option to stash away key necessities like a little bit of cash, a credit card or license. You can pick up the CrossWay in Black/Red, Black/Gray, White/Gray, or White/Pink colors for $29.99 each.
