We’ve featured awesome papercraft Iron Man and War Machine figurines before, but Kai-Xiang Xhong’s creation easily eclipses those two. The 20-year-old papercraft enthusiast made a life-size, wearable and wonderfully made Iron Man suit using nothing but cardboard.

After seeing his work through its Facebook community, the famed visual effects and props academy Stan Winston School interviewed Kai-Xiang Xhong and let him share some of his creations on the school’s blog.

Here are clips from Stan Winston School’s video chat with Kai-Xiang. It’s well worth a watch, as he shows off many of his incredible creations in it.

Iron Man 2 may not have been one of the best Marvel movies made, but it had a lot of nice details and eye candy. Which is great for merchandising. Take the scene on the race track where Tony Stark’s armor comes to life from a suitcase. That was probably the best scene in the movie, so of course you can now buy that suitcase – as a battery pack.

Remember that scene in the first Iron Man movie where Tony Stark admits that he is Iron Man? Well President Barack Obama had a similar moment when he recently announced the the US Army will be building an Iron Man-like suit of their own.

In his speech (check it out in the video above), President Obama was quoted as saying, “Basically, I’m here to announce that we’re building Iron Man […] Not really. Maybe. It’s classified,” which was then accompanied by laughs. Some might think he’s joking but in reality, he’s not. (more…)
