Iron Man Repulsor Desk Lamp: Stark out of the Dark

Tony Stark has an arsenal of toys and armor that even Bruce Wayne would be envious of. But he doesn’t have a cool desk lamp – that is, until now.

I know not from whence this awesome Iron Man Repulsor desk lamp originated, but Marvel needs to steal this idea now and put it into production in time for the release of Iron Man 3 this summer.

Iron Man 3 Trailer: The Incredible DIY Version

At a certain point, you’ve watched the new Iron Man 3 trailer so many times that one more viewing would send your body into catatonic shock. It’s time to take a breather. And what better way than to watch a homemade version that’s almost as good? Or, you know, as charming. More »

New Iron Man 3 Trailer: So. Much. Badass.

Oh man, Tony Stark is getting ready to kick some serious ass. Are you ready for Iron Man 3? The $200 million epic hits theaters on May 3rd, and if this latest look at the flick doesn’t get you excited, nothing will. More »

Captain Americake (and the Cakevengers)

Fans of Captain America will immediately recognize the superhero in this photo as he pops his head out of this deliciously geeky cake. Though his projectile-shaped head reminds me a little bit of Bullet Bill from the Mario games.

But Captain America isn’t the only baked Avenger in this room. No, sirree. Iron Man, Hulk and Thor are ready to be devoured by the masses as well. These whimsical Avengers cakes were posted (and made?) by CakeCentral contributor Vera76 and were made for one very lucky child’s birthday party. Why didn’t my parents ever make me stuff like this when I was growing up?

Avengers, Assemble in my stomach now!

Iron Man Arc Reactor Pocket Watch: If He Only Had a Heart

If Tony Stark had been born a century or two earlier,  he would have probably skipped the high-tech Arc Reactor and gone with something more like the Tin Woodsman had – a pocket watch heart. This is what that watch would look like. Yeah, basically a pocket watch that matches Iron Man’s armor.

This Iron Man steampunk style pocket watch was made by Adi Simion and even though it may not be able to keep track of time, I know that I would buy one in a heartbeat.

It also reminds me that we need to take some of these superheros and throw them into the Victorian era. Those are the movies that I would like to see. Somebody get on that.

Iron Bounty Hunter: Is He Tony Fett or Boba Stark?

This Iron Man/Boba Fett sculpture is awesome. Matthew J. Hideousboi painted after seeing a Boba Fett helmet painted as Iron Man for the As You Wish Helmet Project, a charity event that raised funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, by getting artists to make their own custom Boba Fett and Clone Trooper helmets. Personally, I think that Matthew’s version is better.

I would love to see this guy in a movie. Maybe now that Disney owns both Marvel and LucasFilm, we will someday.

[P.S. I had no idea the Stan Winston School of Character Arts even existed. If you dream about doing character design or special effects, you can become part of the whole process by subscribing to the school and getting step-by-step videos. Pretty soon you too will be making badass creatures and aliens for yourself.]

Here’s a Teaser for Iron Man 3’s Super Bowl Ad

Because we’re all just suckers when it comes to anything Marvel, Iron Man and/or Bob Downey (and especially because Iron Man 3 looks so amazing), we can’t help but enjoy watching trailers for… freaking trailers. Iron Man 3 will showcase a new trailer during the Super Bowl so Marvel decided to tease the spot by showing an adrenaline pumping, emotion inducing 15 second teaser that includes some new never before shots. Namely, Don Cheadle as Iron Patriot? [YouTube] More »

Iron Man Gauntlet Shoots Real Lasers

New from Stark Enterprises: The Iron Man gauntlet. It looks cool on your wrist, compliments your Mark-whatever armor and as a special bonus, it even shoots real lasers. Not wimpy lasers, mind you – lasers that are high-powered and strong enough to burn things and pop balloons.

And let’s face it, that’s what you need to save the world. You never know when an angry clown villain will show up and attack you with his balloon animal army. This full metal gauntlet, runs on 1x 18650 plus 2x 14500 Li Ion cells and has two blue lasers packed in at 1.2W each, plus two 4mW ones for aiming. Check out the gauntlet in action in the video clip below:

Pretty impressive, eh? It was made by Patrick Priebe of Laser-Gadgets. Sadly he isn’t sharing his build plans, but you can watch the video and drool.

You Don’t Have To Be Tony Stark To Build an Iron Man Gauntlet with Working Lasers

It’s no surprise that people like to try and build things from Iron Man. Iron Man is awesome. We’ve seen a Reactor Ring that doubles as a ring box, but it doesn’t actually generate any power. This home-made Iron Man gauntlet on the other hand, actually does do some real Iron Man stuff, like shoot lasers. More »
