Today Apple announced iTunes 11—a huge update with a totally new look. To tide you over until its release, which isn’t until October, Apple this afternoon released iTunes 10.7, which includes support for iOS 6 and new iPod Nanos and Shuffles. Obviously it’s an smaller, albeit necessary update, but we know there’s a huge one coming next month. [Apple via 9to5Mac] More »
Apple launches incremental iTunes 10.7 update: supports new devices and iOS 6
Posted in: Today's ChiliWhile we won’t be seeing the heavily redesigned iTunes 11 until October, Apple has unveiled a new update ready for its roster of new devices, not to mention the incoming iOS 6. The refresh will work with the fresh-off-the-production-line iPod Nano and Shuffle hardware — but that’s the extent of what’s new in the 165MB download. You can grab it at the source below.

Just in time for the release of iOS 6 and the iPhone 5 comes iTunes 11, which has an even more streamlined appearance, “edge-to-edge” design, and more an overall more visual feel. But you’ll have to wait until late October for it. More »
If we were to buy into leaks, the best source is usually straight from the horse’s mouth and it looks like Apple’s very own search engine is chock full of information that they have yet to announce. Earlier we reported that the iPhone 5 name was more or less confirmed, and now it seems that we can expect iTunes 11 to be launched alongside the next-gen iPhone and the iPod touch as well. No word on what we can expect yet from iTunes 11, but if the rumors are right, it seems that iTunes 11 has been redesigned from the ground up and is not only sleeker, but faster as well. In any case we’ll most certainly be looking forward to seeing what Apple has up their sleeves, so check back with us in a few hours for all the details!

Apple search results turn up iPhone 5 name and LTE connectivity, indications of new iPod touch, iPod nano and iTunes 11
Posted in: Today's ChiliApple offered a hint of the name in its invitation to today’s event, but it looks like a slip-up on its own website may have now let the cat of the bag. Searching for “iphone-5” brings up a number of results for (as yet nonexistent) pages related to a device that seems to clearly be called the “iPhone 5.” What’s more, as 9 to 5 Mac notes, there are also references to a “new iPod touch with Retina Display” and a new iPod nano, as well as a similar indication that iTunes 11 is set to be released today.
Update: 9 to 5 Mac has also turned up another search result that would seem to confirm the presence of LTE in the new iPhone.
