We suppose even if you did buy a custom Jambox speaker done up in Red Sox colors, you wouldn’t necessarily cop to it in the comments. As it turns out, though, you wouldn’t be alone: more than 70 percent of the people who purchase a Jambox on Jawbone.com choose their own colors for the cap and speaker grille. Given that, Jawbone’s decided to do the same thing with the Big Jambox, which you could previously only buy in the stock colors. As with the smaller model, there are over 100 possible combinations, including some permutations only a sports fan could love. As always, too, the personalization has absolutely no bearing on the price: the MSRP for the Big Jambox is still $300.

Trinity – Jawbone JAMBOX – Powerful sounds with super compact Bluetooth wireless speaker
Posted in: Today's ChiliTrinity is now importing into Japan the JAMBOX from Jawbone, from the US.
I think it can find its place in the Japanese market.
It’s a small, cool box with 85 decibel sound output, able to be paired up with 8 Bluetooth devices, and has 1seg ability. It is compatible with a lot of music, video, game-related apps so sound can be greatly enhanced over smart devices and it is a hands free “Conference on the go” allowing great sound quality for calls, Skype, etc., and audibly lets …
Looks like Mr. Eddie Fier, the man we hope is CEO of Edifier, is planning to wade into the Jambox-wars with this Bluetooth speaker-cum-speakerphone. The iF335 Bric Connect bonds with your devices over Bluetooth and auxiliary inputs, pumping out 12 watts of RMS power over a pair of 70mm drivers. It’s available from today for $99.99, assuming you can still type after the unremitting hilarity of our Eddie Fier / Edifier gag earlier.

In the two years since the Jawbox Jambone came out, other options have hit the market with varying new features and improved specs. But although some of the new challengers are legit, the Jambox remains the original Bluetooth speaker to find the right mix of attractive design, ease of use, and quality. Brian Lam over at the Wirecutter has a soft spot in his heart for this speaker, and Wired’s Mat Honan likes its big brother’s sound quality. More »
Vers Inc, a company that sells products for people concerned about the environment, announced a new Bluetooth speaker today, in the mold of speakers like the Jambox. The Vers 2Q is admittedly handsome–it’s wrapped in a warm wooden cabinet and it’s small enough to fit in your hand. Plus it’s got Bluetooth so it pairs with your phone. But $200 is a steep price for 13 watts of speakers–especially when there isn’t any detail available on the drivers, and the Jambox (which is the same price) is so well-liked. So it’s primarily marketed towards the people that think that wood casing on a gadget makes it more environmentally friendly. Plus, although it’s “handcrafted,” there’s no indication where it’s made–lots of things are handcrafted in factories like Foxconn. The bottom line is whenever you see words like “handcrafted,” you’ve got to understand it’s straight up marketing, unless you’re in a place like twee-Brookyn or Etsy. Speakers can be small-batch, but these Vers speakers definitely are mass produced.
The Vers 2Q are coming soon, and you can sign up to get an email when they’re on sale.
