Yahoo! Japan has been pretty creative in the past, launching a thirst-quenching drink under the Yahoo! brand. Well, this sense of innovation has seen the Internet company come alongside Kiip, another US startup which incentivizes in-app ads by turning them […]
Well over two years after the Tōhuku earthquake and tsunami, TEPCO officials admit that radioactive groundwater has been leaking into the nearby ocean for, well, two years.
My friend, Andrew traveled in Japan last May and he made this 2 minute, beautiful video about his 18 days in Japan.
Enjoy his journey through several Japanese cites including Tokyo, Nagano, Osaka, Kyoto, and Koyasan. You will love it and you will definitely have a sudden urge to travel in Japan!
Google Street View – never leave home without it. We do know that the Street View team has already covered many thousands of square miles across the earth, so much so that they have also done walkabouts on two particular […]
Perhaps one of the most iconic creatures in the history of video games is Dragon Quest’s bulbous, smiley-faced Slime. I always thought he looked like a giant blue Hershey’s Kiss, or one half of an hourglass. The latter has just been made into a thing.
The guys at Square Enix have designed this awesome Slime timer which counts down about three minutes – which is just about right for cooking instant noodles. It measures about 4 inches-tall, and will come in either blue slime/sand or metallic slime/sand.
The Slime hourglass sells for ¥2200 (~$22 USD) over at the Square Enix e-STORE, and will ship later this month. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for Slime candies.
Managing your smartphone’s battery is something most heavy users tend to do as leaving several applications draining your battery while they run in the background isn’t as fun as it sounds, especially if you won’t be able to recharge your […]
Rumors, suggestions and trademark applications have been building a case for an wrist-worn Apple product for some time now — an official iWatch to fulfill the wearable potential of the iPod Nano. Now, the Financial Times says the company is “aggressively” hiring to help it get the product ready for release. According to the usual sources familiar with the matter, the new staff might have been sought out to help Apple wrap its head around wearable computing, moving the project to the next stage of development. The timing of the hires might also imply that the iWatch won’t be ready until late next year. Of course, if you can’t wait that long, you can always just make your own.
Your teenage child is too big – and cool – for the Kid’s Walker, but you don’t trust her with the Kuratas mech just yet. How are you going to retain your title of World’s Greatest Parent? Simple. With Sagawa Electronics’ Powered Jacket MK3 walking exoskeleton.
There’s only one problem: like the Kuratas, the Powered Jacket is either a promotional tool or an insanely expensive commercial product.
Allegedly, the exoskeleton is over 7ft. tall and weighs a mere 55lb. as it is primarily made of carbon fiber and aluminum. Its arms are controlled simply by moving the corresponding lever, while its legs are strapped to the wearer’s own legs. Apparently its fingers can also be controlled precisely. It also has a transparent canopy to protect the wearer against pedophiles. Now watch its demo video:
That was the best video I’ve in seen my entire life. Science fiction, comedy, drama and horror all in one. You can doubt the extent of Sagawa Electronics’ contribution to robotics, but its contribution to humor is the stuff of legends. As claimed in the video, Sagawa Electronics will supposedly make only five Powered Jacket MK3 units for the foreseeable future, with each one priced at ¥12,500,000 (~$124,000 USD). If that’s how much is needed for them to make another video, then folks I’m telling you that’s a freakin’ bargain.
