Naked and Famous Denim is the Willy Wonka of the fashion world. Seriously, the Canadian jeans shop puts out glow in the dark jeans,
Color-changing clothing were popular briefly in the early 90s and it looks like they’ll be making a comeback fairly soon now that Naked & Famous has announced their thermochromic jeans. The jeans have a specific molecule inside of its dye that allows it to change color depending on how hot or cold you are.
As you’ll see in the promotional video published by Naked & Famous above this post, the jeans change from white to blue as you put them on. You can expand on the color-changing fun by placing your hand or anything else warm to your jeans, changing them back to white in the spot you just touched.
The thermochromic jeans will cost you $240 if you want to have the privilege of being able to change the color of your jeans wherever you go. Or, you could always go for a regular $20 pair of jeans and take them off every so often, which would probably turn heads as much as these jeans would.

There is a lot of garbage in the world, which is probably why Coca-Cola and will.i.am partnered up to create EKOCYCLE, an initiative that helps market gadgets, clothing and other products which use up to 100% plastic and aluminum waste as source material.
Among the products in the line are the EKOCYCLE Beats by Dre headphones – which contain 31% recycled materials, and have three different recycled PET plastics, while still delivering optimal sound.
Levi’s has created the 29% post-consumer recycled 501 Waste<Less Jeans thanks to the fact that its polyester is a byproduct of waste thermoplastics. They use an average of eight different recycled plastic bottles per pair of jeans, and Levi’s expects to repurpose over 3.5 million recycled PET plastic bottles in the Spring of this year alone.
The Barely There smartphone case from Casemate uses 100% recycled materials, and extends the life of discarded waste while protecting your shiny new tech.
These products are pretty cool, and I hope that more of our gear is made out of garbage, because there is certainly plenty left over in landfills everywhere.

You’ve been thinking it for ages: What you really want your jeans to do is make your butt feel like it’s just been lathered with lotion. Pine for these skin softening slacks no longer, because Wrangler has invented moisturizing jeans. More »
Depending on what type of jeans you wear, I think most of us will agree that it can be uncomfortable having to carry your smartphone in the front pocket. Years ago, I had a pair of dress slacks that had a little pocket midway down the thigh that unzipped that you could poke a smartphone into. I thought that was a great invention.
A company called I/O Denim is running a Kickstarter campaign to create premium denim jeans that have very similar pocket on the leg designed to hold your smart phone for quick and easy access. Other than having that fancy little pocket above the knee for your smartphone, these are your basic denim jeans. The jeans are made in the USA, and unfortunately are far from cheap – costing roughly twice as much as a pair of your standard Levi’s – though they’re no more expensive than fancy designer brands.
The maker says that the First Edition jeans fall somewhere between skinny jeans and straight leg in the way they fit. I guess that means they won’t be too tight and they won’t be too loose. Initially, they’ll be available only in men’s sizes 32, 33, 34, and 36.
A pledge of $100(USD) will get you one of the first 50 pairs of I/O Jeans, saving $15 off of the regular price. The campaign is about 70% of the way to its goal and wraps up on 12/30/12, so if you want a pair, you should order them now.
Let’s face it – wearing a pair of jeans is one of the more comfortable choice of clothes that you can ever pick, and denim works its fashion magic whether you are about to make a presentation to millions of people worldwide (ala Steve Jobs), or have a smart casual do to attend, or simply want to look rugged. Well, the thing about most jeans are this – their pockets fail to have the kind of space needed to accommodate your regular smartphone, which is why WTFJeans’ V2 denims are extra special. Retailing for $159 a pair, they were specially designed for Easy in – Easy out use, even while you are sitting down.
Not only that, iPhone 5 owners will be pleased to hear that the WTFPocket design was maintained in V2 of the WTFJeans, sporting dimensions of 4.87″ x 2.31″ x 0.30″ that would allow you to slip in your iPhone 5 comfortably. In addition it retains the special micro-fiber pocket interior that ensures your precious smartphone remains protected always, while it cleans the screen each time you take it out.

What are some of the tools that you have used to ensure that your friends will know just where you are, and what you are doing or the restaurant that you just visited for some good food? A smartphone and a tablet would be the primary modes of updating one’s social networks while on-the-go, apart from using such apps when seated in front of your notebook or computer, of course. How about a pair of jeans? Wait a minute here, how can something you wear be used to update your social network status? Italian denim brand Replay has done so by introducing what they call the Social Denim, where this pair of jeans will boast of a vinyl pocket that comes integrated with a small Bluetooth device. This Bluetooth device will “talk” to your smartphone over a dedicated app, allowing you to share your updates with whatever social network(s) you are signed in to.
You can also report your “happiness level” that shows off eight different moods to choose from, which will of course, range from the positive to the negative. The Replay Social Denim jeans will be available in blue and black fabric, in regular-slim or skinny fit for men and skinny or baby boot cut for women. They won’t come that cheap though, hitting Replay stores and European retailers as well as the Replay online store sometime in December with prices starting from €150 to a high of €199. All they need now is a fart detector that tells the world you just let one rip…and where.

Recycling is great, but there’s a point where it stops being beneficial to the environement and starts being a marketing term. Levi’s new jeans, from the Waste Less line, fall firmly into the latter category: supposedly they’re made out of 20% recycled plastic (from bottles and food trays), and we don’t know exact pricing yet, but they’re definitely going to cost more than you’d expect from a pair of jeans (and more than the 100% cotton versions). Levi’s claims that each pair of Waste Less jeans has three and a half recycled twenty ounce bottles in them, which sounds like a lot, but isn’t when you consider how little material is in a plastic bottle. The jeans will come in the 511 skinny style, the 504 relaxed straight fit, and as a jean jacket. At least they spared the classic 501. (more…)
