On Sunday evening, we reported that NVIDIA had launched Tegra 4, its next-generation quad-core chip with four ARM Cortex A15 CPUs, and a new massive GPU. At the same time, the company has announced the NVIDIA Shield, a “pure Android” portable gaming  device that is designed to bring a unique mobile gaming experience. Shield has been built as a great game controller which happens to host one of the fastest next-gen mobile chip along with a 720p screen. Shield is obviously capable of running Android games like nothing else can, but that’s not it: using technology specific to NVIDIA, Shield can also stream games from a nearby PC and effectively brings “PC gaming” into your hands. Archos is coming up with a new product called Archos TV Connect, and the company said that it will turn any HDTV into an Android Smart TV that can use the “full Android eco-system”. The interaction will happen thanks to a special QWERTY remote, which also acts as a game controller. Maybe you won’t have to wait for OUYA after all.

The remote control understands gestures, so swiping work just like it would on a tablet or a smartphone. The Android OS is Android 4.1 (aka Jelly Bean), which is one of the most recent version that you can find in devices like the Galaxy Note 2 for example. (more…)

HTC Android Jelly Bean Device Update List Leaked

Each release of the latest version of the Android operating system from Google will always elicit different reactions for various folks. Users would ask phone manufacturers just when their particular model would receive the newest version of Android, if possible, and manufacturers would look to the carriers for an answer. Well, Google’s latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update is no exception, and it seems that somewhere along HTC’s news plumbing system, a leak has sprung up – thanks to a rather trustworthy leak source known as Football4PDA..

Asus PadFone 2 Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

The Asus PadFone 2 was first announced in October earlier this year, before making an appearance at worldwide markets shortly after that. Well, when the Asus PadFone 2 first hit the decks, it came with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box, where of course one of the many questions that folks ask is this – would there ever be an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in the works? Good to know that the answer is in the affirmative, as Asus had already begun to roll out an Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update to PadFone 2.

It seems that this update will be done OTA (Over The Air), meaning you will have to download it directly over to the PadFone 2. Proud owners of the original Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 will be happy to hear that Jelly Bean 4.1.2 has just been leaked via SamMobile. But before you jump up and down to celebrate, do note that this is a test firmware version, which means that it has a couple of glitches and that it cannot be accessed via KIES.
