Power Mitt Oven Glove: Now You’re Cooking with Fingers

Last year we saw a fabric oven mitt that looked just like Nintendo’s infamous Power Glove. Pete Hottelet is raising funds on Indiegogo for a very similar product. Also named the Power Mitt, Pete’s take is made of silicone rubber and thus should be more heat-resistant than the other mitt.

As you can see, Pete’s glove also has separate sheaths for each finger making it look more like the original Power Glove.

For now, Pete is only offering right-handed gloves for average-sized hands. He said that if he gets over 1,000 orders through the fundraiser he’ll get a mold for a larger glove, and if he gets over 1,500 orders he’ll make a left-handed glove.

To the privileged right-handed people with perfectly sized hands: let’s help our mutated brethren adorn their weird limbs with a power glove. Pledge at least $39 (USD) on Indiegogo to get a Power Mitt as a reward and combat handedness prejudice.

Alien Xenomorph Cosplay Has One Mouth But Two Heads

The last time we saw professional cosplayer Peter Kokis, he was wearing his Crimson Typhoon costume. He reached out to us to share his latest creation, the Brooklyn Alien. Like his other costumes, this Xenomorph suit is made from various everyday objects.

Peter said some of the parts he used include “knife sharpeners, toilet plungers, drain mats and conduit tubing.” It took him about 16 months to gather the parts he needed and a total of 400 hours to put them together. The end result is this 120lb. recycled beast.

Disney Characters Meet The Walking Dead: The Walking Disney

Anyone out there that has kids has probably seen more Disney movies than you care to see. We certainly watch more than our share of cartoon films around my house. I happen to prefer The Walking Dead.

I’ve never wondered exactly what a Disney princess and her man would look like if they were to have to fight the zombie hoard. Artist Kasami-Sensei has though and we end up with these blood spattered Disney girls and guys.

I recognize the characters from a few of the images, like the girls from Frozen and Mulan. Some weren’t quite as obvious – like Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie. We have seen the some of the Disney characters as zombies in the past, but killing zombies is certainly better than being a zombie.

Ford Plans To Put a 2015 Mustang Convertible on Top of the Empire State Building

Check out the image below and look at it closely. It’s an old and blurry image in black and white from the 60′s, but you can see clearly that is a Ford Mustang on top of New York City’s iconic Empire State building. The car was put up there as an advertising stunt to celebrate the launch of the original 1965 Mustang convertible.

If you are wondering how the car got up there, engineers took the car apart into three major chunks and reassembled it on the observation deck of the building. Ford plans to recreate this marketing stunt for the all-new 2015 Mustang convertible.

The new Mustang will be carried up the elevator as well and sit atop the observation deck of the building for two days during the New York Auto show this April. The engineers are still working out how exactly they will take the much larger modern Mustang apart and reassemble it on top of the building with only a 6-hour window of opportunity.

If you’re fortunate enough to be in town between April 16th and 17th, the car will be on display from 8am to 2am on the building’s observation deck.

R/C Jet-Powered Dragon Shoots Flames and Burns Wallets

Dragons are a staple of fiction and are found in books, video games, and movies. The fire-breathing dragon is something that never existed as a real animal, but you can have your very own flying dragon.

After seeing Rick Hamel’s amazing remote-controlled dragonHammacher Schlemmer is now offering it for you to purchase.

This dragon can do more than fly, it can shoot 3-foot flames out of its mouth. That can’t be legal. The flying dragon has a 9-foot wingspan and can fly at up to 70 mph. Power comes from a tiny turbine engine and the dragon is controlled by a 2.4GHz radio. The flame that shoots from its mouth is made using a propane tank. At least the propane tank can’t shoot flames while the dragon is flying. The flames are only for the ground.

I can only imagine the fiery explosion that will result from a high-speed crash of this thing. If you have $60,000 lying around, the flying, flame-breathing dragon can be yours.

Adventure Time Magic: The Gathering Deck: Unflooped

Redditor The_Stoney_Badger’s friend put together this Magic: The Gathering deck. It’s a red token deck, nothing too fancy… except his friend replaced the art on the cards with appropriate images from Adventure Time. Metamagical!

Just to be clear, these are not made up cards. The_Stoney_Badger’s friend printed screenshots from the cartoon and pasted them over existing Magic cards. He also drew scenes from Adventure Time‘s classic Card Wars episode into a playing mat.

DIY Toothbrush Timer: Brush-type Motor

Tinkerer Steve Hoefer found a way to put those kitschy chattering teeth toy to good use. With the help of a 555 timer chip, a servo and some soldering, you can turn the toy into a timer that automatically counts down as you start brushing.

When you remove your toothbrush from the Toothy Toothbrush Timer’s toothbrush holder, a switch activates the chattering teeth. When the teeth stop chomping, you’re done brushing. That’s all there is to it. Steve set his timer at 2 minutes and 10 seconds, but you can of course set your own time.

Blobfish Plush: Ziggy of the Sea

ThinkGeek is blackmailing kindhearted people with its blobfish plush. What’s a blobfish? This poor creature was voted the world’s ugliest animal. To make things even more insulting, blobfish are endangered animals and don’t look hideous when in their natural habitat, thousands of feet underwater. That’s like having an alien take the last human to outer space stark naked, then noting that we look like bloated and sunburned corpses.

On the other hand, the voting was conducted by an organization called the Ugly Animal Preservation Society, which raises awareness for unsightly endangered animals. Many people know about pandas, eagles and tigers, but they’re not the only dying animals. With its title, the blobfish now serves as the mascot of its ilk.
