Sony unveiled the PlayStation 4 this past Wednesday, which we’re sure you were already aware of. But if you’re not the kind of person to check tech websites on an hourly basis, you might not have been aware such a big announcement occurred. So what better way to educate the gaming public than by showcasing the PlayStation 4 on a late-night talk show like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon?

Jimmy Fallon had Guerrilla Games’ Hermen Hulst to show off Killzone: Shadow Fall on a prototype PlayStation 4 unit. The demo Fallon plays through is the exact demo that was played during the PlayStation 4 event, although he’s probably one of the first people outside of Sony to get his hands on the new DualShock 4 controller.

Fallon and guest Anthony Anderson play Killzone: Shadow Fall for a bit and discuss the PlayStation 4. Judging by both Fallon and Anderson’s performance, we’d guess neither of them actually played either a first-person shooter or Killzone before as they both spent a lot of time missing their targets and yelling in fear for their lives.

The rumor mill has been having quite the time in regards to the next PlayStation. We’ve heard rumors of it being more powerful than the Xbox 360, rumors of its controller and other rumors revolving around its improvements with social media.

Last week, the Killzone Trilogy box set was announced where it merges Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 with a high-definition PS3 remaster of the original Killzone, making it the ideal purchase for hardcore fans of the franchise. Well, we diverge a wee bit today by focusing on the Killzone HD that will be released on PSN later next month – October 23rd, to be exact, alongside what the revealed Trophy List brings along to the table. The thing is, how does a 2004 title, albeit remastered in High Definition glory, fare after nearly a decade? This is where the story segment of the game is hugely important to make sure that gamers will still be able to return to it after many years without having any complaints other than the graphics.

Killzone HD now boasts of 720p graphics at a steady 30fps, sporting MSAA filtering, sharper textures and higher quality sound effects as you can see above. As for the trophy list, we still want to be under Santa’s “Nice” list this year, so you can head on here for the full set while we avoid the role of being a spoiler.
