Klipsch refreshes Quintet home theater system

Klipsch refreshes Quintet home theater system

We don’t have too many bad words to say about Klipsch, so when we heard it was refreshing its Quintet home theater system, we listened up. The eponymous-ish five speaker system has been a mainstay of the Klipsch line since 1998, and this is the fifth (too many 5s?) iteration. The new goodies? This time ’round each speaker has a 90 degree by 90 degree “Tractrix” horn for expanded listening area and a new Linear Travel Suspension aimed at reducing distortion and improving dynamics — new woofers have also been added. If the refresh sounds good, but you’re wondering if it’ll match your front room, you’ve only got a choice of a satin, brushed black finish. Already boxed your old system up? Then get ready to lay down $550 when it reaches your local store next month.

Update: As pointed out by some people, despite mentioning in the PR, this is not strictly a 5.1 system

Klipsch Image X7i Ceramic Headphones

Klipsch Image X7i Ceramic Headphones

Klipsch today introduced the new Image X7i, which is actually the company’s first ceramic headphones. Priced at $199.99 (U.S. MSRP), these headphones feature the ceramic composition that provides listeners with significant durability, the patented oval ear tips that allows for hours of comfortable, long-term wear, a tangle resistance cable, a protective carrying case, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and a three-button remote that houses a directional mic for Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod products. The Image X7i also utilizes a patented balanced armature driver, offering advanced audio technology that covers a wide frequency range. [Press Release]

Klipsch Image X7i is the company’s first ceramic headphones

If you’re in the market for a new set of headphones, then perhaps Klipsch might have something for you with their recently announced Image X7i headphones. These will be the first ever ceramic headphones built by Klipsch and will set you back $200. Designed to help accentuate the lows, mids and highs coming from your music/videos, they also come with a seal on the buds which helps to cancel noise coming from the outside, although active noise cancelling headphones might be more of an interest to you if noise cancellation is a pretty big deal for you.

The ceramic casings on the headphones help to ensure the durability as well, and for $200 we guess anyone would want to get their money’s worth! Sporting a proprietary armature driver, these headphones will come in either black or white and have also been designed to play nice with Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod products. Scheduled for a release in August, they can be bought via authorized retailers or on Klipsch’s website (which currently lists it as coming soon). [Press release]

Klipsch Image S4, Image S4i and Image S4A headphones launched

Klipsch has just launched the new Image S4, Image S4i and Image S4A headphones which are guaranteed to turn heads no matter where you go – especially when these new models will fill in the shoes as the updated versions of products that are already in the market. With a slight update in its features and capabilities, Klipsch has managed to deliver enhanced products without sacrificing on the traditional strengths in acoustics as well as unrivaled comfort.

For starters, the brand new Image S4, Image S4i and Image S4A will come with flat cabling which translates to added strength and tangle resistance, all coming in a more streamlined shape while delivering overall improvements in product durability.

Not only that, it will come with patented oval ear tips for which Klipsch is famous for, where each of the models will pave the way for hours of comfortable, long-term wear. It will be very different from circular-shaped ear tips which places additional stress on the pressure points within the ear, as Klipsch’s patented oval ear tips are a natural fit for the contours of the human ear canal. These ear tips are able to deliver superior noise isolation (or passive noise-cancellation), where it will block out nearly all ambient noise and provide excellent bass simultaneously.

All three models will deliver similar award-winning sound signature thanks to its 8.5mm dual magnet micro-speaker which covers a wide frequency range and delivers dynamic detail for the most strikingly realistic sound reproductions of music libraries. All three models – the Image S4, Image S4i and Image S4A will be released sometime this month, retailing for $79.99, $99.99 and $99.99, respectively.

When it comes to a decent pair of earphones, just which pair suits you the best? Do you have a favorite brand that you stick to all the time, or are you one who is willing to make a change as and when required.

Ears-on with Klipsch’s latest intra-aural headphone lineup: Image S4 (II) series, X7i

Earson with Klipsch's latest intraaural headphone lineup Image S4 II series, X7i

Been fancying a new set of in-ear headphones as of late? If you’ll recall, it was last week when Klipsch quietly revealed its new $200 Image X7i and a trio of Image S4 (II) series in-ears. Today, after getting our mitts on the new Image One on-ear models at its NYC event, we were able check out the in-ears for the first time. To refresh your memory, the X7i is the company’s first set crafted from ceramic materials, featuring balanced-armature drivers and intended as a step-down option from its $350 X10i. The S4 (II) models, on the other hand, are unsurprisingly refreshes of its tried and true S4 line. So if you’re interested in finding out more, join us past the break for our detailed impressions.

Klipsch revamps Image One series headphones, intros first Bluetooth variant (update: ears-on)

Klipsch revamps Image One series headphones, intros first Bluetooth variant update earson

As if updating and expanding its in-ear headphone lineup wasn’t enough, Klipsch has gone ahead and unveiled its revamped Image One on-ear set here at Irving Plaza in NYC. As we’re told, the new Image One is acoustically similar to its predecessor, but now it has a more stylish and robust design that should hold up better over time. Notably, the headphones only have a single cable leading into the left earcup (rather than splitting into both cups like the original), and it’s also of the flat variety to prevent tangling. The earcups can still fold flat, but now they can fold into the headband as well, making a smaller footprint for storage in a stuffed bag. In terms of comfort, the leather earpads are now a totally flat to provide an improved seal and better comfort. Beyond that, an Apple-certified inline remote / mic will help you control your music and calls on the go. An airliner converter, a 1/4-inch adapter and soft-shell carrying case are naturally included, and best of all, pricing still remains set at 150 bones.

Rather than just tweaking the original, however, Klipsch has decided to finally enter the wireless headphone game by offering a $250 Bluetooth-equipped variant for those who hate cords. This version looks nearly identical, with the subtle tweak of having the playback and volume controls positioned as buttons on the outside of the right earcup. The Image One Bluetooth also sports a built-in rechargeable battery, yet the set only gains 10 grams of weight (180 grams total) on top of its wired sibling — should the battery die, a detachable cable allows for passive functionality. What’s more, audiophiles will pleased to know that aptX and A2DP are both baked-in for high-quality lossless audio streaming. If your ears are already tingling with excitement, the new Image One and Image One Bluetooth are set to hit shelves by the end of the month. We’re already putting both sets of cans through their paces here at the event, so check back soon as we’ll be updating this post with our initial impressions.

Update: You’ll find images of the headphones below and our brief ears-on after the break.

Klipsch quietly teases new in-ear headphone lineup: S4 (II) series, S7i set to arrive this month

Leave it to Klipsch to surprise us with new gear for our ears when we least expect it. Within the last day or so, the company quietly pushed a “coming soon” page live on its website chock full of new in-ear headphones. To start, the S4 series is getting a complete refresh across the lineup and taking up the (II) moniker — namely, the $80 S4 (II), and the $100 S4i (II) and S4a (II), which respectively feature an inline remote / mic for iOS and Android devices. While the trio of intra-aurals look largely similar to their ear-pleasing predecessors, Klipsch has graced them with flat cables to kill the tangled-cord issues we’ve experienced.

Better yet, it’s also showcasing the $200 S7i (seen middle), a curvaceous set of balanced armature-loaded ceramic ‘bubs, equipped with an iOS-compatible remote / mic. The S7i essentially fills the “mid-range” gap in price from the S4i to the $350 X10i. Detailed specs for all the sets aren’t anywhere to be seen currently, but we’ll likely find out more at Klipsch’s NYC event next week. For now, you can rest assured knowing that you’ll have a choice of black or white for everything except the S4a (II) — and that it’s all already up for pre-order at the source link below.

Klipsch gets vibrant, intros S4i Rugged in-ear headphones

Klipsch gets vibrant, intros S4i Rugged inear headphones

The last we saw some colorful headphones from Klipsch was when it introduced the purple Lou Reed X10i in-ears last holiday season. Just in time for the summer, the headphone maker is unleashing a rugged version of its S4i earbuds — and in four vibrant finishes, no less (red, yellow, orange and blue). Although this water-resistant S4i variant seems practically identical to the S5i Rugged in-ears, we’re told that internally they pack the same 8.5mm dual magnet drivers as their namesake. Naturally, the in-ears feature an iDevice-compatible inline remote / mic, but you’ll merely get a basic case in place of the flashlight-equipped version reserved for the S5i. The S4i Ruggeds are set to go sale before the month’s out, and best of all they’re just priced at just $99. Hit up the press release after the break for more info in the meantime.
