Knit Alien Facehugger Will Keep You Warm. And Screaming.

Look what grandma Xenomorph made you for Christmas! It’s a life-size facehugger hand knitted by Etsy seller Katie aka Knitrocious. Its legs have clips on their ends so you can wrap it around your head or any part of your body for that matter.

You can order the knit facehugger from Knitrocious for $150 (USD). If that’s too pricey for you, you can wait for ThinkGeek’s plush version to be back in stock.

Fingerless Mittens with Spiky Scales: Glove Puppet

These neat knitted mittens by Etsy seller HotScones add +2 to warmth and +5 to charisma. They’re made of alpaca fleece and wool. Probably from a wool dragon. I see a lot of potential in this. Instead of settling for a generic dragon or dinosaur look, why not go for a specific item? We can have Wolverine mittens, Omni-tool mittens, PIP-Boy mittens…

Ryu mittens, Kazuya Mishima mittens, Infinity Gauntlet mittens…

Shin Megami Tensei gauntlet mittens, Mega Buster mittens, Power Glove mittens… the possibilities are endless. You can order the HotScones’ mittens from her Etsy shop for around $43 (USD) to $48 per pair. Unfortunately the green ones shown here are sold out as of this writing. Even more unfortunate, my awesome ideas for mittens don’t exist yet.

‘My Knitted Boyfriend’: At Least This Guy Won’t Open His Big Mouth

Being single can suck, especially when all of your friends already have plus one’s. Artist Noortje de Keijzer found a way around this not by joining online dating sites or by going on blind dates, but by knitting her own boyfriend.

Yes, you read that right: she knitted one.

Knitted Boyfriend

Obviously, she doesn’t have Geppetto’s power, so her knitted boyfriend isn’t alive. But since it’s actually a cushy bodysuit, any guy can wear it and make the suit come alive – or better yet, it can just be filled with stuffing if you’d prefer the strong and silent type.

Knitted Boyfriend1

So far, Noortje has knitted two boyfriends: Arthur, who was born knitted on September 14, 2009, has white skin, dark brown hair and black knickers; while Steve, born knitted on September 27, 2011, has dark brown skin, black hair and beige knickers.

How’s that for a kooky graduation project?

Dalek Hat Exterminates Wind Chill

So the latest season of Doctor Who kicked off last week with a Dalek episode. And if you saw it, you already know that this episode breaths new life into the Daleks and takes them from being a silly overused villain to making them multi-dimensional bad guys. Well, I can’t think of a better time to buy oneself a Dalek hat.

This neat Dalek hat comes from Nerdy Needles Knitting who makes many knitted Dalek hats in a variety of colors. The real Daleks now come in a plethora of colors after all. (They also offer TARDIS hats if you’re rooting for the good guys.)

The Dalek hat will keep you warm and cozy whether you are battling the Doctor or just wasting away on a Dalek Asylum planet. Just $36(USD).
