It has been said that the AI (artificial intelligence) will remain relentless, smart, and brutal, with survival being nigh impossible.

Last Of Us Movie Will Adapt From Game’s Storyline

Last Of Us Movie Will Adapt From Game’s StorylineThe Last of Us, a hit video game in recent memory is about to take the leap to the silver screen, not too long after we discovered that Sony Pictures had already registered the movie domain name. Well, here we are with additional information concerning the upcoming film version of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us – it is said to be an adaptation of the game’s original post-apocalyptic storyline, at least according to creative director Neil Druckmann.

Yes, They’re Making a Last of Us Movie

The Last of Us is coming to a theater near you. Not yet, but some day soon. If you haven’t played the game yet, the game follows Joel and Ellie, wandering around in a zombie infested world that includes such nasties as Clickers and Bloaters – along with plenty of awful humans too.

The creative director for the game, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, is writing the movie, while Sam Raimi and his Ghost House Pictures will be producing it, with Screen Gems handling distribution duties.

Hopefully it will be more than just the latest apocalypse film. The game was pretty unique, so there is no reason they can’t make a great movie out of it. One requirement though, is that they have to cast Ellen Page in some capacity. That’s really all I ask.

Well, that and focus on making a good movie.

The Last Of Us: Left Behind Launch Trailer Unveiled

Well, it has been some time in coming, but boy are we glad that our patience has paid off – The Last of Us: Left Behind’s launch trailer has just been revealed. The Last of Us has picked up its fair share of bouquets recently, including at least 230 Game of the Year picks worldwide. It is then cool to see the first ever, single-player downloadable story campaign, where it is called The Last of Us: Left Behind, revealed in a trailer. Left Behind would introduce us to the story of Ellie and Riley, where the themes of survival, loyalty, and love continue to be explored. Just what happened that turned Ellie into the fighter whom gamers were introduced to when she met Joel?

Sony Pictures Registered The Last Of Us Movie Domain

Sony Pictures Registered The Last Of Us Movie DomainWhen it comes to video games being turned into movies, it is not often that blockbusters arrive on the silver screen. Rather, it is more or less the case of the movie bombing, while the game itself continues to make tons of money. Remember Mortal Kombat? How about Super Mario Bros.? Even Mario’s widespread appeal could not prevent a box office bomb. Well, Sony does have a pretty decent movie studio, and their forays into Spiderman have proven to be rather lucrative in the past, so they might be casting an eye on turning video games into movies as well. We have seen the Need for Speed trailer before, and before you know it, Sony has been seen registering the domain name for The Last Of Us.

thelastofusmovie.net is now under the care of Sony, which would no doubt spark off plenty of speculation that there is a film version of the extremely cinematic PS3 exclusive coming our way. Of course, it might just be a purchase made on the defensive front for all you know, but I would like to think that Sony has a bunch of far more viable money making plans than this down the road. What do you think?

The Last Of Us Development Series Episode 1: Hush

Yes, we are on the cusp of February and will enter March pretty soon (although some countries are already well into March 1st), which means we are one step closer to the June 14th release of The Last of Us. Developers of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog, have recently rolled out a new bunch of videos which will provide a straightforward look at their in-house development process. The first of these videos can be viewed above, although you will need to be of a certain age, of course.

Basically, the Last of Us will play on a very common theme these days, which deals with apocalyptic epidemics on the earth. The Last of Us has been described as a “genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements” that are used to share a character driven story concerning a population decimated by a modern plague (zombies, anyone?) Two decades after the plague kicked in fully, nature has started to reclaim the infected cities, while infected humans continue to run wild with survivors killing each other for daily supplies such as food and weapons among others. The Last of Us will launch this coming June 14 and will be a Ps3 exclusive.
